“By far our favorite restaurant in the Midcoast area. Always delicious food and great service. If you need gluten free options this is the place.”

“Let me put the cart before the horse and tell you this was one of the best, if not the best, experiences I have had at a restaurant. Corrinna was lovely. She took time to explain to this uninitiated wine consumer the differences between wines, glasses, and tasting, as well as pairing with foods. Speaking of food, this was also splendid. We started with oysters, which was a first, calamari, pork belly, arancini, and focaccia that melted in your mouth. My main course was the Swordfish with sweet potato puree, fingerling, and swordfish "bacon" jam. This is a silent gem that I selfishly stays quiet for my purposes, but Back River Bistro needs to be visited by anyone who loves a small curated dining experience. Much success to Matt & Corrinna. It is much deserved.”
“What an amazing hidden spot! Wish we had found this years ago! We come here once a year on vacation. Pepper is a wonderful conversationalist, and so friendly! Every beer we tried was excellent, and the food was amazing. We took some beer to go as well!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We are from upstate New York. ~Rob and Janet Dandrow”

“Nice friendly place. We stopped for dinner on Saturday night. Everything was lovely and tasty and met some nice people. Just realized today Thursday that I may have left a bag there realized today that I might have left a bag there. Called and sure enough they had found it in parking lot. Thank you so much Will definitely be back with friends. I had already mentioned it to some friends”

“My wife and I have been searching high and low for a top-shelf dining experience in Maine since we arrived. Today, we drove 2-1/2 hours from Bar Harbor to Wiscasset to eat at “In a Silent Way.” It exceeded all expectations. James Beard-level food and wine. From the oysters to the steak tartare and raspberry panna cotta, everything was magnificent. Well worth the drive. Confident sharing, In a Silent Way, is the most elevated food in Maine. And lovely service as well. Gushing.”
“The wait was an hour. But it was well WORTH the time. They don’t measure or weigh the lobster. They just load it up. I had leftovers. I have a healthy appetite but I couldn’t finish it all. I opted to not even eat the majority of the roll. It was tasty with the awesome warm butter that is served with it. This was my first visit but not my last. Awesome hard working folks.”

“Ive been driving by for 4 years and finally saw they were open. One reviews mentioned cash only so I brought cash. Ordering via phone after I placed my order the man said see you in 20 minutes, cash only. I said okay. It sounded a little rude but that's okay. When I got there the guy was super friendly and older and so I let him keep the change from my $20 for the $15 large sausage pizza. It felt on the lighter side because it's very thin pizza. It was okay pizza for Maine but not good enough for me to order again. Very nice people though and I don't think their pricing is too expensive. I just didn't think it was super great and my Dad agreed when he tried a slice.”

“They always have some of the best fried food around, especially the onion rings!!!
The scallops portion seemed a little small at first, but the cook noticed the same and brought out a few more, which made me feel they cared about their food and customers. I stop here every year after Monkey C, and you should too!
The crab roll is also good 👍”

“We love the Marketplace for breakfast, especially their cinnamon bun or potato pancake specials. However, now they are open for dinner Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Great menu and great specials. The Italian fish special last week was outstanding. Compared to other restaurants it is very inexpensive. I highly recommend it.”

“Was down in the Wiscasset area antiquing & decided to stop in to the Taste of Orient. Usually try to go there whenever we are down in the area. as usual we were very happy with the food, service . it was delicious & even had some to take home. The crab rangoons were delicious. The best we've ever tasted. Would definitely recommend. Will be back again when in the area.”

“The service was fantastic, the staff persons moved through the lunch rush with relative ease and got people in and out quickly. I had a chicken salad on italian herb and cheese, which was pretty good. I did find the chicken tasted a bit salty but everything else was delicious. The prices seem to be in the mid range for area subs.”

“The food was amazing! We had the Creekstone Steak and Monkfish and were not disappointed, both were done to perfection! The wine 🍷 was perfect (house favorite was our’s as well) We did not have time for dessert (concert at the Boothbay Harbor Opera House) but we will on our next visit 😊 Definitely one of our new favorites in the Midcoast area!”

“Wow this place so far exceeded expectations from minute one. We came in with my elderly aunt and everyone was so attentive and helpful. The hostess was able to get us seated in the tavern area fairly quickly in spite of them being very busy. The atmosphere was very interesting and there were intricate chalk drawings on the walls. The noise level was quieter than I would expect in a pub atmosphere so we were able to chat. The food was incredible, the oysters were super fresh and my only suggestion is to serve these with fresh lemon. For an entree I had French onion soup and a toasted mini baguette and it was delicious. My husband had the chicken which was also delicious and my aunt had the fish and chips which she seemed very pleased with.”

“WOW!!! We’ve been coming to the region for so many years and it’s so great to find a place to eat like Oysterhead Pizza Co.!!! 4 of us ordered takeout. Pizza, a Calzone, a salad, the Magic Beans… everything was perfectly delicious. Fresh, tasty… we’re from NJ where people think you can’t get good pizza unless you’re in NJ/NY. Last night while eating our amazing food from Oysterhead Pizza Co., I could tell them all: Get in your cars and drive to Damariscotta for some of the pizza ever!!! We will be back for sure!!!”

“A local bartender recommended this coffee shop for a quick breakfast and it did not disappoint. Had a delicious pistachio latte and a maple snail, arguably the best pastry I’ve ever had. Wish I lived closer so I could stop by regularly!”

“The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. The owner and staff are the friendliest people you could ever meet. They make you feel like family as soon as you walk in. We will be eating here for a long time!”
“Who would’ve thought one of the best meals I’d have in Maine would come from a pizza spot in a converted work trailer? Vera Idyllic Pizza is an absolute gem on the side of the road. We stopped by twice in four days because the pizza was that good. The cheese and BBQ chicken pizzas were both amazing — fresh, flavorful, and with the best dough I’ve ever had. The setup is simple but really well done, and you can tell they put care into everything. Forget the lobster — this is the place you’ll be craving again and again. AJ from Buffalo”

“As a regular and a big fan of the menu and the food, I was terribly disappointed to find several signature items missing from the menu yesterday. No more crabmeat items?! No more salmon BLTs?! The new owner explained that he can’t make money on them because they are too expensive…. Eider’s food was expensive to begin with, but always worth it and always something to talk about. Why d*** it down?”
