“We went to the Mudpenny in Ada for dinner. It was probably the worst food ever presented. The trout was overcooked almost to a dried consistency, the grain had wimpy mushrooms and no taste, completely left off the tomatoes, the drink was very small and over priced. We feel robbed!!!! The bill was split and it came to just under $50.oo for each person!! What a joke!! I want my money back!!“

“Wow! My wife and I celebrated our 16 year wedding anniversary here tonight. The food, absolutely amazing! Drinks, amazing! But what I really want to rave about is how wonderful their service and hospitality was. We had a lovely hand written note at our table wishing us a happy anniversary. Multiple people told us happy anniversary. Our server, Ericka, she was real genuine and nice and at the end of our dinner she brought us a vase of flowers. This was hands down the best dining experience we have had. Thanks for making this an enjoyable and rememberable night for us.“

“We are a Greek family and love the Greek dishes that Leo's Coney Island offers. We have dined there frequently, often bring friends. The food is always good and the service fantastic. That being said; however, we have decided not to dine there any longer during the cold months, as the owner chooses to keep the dining room quite frigid. We heat our home at 68 degrees and are comfortable at that temp. We have tried mutliptle visits to Leo's Coney Island this winter...and each time the dining room has always been uncomfortablly chilly. When we pay to go out to eat, dining with our winter coats on and still being cold is not a relaxing or enjoyable dining experience. We gave it another try last night visiting around 5:30pm (hoping the furnace was turned up). The dining area was extremely C-O-L-D! This could be why there were not many customers there? We asked the waitress if the heat could be turned up, and she replied, "No, the only person allowed to adjust the temperature is the owner, and he is not here". NOTE to Owner: Saving money by turning down the heat in the cold of winter does not provide a pleasant dining experience for your customers and certainly cannot be good for your business! “This was our first visit to the Nighthawk Grill & Bar. We did not know what to expect and it was definitely busy. Our server was outstanding, managing all the tables that she was in charge of. My wife had potato skins and enjoyed them and I had the cordon bleu chicken sandwich with chips which was very tasty. Their homemade chips are definitely outstanding, you do not need to upgrade to French fries. We will be back.“

“We arrived mid afternoon and split the “Two meat meal.” We chose fried chicken and fried catfish with green beans and candied yams (what, do you think we’d come to The Candied Yam and NOT order candied yams?). We were also able to have some of their Mac and cheese.

The chicken and catfish were delicious! The chicken was especially temperature hot and juicy, but I have to say that I liked the catfish even more!

The yams and Mac and cheese were excellent as well! The green beans were done in a Southern style, by which I mean cooked until very soft. Tasty, but personally I prefer them al dente with a more firm texture.

I believe this location does mostly take out orders so the dining area is limited in size and decor. But you’re here for the homemade recipes that did not disappoint! You owe it to yourself to give The Candied Yam a try!“

Everything was perfectly prepared and packaged well for the drive. All the extras were there in abundance: butter and sour cream for the baked potato, dressing for the salad, lemon wedges for the salmon, and of course, BISCUITS! Our meals were both delicious.
