“The business model has changed since they've reopened (take out only, open Wed through Friday) but the food is still the best around. The chicken pot pie is addictive and big enough to feed two people. My chicken Caesar salad was one of the best I've had recently. Check their Facebook page for hours and the menu.“

“A friend suggested we try Brewsters and it was great! The service was very friendly and fast. I’m from near Buffalo NY and they had the best wings I’ve had since transporting to Maine! We’ve tried several different dishes and specials and have enjoyed the food and fun atmosphere of the locals. I highly recommended Brewsters.Parking: Tucked away behind the motel but lots of parking close to entrance.Kid-friendliness: Great options for food items for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: I’m not sure it has accessibility. It’s up a set of stairs on a second story. Call to find out.“

Cap's Tavern Cocktail Bar • $
494 S Main St, Brewer

“I was a little nervous about this place but that soon dissipated after a few drinks. I guess it was karaoke night which the crowd REALLY gets into. We took a table towards the back. Our server was real nice, very down home lady. Our drinks were well made and the prices weren't too bad. The atmosphere is blue collar and a lively crowd. Don't expect a red carpet, well, actually, I think it's maroon, so..yeah. Anyway, the place has quite a few fun characters hanging about. The waitress does an amazing job at karaoke and she gets the crowd cheering. The bar reminded me of a TRUE neighborhood type bar with a nice mix of young people, fun couples, and of course the karaoke stars/wannabees, which is nice. The four of us had drinks, a few shots, some good laughs all for around 70.00; that's prettty damned good. Sure, the place is rough around the edges, but hey, on a Saturday night, it was hopping. I'll def go back. Maybe next time I'll try the karaoke.OH, btway, the karaoke notebook needs better organization, it's my only gripe, well, and tell the man bartender to smile a bit more. I tip well for smiles :-) Nice place, ole Caps.“

“Although I only ate there once while briefly living in Bangor; the food and service were great and the view was spectacular. I happened to meet the owner out walker her dog while on one of my daily walks along the river. A simple hello sparked a conversation, she was so kind and funny. I had no idea she was the owner until we got to chatting and ended up doing the river walk together that day. She lifted my spirits and if I still lived in town I would be a regular not just for the good food and service but to support such a kind human and her family.“

“The food was top notch. Great service. Really cool space. Menu options are elevated without being snooty and pair so well with the curated wine and cocktail menu. We had The Brandied Camembert, The Pork Belly, Chicken and Waffles, and Birria Tacos. All were delicious, thoughtful, and expertly cooked, but the pork belly was done so well, so perfect, that I foresee an addiction developing. At 8pm on a Friday night we had no problem finding street parking out front. This place is jewel on the Bangor dining scene crown and should not be missed! Don't sleep on it!“

Benjamin’s was the final stop, and actually put all the clues together for the hunt! It was such a fun way to get out of the house, and we even each got a free whoopie pie for hunting? I hadn’t been to Benjamins before, but the atmosphere was welcoming. We will definitely be in for some pool and darts some night!!“

“Our server, Griffin, was wonderful. He gave the perfect amount of attention; he didn’t hover nor was he scarce. He was very pleasant and polite. The food was delicious. Our hostess was a sweetheart and I met one of the owners as well when I purchased a gift card to use as a raffle item this weekend. He was very kind and generous. I will definitely be returning and bringing my friends with me.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere wasn’t loud, the music was good, there was alcohol advertisements and signs but they were tasteful and moderate; it didn’t shout “drink because it’s fun” it spoke more of a “we serve alcohol but that isn’t who we are”.“

“Real cool little brewery in downtown Bangor. We drove up from Bar Harbor and glad we did. It was one of the better breweries in Maine. They had a bunch of solid NE IPA's which I enjoyed and the bartender was a cool guy. They were flooded because Phish was in town and he did a great job. Def recommend checking it out.“

“It was New Years Eve, and the event was sold out. We had a nice dinner then proceeded to the lounge. Eventually, we found two seats at the bar. The bartenders were attentive yet incredibly busy getting drinks for patrons and servers. We realized that the lounge and restaurant only had one POS register to process orders and bills. This caused a backup and additional stress for bartenders and servers. The facility should have been better prepared to handle an event such as this. Other than this hiccup, it was an enjoyable evening and we would come back.“
