Definitely a massive recommend if you happen to be traveling thru Bangor - especially on a Sunday night - where things seem to be otherwise asleep. A delicious touch of the big city in upper Maine. Tan makes you feel like a long lost friend. And the food from the other side of the bar looks amazing!“

I was always going there in the late 90's and I swear I have not found a burger nearly as good as they made, haven't been there since I got pinched in 98 for robbing the Bangor Savings Bank. I really enjoyed that place, the atmosphere was so "cool." But the burgers, trust me world, the most absolute best I have ever had, give them a try, you won't be disappointed, I promise you that!“

“The Main Tavern is an iconic pub in downtown Bangor. I particularly like the chicken wings with a glass of white wine. The service is fast and the ambiance is terrific. There is plenty of parking in back of the pub so you do not have to search for a parking space. There is a parking lot entrance on Main Street right beside the lit Hopeful Sign. This pub is the oldest family run business in Bangor. The Main Tavern maybe the oldest continuously run pub in the State of Maine. The patrons and owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met. This is a "must do" stop on your way to Bar Harbor and to the coast. I am not much of a drinker but I like the people and the atmosphere. I definitely will be back soon. Thanks Debbie and Peter for always making us feel welcome. We appreciate you.
