“Have been going her for at least 40 years if not longer. The food is absolutely wonderful. The ambience inside the restaurant is very comfortable and most relaxing. The only bad thing is they have not fixed the men's bathroom in over a year, maybe longer. We women do not enjoy sharing a bathroom with men who pea on the floor and also on the toilet seat. We want our bathroom back!“

They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. “I was fortunate to find this hidden gem. I was the first customer on Friday, September 4 and I felt love and warmth as soon as I walked in the door.

I inquired about the history and found they opened almost in the midst of COVID and experienced a few struggles.

The salmon croquette patties were so flavorful. The honey biscuit and truffles fries were top notch. The dine-in service was wonderful.

“The chicken and gnocchi soup was delicious, I'm glad that it comes with free refills. Unfortunately the restaurant was experiencing a breadstick shortage so we couldn't get breadsticks until after our entrées had arrived. My entrée of chicken alfredo with broccoli seemed like they forgot to actually put the Alfredo sauce on the noodles (see picture), so that was disappointing; however the grilled chicken slices on that entrée were good.“

I didn't realize it was there until I saw my bank account charge, and customer service is an email note with zero actual human interaction. Also, the staff members were having a full on friend conversation with a customer, and made my wife stand there for several minutes, waiting to pick up the food.“

The fish was well cooked and seasoned, the chicken was great with nice sized tasty shrimp. Everything was clean and the cashier was nice. I've been searching for a good place like this to eat at and I am glad that I found Ray's and I will be back.“
