The crust had a beautiful roasted finish, topped with parmesan and a bright lemony vinaigrette that made the whole dish stand out. They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. We were welcomed so warmly, all of the staff greeted us and gave is their insight on what’s popular and what they recommend.

The food was out together production-line style yet every bite was delicious. The vegetables were crips and fresh. The chicken was still not and perfectly seasoned and the rice was an aromatic base to the meal.

As we were leaving we were asked what we thought and how the staff recommendations worked out for us; my answer, 10/10.

“The perfect Coney experience. Staff is very welcoming, warming every guest that walks into the building. Always smiling and being positive.

Food was some of the best in the area bacon not overly crispy, but just chewy enough. Hash browns I often find not well done enough; Heftys in this case makes them perfect, which are golden as well as fluffy.

“I noticed the all-you-can-eat promotion but knew I wouldn’t eat that much, so I went with a smaller plate instead. I ordered the cheese tortellini with Alfredo and chicken, but it was disappointing. There wasn’t enough sauce, and the flavor was off, way too salty. The chicken didn’t taste great either, and I wasn’t even given the option to choose grilled chicken. The breadsticks were just average.

I’ve seen better feedback on their red sauce dishes, so maybe those are a safer choice. I was also let down that they don’t offer pesto or cacio e pepe, which are usually my go-to options.“

For years the spiral cut French fries have been my favorite fries at any fast casual chain. Yesterday I was at Royal Oak and the fries have changed for the worse. There is a new batter style and they were too salty. Please bring back the old fries!!!“
