“I wanted my family and I to try a new & special place to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and this place was amazing. Beautifully plated, ultra-delicious, special flare, authentic food. Kind & friendly staff. Cool atmosphere, family friendly. Easy parking. Proud that this place represents our Mexican heritage. No gimmicks, everything about this place made me feel like I actually was in a modern day restaurant in Mexico.“

“Good food, nice staff. I carried out and ordered the nachos, once. The beans and cheese were missing from the order, which was inconvenient but stuff happens. I didn't realize it till I got home. The staff took care of it and were professional and courteous. They made me a new batch and gave me extra sides for the order I took originally. So I ended up with 2 orders. They were both delicious! Lol... I will go back for sure.“

I popped in just to pick up someone else’s order (yes, I was the food fairy 🧚🏽♀️), and even without tasting a single bite, I already know this spot is about to become my new go-to. This place? AUTHENTIC with a capital “A.” From the smell of freshly grilled tortillas to the warm welcome from the owner (who told me they’ve been rocking it for 5 YEARS?!), I was sold instantly. Like… how have I been sleeping on this?! 😩 The decor? Simple but real. It’s giving “don’t judge a taco by its tortilla.” And even though I didn’t eat (YET), let me tell you something: if vibes had flavor, I already know this food SLAPS. “The food was delicious. Had the beef and the carne asada tacos with chips and guac. First, these chips are store-made, flavored and delicious. Corn tortillas, which I love, for the tacos that are fried or heated, so not like a the other restaurant corn tortillas. It is best to order online or have a little patience in-person. “This is a true hidden gem. The place is nice and cozy, good music and good people. The servers are friendly and happy, and the food is delicious. “While I love the flavor of their food, the only time we've had an order 100% correct was the first time we ordered. Every time we order since then there's something missing, fries overcooked and hard, messed up items, and things added to what we've ordered when we've requested it to be removed. Thankfully I simply don't like tomatoes and onions and am not allergic to them, cuz they ALWAYS forget to remove the pico when my receipt even says "no pico de gallo". Their queso blanco and their Sabor sauce are probably the two best things about them, at least when they remember to include it even if you pay for extra. For how pricey they are I would expect to have my order correct all the time. I'll be going down to the taco trucks in Southwest Detroit from now on cuz they always get the order right, they're delicious, AND they're inexpensive.“

“First time trying it and let me say I regret not trying it sooner. I was a bit hesitant but Chris was extremely helpful and made so many great recommendations. I had the quesadillas (chicken), chips and queso. The dessert was over the top. When I say I am not typically a big eater I tried some of everything. The best part the servings were ample enough I have left overs for a day or two. In addition to Chris the staff was welcoming and friendly. I will be back. Chris needs a raise for doing an amazing job!!“

They were incredibly easy to work with, organized, timely, and professional while providing delicious food! Our guest raved about their tacos and served food very quickly. “Worst Mexican food I've ever had ,lunch for myself and girlfriend 32.00 ,1 fajita which was no bigger than a soft taco and beans $18 unreal food was very bland and just no taste whatsoever portions were very small very disappointed in the quality will never be back“

“Blown away by how good this was. Was craving Mexican food for a good while and never really noticed Taqueria Alma was in my city. Ordered a Wet Burrito Dinner which came out to be $12.71. Fantastic service and food.
The whole meal was fresh and piping hot, the chicken was delicious, and it was an extremely affordable meal. Before I received my order, a customer inside let the cashier know that it was the best tacos he'd eaten and I'm glad I took his word for it- it seriously was that good. This meal came with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, beans and rice on the sides.
If you're ever in the mood for an affordable meal or you're in the area and wanting something delicious to eat, Taqueria Alma is there for you.“
