“The actual place itself seemed clean. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars was due to the cleanliness of plates. They're incredibly sticky and don't seem like they've been properly washed through an industrial dishwasher (my plate had food on it still). Service was relatively fast but nobody checked back in again after we placed our order. Although, our entire order did come out in about 7 minutes. The food overall was definitely phenomenal. My boyfriend and I came here due to reading reviews on Yelp. The Chicken Yaki udon noodles were incredibly flavorful. The portion was definitely worth the $15. The vegetables were cooked just enough that it wasn't too soft, but still had a slight crunch when biting into the dish. The Michigan Roll was a 6/10. We were thrown by the small slice of lemon that was on top. Whenever we picked a piece up, the roll would fall apart so it wasn't properly wrapped. The Cobra Roll was by far our favorite. It had the perfect amount of soft shell crab with eel, avocado, and crab salad. The sauce that was drizzled on top paired with it perfectly. Take some ginger and also let it all melt in your mouth.“

We USED to have a favorite place for sushi....but it has been replaced. “Took wife for a late Birthday celebration. Front of house host were "meh". Not very welcoming to us or others that I observed as well. Our server was decent. Other servers were vibrant and engaged with their tables. Being that my wife handed her a printout for her birthday, she didn't receive it nor anything else that may have pertained to the simple fact that this dinner was her celebration.Will we return? Possibly. If so, no time too soon.“
“Outstanding Sushi: Expertly prepared and delicious, Nami Sushi serves some of the best sushi I've had in the US. The eel avacado roll, a requested variation of their eel cucumber roll, was the tastiest I've had anywhere in 5+ years, maybe ever. If you haven't tried the Omusubi, make sure to order one of these finely crafted triangular pockets of rice with yummy fillings. Or enjoy one of their fresh Donburi Bowls. Everything we've had has been good. The owners are nice and aim to please. I don't normally eat at food trucks or trailers, but this is my one no-brainer exception. A+.“

“My sister and I had a 5pm reservation but the people at our table were taking quite a while to leave. The Manager and Madison our waitress were so very kind. They had us sit at the juice bar and enjoy a free drink and appetizer while we waited. Madison took great care of us and our cook was really good. The food was so delicious. It was my birthday and I truly enjoyed the whole experience. We'll be back and definitely recommend our friends and family try this great new restaurant.“

“I’m not in this area much but I would absolutely come back here. I would put them up against Benihana any day. The food was fresh and the wait was about 20 minutes because of how popular it was. Many people called their order in and picked up, but we walked in. There are 4 tables that seat 4 people, and they were nicely spaced out.“

“I'd had sushi maybe once from Tai Fai and though good hadnt thought of them again. Im in the area on a monday and decide to get sushi takeout ( no dine on here). Its on 9 mile west of downtown in a small strip mall. It's tiny and does a busy takeout. Lots of sushi and korean variety. The sushi box was beautiful. “I love this place!!!!! if you want some pretty legit casual japanese AND Korean food.... this place is fantastic! the staff/ownership are super nice, the food is real, what more could you ask for? had the takoyaki today and holy moly was that awesome. tempura avacado with honey is delicious. bibimbap in the hot stone bowl is top notch. katsu curry rules. obviously their sushi is well made sushi. but there's so much more to this place than sushi. the wife enjoys the chicken fried rice. I always go in craving sushi and end up getting more. I've been going here since it opened.“
“I recommend 888 but ONLY when Michelle is working. My boyfriend & I went in last night & of course it’s a night when Michelle isn’t working (she doesn’t work fridays but at the time i didn’t know) There is 5 other tables in there so we are patient (i’m a server myself, i know it’s hard to deal with so many tables at once) but i noticed almost everybody around us already had there food. (maybe 1/5 tables didn’t have their food) We sat down, 2 mins later she comes to give us our menus, we come here pretty often so we don’t need menus & the stuff we wanted weren’t on those menus anyways, it was on the appetizer menu on the table. 10 mins passes by, nothing. she walks past us 2 times & we don’t even have drinks yet, we set the menus at the end of the table indicating we were ready to order when she had the chance. another 5 mins passes by, she checks on the table next to us / behind us & still does not say a word to us. at this point i’m aggravated because this is 3 times she’s walked past, we’re about 20 mins in & we don’t even have DRINKS yet. end of story, we walked out, like i said, im a server myself & having your table sit there for 20+ mins & not even asking for their drink order is terrible service. Anyways, again, i ONLY recommend going to 888 when michelle is working, maybe she needs to be put on Fridays instead of the other girl.“
“My daughter and I wanted some sushi for dinner and we found this nice sushi restaurant not far from our house. The selection of sushi was good and the service was great. Folks were very attentive when serving us. Prices were not bad at all. I had the rock and roll sushi and my daughter had the California rolls. We also enjoyed looking at the fishes they have in an actual pond in the restaurant. Highly recommended and we are definitely coming back.“

“We came across this restaurant by accident and we like this place. We were looking for ramen but end up ordering a lot more than noodles. Now they are a bit more upscale than fast food but pricing is still reasonable.All in all the food is yummy and service is friendly.“
“Parking: Location is in a mini strip, on busier days and times, the parking lot is quite full. However, on average, it is not difficult to find parking. Plus, if you don't mind walking, you can park on the side street next to the restaurant.“
“Sakana is always so nice and quiet when I go. Never too many people inside so you can chill out while you're there. There's booths, soft lounge chairs in back, and a bar near the front. The house sake is nice and warm, good service, dim lights but the big window lets natural light in for everyone.“

I've become well-acquainted with the staff members over the years, and they're undeniably hardworking yet can be personable during the slower hours. I'm a POC, and have dealt with issues of racism from other fine dining restaurants in the area-- but their service has always made me feel extremely welcome. The menu items are on the higher end, but the service, food, and cleanliness of the restaurant make every experience worth it. This is the perfect place to go on first dates, birthdays, anniversaries, and family events. I cannot stress enough that you MUST try this place!!“
