“Cracker Barrel was a family favorite for many years. Over the last several years it seemed to decline at most locations that we tried. Recently we decided to give it a try again while in Okemos, MI. It was excellent. Everything from the food to the staff was better than ever! We liked it so well we went back the next day.“

“I live in LA and visit twice a year. Summer and Christmas. Each time I get to the River house twice. It’s THAT good. Patio is gorgeous. On the river. Peaceful. Comfortable. “EDIT: My review won't change, as I am only commenting on my experience at this location/on this day/at this time, however, I would like to make note of the labor disputes. Owners need to pay their workers a fair wage, treat them like the human beings they are instead of tools for profit. After the settlement, I hope the future is bright for the employees at every location and that they receive the respect they deserve. Consider stopping by for lunch, and tip your server well; a fat tip is always a way to support the people, not the company.

ORIGINAL: My friend and I came in at 4pm. Sammy was incredibly kind and quick to greet us. We were seated right away. The train car is a severely overlooked highlight. I've seen some complaints that it is too tiny, to which I say: you have never been in a train. Tables are close together but I would not describe it as close enough to share food with the other patrons--some of you are bitter and overdramatic.

The service was incredible. Sammy was attentive, quick to take our drink order, quick to get our app order in, and let us rest to decide. She has a natural sense of when to approach the table, providing friendly service without overwhelming patrons. She was incredible, and really sweet!

The food was insane, in the best way. The everything pretzel bites came out fresh and hot, and we savored every bite. The provided dips complimented the savory flavor of the pretzels very well. I ordered the mac and cheese large plate, which was reasonably priced for the amount I got. It was rich and creamy, but not overbearing--which I greatly appreciate in a mac and cheese. My friend got the grilled cheese (apple, gouda, honey sriracha, and bacon on sourdough), he described it as a well balanced flavor explosion. Although he enjoys grilled chicken sandwiches with mayo and cheese (?), based on his description: "it's tart and sweet with the apple, smoky with the bacon, rich from the cheese, but rounded out by the tangy sourdough," I feel I can trust him this once.

If you're skeptical because of bad reviews, ignore that mess and give this place a try. Order what sounds new and fun and you won't regret it. (We didn't get drinks this time around but I recommend Blake's Cider Mill Donut Cider!)

“Food, atmosphere and service was great! Only glitch was the restrooms. I am handicapped and went to the ladies room only to find narrow stalls and no bars to aid me on and off the stool. After much difficulty I managed to do my business. Upon exiting the bathroom, I noticed a sign to the right on the wall that indicated a handicap restroom, apparently located in the next room around the corner. I mentioned this to my fellow senior guests who come here often, and they were not aware there was a handicapped accessible restroom. Maybe they need to post a sign on the regular restroom doors that a handicap accessible bathroom is available around the corner. That' sign on the wall is not very effective.

“My family and I went for the first time on Valentine’s Day for lunch and we were greeted with friendly warm smiles from the employees. So many great options to choose from the menu! I got the Greek wrap and it was phenomenal, from the warm pita to the fresh veggies and the chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly! The homemade chips were salty and fried the way I prefer them! Another reason I would recommend Grand Grillin is because they are affordable you get a loaded wrap with chips and drink for only $9.50! Great deal for the quality of the food and service! We had a great experience and will be back many more times to come!“

I went back inside to let the staff know, and they went to the manager to show him What was wrong. Ali was The manager on duty and was very apologetic and made it right immediately. I appreciate his diligence and his willingness to make sure that the customer was happy and I left very satisfied. “for a quick bite this place is awesome. we got there 10 minutes to close and was able to sit down to eat. we had a wonderful hot meal of rueban combo and gyro combo. the server service was prompt, friendly and helpful we never did catch her name. we were in and out in roughly 30 minutes if sitting down. they have a limited menu compared to other locations but the usual suspects are available. parking is in ramp or street per usual east Lansing downtown.“

“We celebrated my father in law tonight . He passed away seven weeks ago and today was his birthday . We loved working with Tina. She was very accommodating and the back room was perfect! Our servers, Natalie and Paige were amazing ! They were professional and hard working . We ordered from their catering menu . The cost was so reasonable and the down payment comes off the menu. “Since we have been there our first time this is our go to family restaurant when we are in the East Lansing area. Taking two toddlers out to a restaurant can be a pain, even when they behave decently but Coral Gables has an environment where we can stretch out, take our time, and still get to eat. On top of that the food is delicious.“

“A great place to go for a drink and some fabulous food. Visiting family in Mason and decided to take the whole crew. Great variety of drinks with some locally produced options as well. Everyone devoured their food - appetizers of Mozzarella Cheese stick and delicious Steak bites!!! Definitely recommend. Early dinners of Chef Salad (huge and loaded with ham &turkey), great variety of grinders, special of day soup - Pepperjack crab and half sandwich - excellent, Burger was ordered medium rare and was perfectly cooked with side of sweet potato fries (yum) and the kids loved their Mac & cheese, corn dogs and fries.
Can sit outside on the patio if noise is a problem (what bar/dining establishment isn't loud at times) BUT food, service and friendly atmosphere more than makes up for that!
A must visit.“
