“I really enjoyed my birthday dinner here. Our waitress checked on us often. We were greeted with a smile and heartfelt customer service. The ambiance is so unique, it’s incredible. You can tell they take pride in the small details. The only thing was that the food portions weren’t enough to get full off of. But that’s common for this type of cuisine“

“I was excited about a Japanese restaurant in the city of Detroit.The fried chicken and edamame were delicious, but the other robatayaki and seafood dishes had a smell, which I don't know if they were using old ingredients or transfer from the refrigerator smell, I was disappointed.They should store food properly...I was even more disappointed because their service and restaurant atmosphere was really great.“
“Food was delicious! Lives up to the “best Chinese in midtown” quo! Everything was satisfying and the service was amazing! Will definitely be coming back here upon revisiting the city! If you’re a veggie lover I recommend the lettuce wraps! Also the dim sum is awesome! So much fun and variety! Lots of yummy things to try!!! 10/10Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from! You also have the option to make the curry dishes vegetarian as well. “I’m so picky and maru hits every-time. Our waitress Vanessa today was adorable, ambiance is a 10/10. The sushi guys sing and bring the best vibes!! Perfect for 21+ date nightupdate 2/20 I keep coming back i’ve been here at least 12 times in the last 12 months. I have so many good thing to say about Maru and Venessa, we had here again tonight ❤️❤️— with that being said I am BEGGING the new :) chef to switch the crème brûlée from the eggnog flavor. It was delicious, perfectly prepared! The staff is polite and kind! I made wonderful friends just by sitting at the bar! I will certainly return!“

“Maru is a trendy restaurant with a lot of space. It was dead on a Wednesday night. I was able to find paid street parking around the corner without too much hassle. I ordered the strawberry basil lemonade mocktail and found it to be too sweet. The hibachi chicken was good but the rice was a little too salty. I liked the yum yum sauce and the large veggie portion. The service was good.“
“I stopped by the downtown location on my way to work…the cashier was very patient as it was obviously my first time visiting. I ordered the tuna lover’s bowl, with diced spicy tuna instead of the ground version. I love the different options for veggies and sauces! I definitely recommend the citrus ponzu sauce and the gochujang sauce. The fish and vegetables were super fresh.The manager, Nour, was very kind and gave me a bubble tea to try. I’m particular about textures and I was wary because I’ve had boba with the chewy bubbles (not a fan). Nour made me a strawberry tea with mango popping bubbles and it was AMAZING! I will definitely be coming back.“
“I really enjoyed my appetizers, the Spicy Tofu Bites and the Pork Gyoza. Each was full of distinct flavors, with great textures too. My college age freshman also enjoyed the giant bowl of Mushroom Miso Ramen. This experience for a quick lunch was exceptional. The accommodations were stylish and comfortable sans the cold air duct making me a bit cold over the table we sat at. The staff was kind and gave us time to look at the varying menu. An overall wonderful meal.“
