“Very creative, innovative (& lots of fresh organics!) food and cocktails. Being a vegetarian, I love the inclusion of that fare on their menu. Although very expensive, it is certainly worth it. My partner and I visit 2-4 times a year, and the experience has always been absolutely delectable.“

“A local over in Bar Harbor encouraged us to visit this place on the "quiet side" of the island. We didn't have reservations and they were full, but the hostess and the bartender were as nice as could be and took care of us at the bar. We started with the best popovers we've ever had, huge, fluffy and accompanied by soft butter and fresh Maine strawberry and wild blueberry jam, respectively. My wife enjoyed tremendous fish tacos and I had the lobster popovers. Our food was incredible and Kip, our bartender, was incredibly pleasant and helpful. The view from the restaurant is fantastic as is the food and the staff.“

“I was here back in June of 2023, and I’m still thinking about the meal I ate there 6 months later. The lobster was the best. Just the best I’ve ever had. Cooked fresh and delivered right to my table. Everyone working here is super nice and takes pride in what they do. The environment is really cool, as the restaurant sits right over the water with the tables jutting out over the bay. Absolutely worth stopping at if you’re visiting the area.There’s also a local cat that hangs out in front of the place and says hi to everyone.“

“We have had lobster at a few places in southwest harbor and Beals has been by far our favorite. We got a lobster roll, lobster Mac and cheese and some shrimp! “Been coming to Bar Harbor for the past 30+ years and somehow never managed to check out Peter Trouts. Finally visited this afternoon for lunch and had the most incredible crab cake. The bar has been seriously raised. I can't imagine anyone making a better one. You can't improve perfection. ?Served with house made pickles, cole slaw, a delicious aioli and mustard. Paired with the Cushnoc Brewing triple berry kettle sour it was delicious!“

“BY FAR the best breakfast we had when visiting Bar Harbor over the summer. The blueberry pancakes are LIFE CHANGING! Nothing else compares. Cafe This Way is an absolute must if you're staying in or around Bar Harbor. Tucked away down a little street behind some other buildings, it can be easy to pass up, but you shouldn't!“

Tip: The enchiladas that I ordered with both green and red salsa was too spicy - like over the top spicy and I could barely eat it unfortunately. Please ask the waiter about spice level. My wife had the tacos which were fine. We eat Indian food regularly and are used to spicy but the green salsa here was too hot. I wish the waiter had told us.Vegetarian options: Calabacita (zucchini and squash) tacos and enchiladas“

She added that all lobsters in the area are caught and cooked the same way and thus pretty much all taste the same. So, you'll pay more for the fancy joint on the dock. Turns out, MUCH more. That's the beauty of a place like the Happy Clam Shack. It's a little off the beaten path, but if it's value you're after, it can't be beat.Located an easy 15 minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor, this charming eatery serves up delicious seafood at tasty prices. The staff were very friendly helpful with lobster-ordering rookies. The seating is all outdoor picnic tables adjacent to their parking lot. There's some open green space that's great for kids to run around or (in our case) toss a frisbee while waiting for dinner. Dinner was served surprisingly quickly and it exceeded expectations. The lobster was perfectly prepared, fresh, and delicious. The coleslaw side was also very good. They've also got GREAT pies!Here's the best part: We priced out lobster at various places in and around Bar Harbor. The Happy Clam Shack was literally 75% cheaper than some places in town! It's worth the drive!We've sent friends here and everyone has been very happy. “Amazing Place. Looks like a hole in the wall. Go inside and nicely renovated. The BEST fried seafood platter, EVER! Coast to coast I have never had such a perfect light breading on the freshest seafood .... Atlantic shrimp, local Clams and sweet Scallops plus Haddock. I was So impressed. Servers were great!Plus a great variety of cocktails and beers brewed in Maine.“

“We did the tasting menu and felt this was a great way to try most of the menu. This was a satisfying amount of food. We loved the homemade pastas, particularly the cacio e Pepe. The duck confit and the pork tenderloin ramen were fantastic and the flavors all worked very well together. Really excellent service from the entire staff!“

“Stopped there by chance leaving Acadia and looking for coffee and a snack. Had an amazing Curried chickpea smash with cucumber salad and arugula on rye. It was delicious, they have meat as well. I also had a dill potato salad which I enjoyed very much and a latte from Creative Coffee which is s right with them also yummy. We have noted it all to stop there in our next trip to Maine. Worth checking them out. Just a roadside stop with picnic tables outside (very nice ften the best places) and you must wear a mask to order at window.“

“Swung by on a summer trip to Maine. One of the coolest breweries I've ever been to in Maine. Wish it wasn't so far north or I'd visit ABC every time I came to Maine. Great outdoor area to sit at while you enjoy a tremendous selection of beers. Also had some food options, I did not try any but from what I saw the options looked good. The staff was great and friendly.“

Bonus that this is closest irish pub to ireland in the United States. If you’re in emergency services they collect patches for the bar back from your department. “We were on vacation from Indiana and tried all the Bar Harbor pizzas in the town. Rosalie’s was the best and we got it 4 times during our stay. We always brought a pizza back to where we were staying for the night.“

“We had dinner here two nights ago. Most of the surrounding establishments were closed or no longer serving food. It was about 8:30/8:40pm. So, we were told to check out this place. Which worked out well. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We had the fish tacos that was packed with flavor. We also had the fish and chips which were tasty and a large portion. We both opted for pints of the Sea Dog Blueberry Ale, which was also tasty. The service, food and atmosphere were all enjoyable.“
