“It was a cold & windy walk home when i passed by Standard Baking Co and decided a hot coffe was needed. Of course, who could pass up a cookie or brownie to go along. I decided on the Raspberry Gallette and I am now addicted!!!! I either need to find an alternate route home...or add another 2 miles to walk off the extra calories! Thank you Standard Baking Co to finding the right the right reward for me keeping my new year resolution to add more activity to my day!“

“I visited ZuBakery 4 times in a row while visiting Portland this week. This bakery places a strong emphasis on the quality of the dough and their efforts are well reflected in the wonderful texture of the bread and sweet smell of yeast.
The apple galette is phenomenal. The apples on top are beautifully caramelized and not soggy (!). The crust is the best part and it is perfect; light and crunchy, but yet retains its structure and texture.
I had their ham and cheese croissant and it is excellent. This is not a butter heavy (I am sure a lot of butter goes in here, but you know what I mean) croissant where everything is impossibly buttery. And no, this is a not an airpocket filled croissant (horror) with a rockhard (or) sad droopy shell.
The outer shell is light and crispy. The quality of the dough really shines in the inner layers of the croissant-- the flavor of the dough comes forward and it is so delightful. Ham and cheese are generously added, and they are of a good quality.
Currant scone.. wasn't my favorite. Too dry.
Challah (Fridays only) was very good. It is dense (as it should) and the texture is on point. Flavor-wise, it is not sweet at all. (Personally, I like slightly sweeter challah).
If I had more time in Portland, I would have tried out their fresh baguettes... maybe next time.
Lastly, what the other reviewers say is true. They sell out quickly.. within 30min of the bakery opening time, crowd favorites are gone.“

“Sara and her team are always on time, extra communicative, patient, and friendly! Reschedules sometimes happen due to sick kids and the weather, but she always gets us back on the schedule quickly. With kids and pets and an at-home business, Green Sweet is really a lifeline for us here.“

“Eighty-8 donuts catered a sweet breakfast the morning after our wedding at French’s Point in Stockton Springs, ME. Despite a cold November morning, they were absolutely amazing and our guests loved the hot and fresh mini donuts and coffee we sent them off with. They even had to-go boxes prepared so our friends and family could bring their favorite flavors home. This was the perfect way to end our wedding weekend! 10/10 would highly recommend their food truck for any event or large gathering, it was such a hit!“

“Amazing cakes! This was my first time ordering from Two Fat Cats. I ordered a chocolate chocolate cake for my son’s birthday and everyone was really impressed! Flavorful and perfectly sweet (but not too sweet) frosting and dense, melt in your mouth cake. Highly recommend!“

“If you are anywhere near Kelly's don't pass up the opportunity for a great lunch. Stopped in yesterday and can't say enough about the great food and bakery items. My wife, grown daughter and myself all got different lunch items and all were fantastic. Also picked up desert items to go....sooooo delicious! Kelly and her staff couldn't have been more friendly, helpful, and timely. You don't want to miss this one!“

“We visited Cape Whoopies on our first trip to Maine before moving here the following summer. Over the course of the last year, I've searched to find the best whoopie pies in Maine and keep coming back to Cape. We've sent them to relatives for birthdays and most recently shipped them back to TN for our stocking stuffers. Their shipping arrives as scheduled every time and in great condition (used this service 3 times to different states). The store clerks are always very friendly, and they remain the best whoopie pies in Maine so far!“

“Very cute little queer friendly and affirming coffee shop/eatery/diner in Portland! We stopped in while in town visiting for some caffeination. These had to be one of the most perfectly made lattes we've ever had. Milk properly steamed to perfection, without any sweetener it wasn't the least bit bitter and had the best flavor ever. Service was extremely welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere, even just while waiting to get our drinks, was very cute. We'll definitely be stopping back in when we are in the are.
Parking: Street parking only and it looked in short supply, however, we got lucky and got an open spot right in front of the shop.“

“I used to visit this place frequently and my last visit was more than 15 months ago.On my visit today I chose three flavors and they were all very different from the previous ones. Sadly, something changed in the recipe and I felt the lack of flavor. The service continues to be very friendly and helpful.“
“Hands down best cake business in greater Portland area! Cakes are always amazing, taste delicious (so many flavors to choose from!!) and very easy to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone!“
“In town for a short trip, stopped in for a quick drink, and immediately loved the vibe. We took our time exploring the space. Very cool. Vinyl spinning on the turntable, vintage maps displayed throughout. Very unique and thoughtfully decorated venue.“
“This was my favorite place to visit on our trip to Maine. When you walk in the door your olfactory senses are immediately satisfied and had me searching for a way to bottle up the smell and take it with me forever. The Whoopie Pies, Chocolate Dipped Whoopie Balls, Cookie Dough Balls and everything else was delicious. The owner was so nice and visited with us about our other trip destinations and even gave us a lunch recommendation for Alisson's Restaurant, which was also a very yummy place! Thank you!“

“Get the apple crisp!! It was so good!!! Also the sea salt caramel was delicious!! I highly recommend it! It is pretty crowded because it’s fairly popular, and customers can be pretty rude but it was still worth it!

“What a fantastic and beautiful cake Joni made for my new business ribbon cutting. The decoration matched the theme perfectly, the cake had a perfect almond flavor and the fresh raspberry filling was mouthwatering. Can't recommend her bakery and services enough.
