“Upon entering the restaurant we found the decor to be warm and inviting. We had a 5:30pm reservation, were sat immediately, and provided a glass milk bottle filled with cold fresh water. We ordered our drinks; two Apple Press’ and Substance on draft. The Apple Press was a well designed cocktail! During our visit we also ordered a mojito and an espresso martini, which were equally wonderful! For dinner we ordered a Rosemary Chicken Pie, Brick Chicken and the House BBQ. The food was levels above anything we’ve had at other restaurants in the area. Everything is homemade and seasoned to perfection with large portions that will more than satisfy your appetite. We ordered a slice of Espresso Cream Cheesecake to go. Throughout our visit, our server Michaela, was attentive and it was clear she cared about making our experience a great one! We will be enjoying many more meals at Yolked Farm to Table. Hint: Make sure you make a reservation if you want to ensure a table. The restaurant filled up quickly while we were there and stayed full.“

“The visit was amazing however one teenager in the next both from us could have had a quieter conversation of her mental health and sexual experiences. The entire section could hear this girl. No one complained so it just continued. Any other time I've been here its been a great experience. Gotta take good with the bad I guess.“

“We like coming to this place! Will return! But just a few recommendations to really make it a better! 1. Tenderize the chicken!! The chicken tenders are so dense, chewy and huge almost difficult to eat, smaller cut tenders would be better! 2. Cut the chicken in the wraps much smaller! 3. Dust! Such a pretty building but you can visibly see the dust collecting on the beams and lighting.“

“Some like old antique places and find them charming. I do not. Our server was wonderful in my opinion and the food runners. All food was prepared well. My issue was amount of options and flavors. Interesting flavors did not love. Quality preparation. Very few drink options if you aren’t drinking alcohol. Their menu rotates so maybe it’s better on a different menu.“

“Loved this spot! It was magical and cozy during the Christmas season. Mikey was a fantastic bartender and gave awesome drink recommendations then ensured we were happy with what we ordered. Let me tell you, WE WERE! I had the spiked salt yard latte and it was absolutely delicious, the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. The espresso was freshly and ground and you could tell! We also split an order of fries that were super fresh, and we were obsessed with the garlic dipping sauce. I look forward to visiting again next time I’m hanging out in Portland!“

“I love this place and go maybe once a month with my son. We get a cigar, a beer or two, and usually burgers or some similar food.\nWhile the menu is not extensive, portions and prices are fair and the food is surprisingly good. I never come away from here hungry. \nI have been going here since I moved to maine in 1995 and now that I live 50 miles away in NH, after nearly 30 years i still enjoy coming to this place. Ali, the owner, is there every day, and is a fascinating guy to chat with. \nThe beauty of Calabash, is that it is not PC, this is a place that has managed to survive despite asinine regulations and restrictions on adult behavior; there is, to me, something civilized about having a cigar with a good meal. “This place is great for room service or eating in the restaurant. Friendly staff, friendly guests, and multiple comfortable places to sit and chill. I stay at the adjacent hotel 3+ times a year because of the food options, bar and location.“

“Unreal sandwich — as messy as it is good. The North Shore didn’t stand a chance; I absolutely dummied it. Friendly staff, beer on tap, and a chill setup with a few tables but mostly bar seating and standing room. Never ate 8 ounces of beef so fast in my life. If you’re in Portland and craving a proper sandwich, Roasty’s is a must.“

“Last month our flight to Portland was delayed a considerable amount of time due to weather issues and it looked as though we would not be able to make our 5p.m. reservation. My daughter called from the tarmac in Boston where we were rerouted and refueled and explained the situation. The hostess, Susie, was very understanding and compassionate And said that even though our table was booked for another party a 7, we should come in and she would see what she could do. We got there late but Susie greeted us warmly and told us not to worry about being rushed that she had arranged things so no one would be inconvenienced. The atmosphere was warm and cozy; the food so very delicious and our waitperson, Anika, was the best. Atmosphere, impeccable service, food and warmth all rate 5 stars and another visit next time we are in Portland.“

But what made the experience even more special was the incredible team behind it. Kate and her staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large wedding and made the entire day smoother and even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. “This place absolutely blew me away. For starters we tried the mussels with french fries and aioli dip, pumpkin bisque, and the maple oatmeal bread with maple brown butter. Every single bite was perfection. For our entrees, the mushroom tagliatelle, and veal ragù were rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We topped it all off with some Walnut Block wine, pure heaven!

It was my first time in Maine, and fell in love. The food, the flavors, the ambience, everything was incredible. Watching the chefs work in the open kitchen felt like being part of a live Netflix cooking show. I’m officially obsessed.“

“I loved my salad and the service was good. The place is quite large (and not very busy) but there were long periods of time without service. Not our servers fault. Our booth was very nice and roomy but not visable to the rest of the restaurant. Our server really seemed to care. I was a little annoyed that the “free refillable sodas” that came with the kids’ meals was only for certain sodas. Not clear on the menu and not explained when we ordered. The kids would have been happy with cokes or sprites. $22 later on soda, when the bill came, we realized sofas weren’t so free. I don’t mind spending money but hate wasting it.“

Our server Eric was awesome from start to finish. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel and absolutely loved it. I had the butternut squash linguine with prosciutto, roasted squash, arugula, and their homemade crostini bread… incredible. I even saved half so I could enjoy it again another day. Hubby tried two of their 5oz beers (Space Ghost and Santa’s Reinbeer) and enjoyed both. But the show-stealer? The apple crisp cheesecake. 🍎 Hubby took one bite and said, “This is so good it should be outlawed.” And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. It was ridiculous in the best way. We left talking about how we’re glad we live two hours away, because we’d be here every day if we didn’t. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. We were full with three small plates especially since the fried chicken (not what you would expect) was a substantial portion. My brother in law had the sirloin steak, done to perfection!
I had the Baked Pork Chop not dried out, actually juicy and loaded baked potato excellent.
My sister had the chicken, again very good.
It was early for lunch, but the service was excellent, our server very attentive, but not overly so.
It was quiet, so we could carry on a conversation, without loosing the conversation.
I would recommend it during off peak hours as I was told by a regular, they can get very busy.“
