“Excellent and inconspicuous general store filled with delights. Great fresh baked goods, good lunch food amazing groceries and produce, and cool household items. A real gem.”
“Absolutely the best paczkis!! We picked up 8 assorted on Friday. Mark and his family do an outstanding job in making these polish dougnuts as authentic as the ones I grew up on.”
“Ann's Book Bistro is a cozy, inviting place for a meal. The food is consistently excellent and creative, and the staff makes the experience extraordinary. When the weather is warm, the patio outside is wonderful.”
“We sampled appetizers, entrees, non-alcoholic cocktails and desserts. All of the dishes were creative but not wacky. Extremely fresh and flavourful. And balanced! The mocktails were convincing and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and a little rustic but classy as well. A hard balance to strike. Our waitress was charming and genuine. I will definitely be back. It's worth a drive.”
“I had the garlic sauce Chicken and must say that the vegetables were perfectly cooked. They had a crunch to them that just hit the spotThe fresh spring rolls and their home made peanut sauce was delightful. I'm so glad we stumbled on this place during our roadtrip.”
“Very kind staff with that hometown vibe. Every time I come in here for breakfast on my way home from work there’s always a couple of old dudes willing to shoot it over coffee. Can’t put a price on that. Needless to say the food isn’t TO DIE FOR but it’s well worth the money and is very welcome on a hungry morning.”
“The lemon sorbet is to die for! The blueberry sorbet is good but not as good as lemon. Typically, there's a long line, but it goes quickly. A delicious summer treat!”
“I’ve been told that I needed to visit Mughal Palace so many times, so I know their food is amazing. What my boyfriend and I just experienced from their customer service, though, was incredible. On our way up to the Augusta area, we called ahead to order three dinners. Barely 10 minutes later our car starting giving us problems, forcing us off the highway. I called Mughal Palace to give them a heads up that we’d be late because I thought it might be a quick fix (they had already started the order so we didn’t want to cancel). When it became obvious that we weren’t going to make it, my boyfriend called to cancel the order. We felt SO bad ordering so much food that we weren’t going to pick up, but instead of expressing his frustration, the lovely man on the phone offered to deliver us the food- a 40 minute drive!! He was so sweet and understanding; we couldn’t believe it.Thank you so much! You made a hard night a little easier!!”
“This is such a welcoming place. It couldn't be any cuter. A country candy store/deli/ coffee shop. It is a win win for almost anyone! The sandwiches are delicious and very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly, offering great service. I will definitely go again!♡”
“Creative pizza offerings, 3-4 choices of different "slices" that are huge if in a hurry, or not, or get a whole pie. Could be warmer. Small plates: greenbeans delicious, cauliflower roasted tasty.A few wine choices, lots of beer styles, nicely priced.Best deep dish around!”
“Coffee shop attached to a wonderful bookstore. This is a must visit if you are in the area. Great selection of coffee, tea, baked goodies, and egg sandwiches. Can be crowded on busy weekends, but they move it along, pretty quickly. Never had trouble finding a place to seat. They also have outside seating!”
“Second time in but first time in a while. Everything was just as good as the first time. Oysters were perfect especially at 1/2 price. Burratta was tasty and beautiful. LOVED the maple duck wings that we tried at the recommendation of our server. Our server was so sweet and helpful. Made friends at the table next to us. King Eider’s is the kind of place you go back to often!”
“The ice cream is so good, we didn't let the cool fall temps, and the early sunset time, stop us from going. Prices are very reasonable, and the service was excellent.”
“Very friendly staff . Cute place by water. Happened to stumble on this place driving through and were so glad we stopped. The truckers knot with roastbeef was the best ? I've ever had. The flavor was out of this world. The coleslaw The fresh roast beef and the sauce they put on it. We would come back just for that. Must try this place out .”
“Actually the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Can’t go wrong with a paesano panin.A little bit pricey, so keep that in mind. That being said, if you have a couple bucks to spend, it’s 100% worth it.”
“Stopped in here today after our appointment at the dentist and man did it smell good,Both my daughter and her friend were starving and so ready for lunch! The lady working the counter offered them up some gummies while the little ladies enjoyed a ride on their coin operated Garfield ride and used their claw machine.Parking: Plenty of spots right at the Ballard center or lower level and across the street parkingKid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes! Wheel chair accessible”
“The service was amazing. The people were so nice. Dining out with a toddler can be challenging and the staff were well prepared with friendly faces and coloring books. The food was great. My husband was especially happy with his rib eye and I didn't try it but heard the fried clams were delicious. I would definitely go back.”
“Quaint outdoor experience for really good lunch fare. Very pleasant staff. We had Haddock chowder, fries, zucchini fries, lobster roll, fish sandwich, coleslaw, chili-cheese dog and shakes. All was yummy. Better lobster roll than we had in Portland!”
“This is a fun brewery to hang out at. They always have have an exciting variety beers so a flight is recommended! Nice place to sit and relax outside on a nice afternoon, fairly family friendly also if you’re bringing kids along. The people working there are always friendly.”
“First time going to the chubby hole. It’s a small joint mostly locals inside. Small bar and menu. Food was good. Burger, pastrami sandwich and grilled sausage special. It’s worth a stop, not far from route one.”
“Traveling around Maine, I've been disappointed in the quality of breakfast restaurants, particularly those that are held up as "the best in town!" In this case, the breakfast was the best across all items - bacon, eggs, ham steak, pancakes, and potatoes. The employees were nice, too.”
“Dropped into the Damariscotta River Grill on a weeknight in August. The bartender and wait staff were wonderfully attentive and helpful. The food was fabulous (I had a couple of seafood dishes). I look forward to my next visit!”
“I got the ultra hot wings, and they were definitely ultra hot, not for the faint of heart! I also had a great sub (the linebacker) and Greek salad (simple but delicious). Subs are huge and ooey goodness. My family got a pizza they said was great. We all went back a couple times each. Workers were all super friendly and helpful. Definitely a great bang for your buck!Kid-friendliness: Laid back place with several tables inside.”
“We go to NPH quite a bit. The food is always consistent. The Angry Al's oysters are wonderful. The Rueben sandwich, always up to par. This time I swayed from my usual Rueben, and had the pub burger, which was great. The disappointment this visit was our waitress. It felt like she was in a hurry to get rid of us. This came to light when I was going to ask for the dessert menu, and she plopped down the check without any eye contact, and rushed off. The hostess actually took care of the check. It wasn't close to closing time, or anything. I hope her day got better.”
“I worked for the VCS for 30 years before retiring in 2013 and I can tell you that then and now the VCS gives back to the Veterans and is a major supporter in the Veterans games. VCS is my home away from home.”
“Located at Damariscotta Hannaford in the Deli, made fresh every single day by great people who work hard to make their customers happy, stop by Hannaford today to pick up delicious fresh sushi!Vegetarian options: Lettuce wraps with veggies”
“Ordered 2 - 10" pizzas and a 14" pizza to go. Got back to my friend's place and opened the boxes - wonderful aromas and wonderful pizzas. We all had a great dinner that night. So filling, we have leftovers for lunch the next day (lol).”
“Little family owned place on the edges of town. The food was amazing and the staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The crab Rangoon brought me back to the good Ole days of Chinese takeout. The teriyaki steak was...crispy...which was weird.”
“Solid Chinese food with reasonable prices. I've gotten take-out & delivery from here multiple times in the past 6 years. The portions are generous and the flavors are good. The quality isn't always consistent - specifically the fried foods. But overall, it's good and I continue to choose it over the other Augusta-area Chinese restaurants.”
