“Food and atmosphere have always been great. However, lately the pizza sauce flavor has declined. In addition - the side salad is terrible. A bowl of dry spring mix with a few tomatoes and a handful of cheese. Flavorless. A better mix of greens - add some romaine and iceberg, toss on a couple cucumbers. Meatballs! Yum!“

“I rarely leave reviews, but our service that last two visits deserve it! Our kids love the free popcorn and card games. We love the food and drinks, and June is the best bartender and waitress! She reminded us what real hospitality feels like, remembers us and our orders from previous visits, and made real connections with our teens. We'll definitely be back on nights when she's working!“

“Everything at Gin Gin’s is top notch; from the food to the service to the atmosphere. It is easily the best restaurant in GR! Downside is that it’s hard to get in. You have to get there at open if you don’t have a reservation and if you need a reservation I’d recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially on the weekends.“

We split a dessert that we all didn’t care for. The General Manager Sheena came over immediately and offered us to try something different. She brought us a new dessert. “Today my wife and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time and said to ourselves “we moved here in 2024 and are now just trying it. Wish we did earlier.”

We were very happy with everything from the time we entered to the time we left and here is why…

1. Staff - all that we interacted with were very kind, nice, helpful, and attentive. Our waitress was well versed in the menu and did a great job. We enjoyed having her serve us.

2. Food - today we went right for the entree (skipped apps) and could have been more pleased.

My chicken strips and tots were done to a crispy golden perfection that I just loved with the BBQ sauce they served. Highly recommend.

My wife said her burger was excellent and the loaded tots were so good she could have had them just on their own.

And the prices were very reasonable yet, worth it.

3. Atmosphere - a sports bar with many TVs for fans to watch the game (myself included) is a perfect atmosphere for me but when you go to converse with others, it’s always perfect when nothing over powers your conversation.

By this I mean the TVs were not blaring and neither was music. It was a calm easy going feel where we both could enjoy great conversation without saying “huh? Can’t hear you.”

All in all, we may have waited a few years before trying Big E’s on Beltline in Grand Rapids but better late then never. We will be back and recommend it to anyone interested.“

“Alyssa the bartender was amazing!! I didn't get any alcohol but I did try the new dirty soda in Dr Pepper and the blue Mountain Dew, both were so good. And that's coming from someone who normally orders water exclusively! Overall great atmosphere. I want to come to this location many times more.“

“This restaurant came recommend to me as the best steakhouse in Grand Rapids. I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly (Kathryn) and answered all my questions. The atmosphere is perfect for a fancy date. Very romantic setting to impress. I don't drink alcohol and they had an alcohol free 0% Giasen Merlot which was exquisite. I started with French Onion Soup and Cheese Popover Muffins. For an entree, I had Australian Rib Lamb Chops with a Mint Demi Glase. For a side, I enjoyed Brussels Sprouts with Honey Dijon Mustard Sause. Everything exceeded my expectations and the Merlot paired nicely with the Lamb Chops. I highly recommend the Chop House as a must visit dining destination in the heart of Grand Rapids.“

But what I really want to rave about is how wonderful their service and hospitality was. We had a lovely hand written note at our table wishing us a happy anniversary. Multiple people told us happy anniversary. Our server, Ericka, she was real genuine and nice and at the end of our dinner she brought us a vase of flowers. - Cheeseburger Basket - $11.75: The cheeseburger was taken from a warmer. The cheese was melted, but solid and stuck to the bun and tore the bun while trying to add toppings that were given separate from the cheeseburger. The toppings were very fresh and crisp, however. The burger patty was still juicy and cooked good. The bun was still soft and fresh.

- Fries (included in basket): Crinkle cut and on the thinner side. They cooled really fast and were tough. Eat them immediately. They needed a bit of salt, too.

- Super Pretzel - $6: Soft inside and lots of salt. It was on the darker side and tough, but okay.

- Service: Fairly immediate and helpful.

- Conclusion: You are mainly paying for convenience here. It is not bad, but it is nothing much to write home about. The burger was okay.
