“Zukin's Rib Shack holds a special place in my heart. While I do genuinely think the food is some of the best around, . Growing up, my family got Zukin's all the time. My dad and I are pizza afficionados and would get pies from this place all the time. I remember having for my birthday, When my dad got sick, all he ever wanted to eat was a pepperoni and mushroom pizza from this place. Even as he lost his appetite and his hair fell out, even when he didn't feel like eating anything else, he'd eat his pizza and those brownies.

Unrelated, my grandma was a fan of the ribs and I agree with her opinion.

Next month, I'm taking a train across the country to start a new life in the New Mexican desert. Before I leave downriver, I have to grab me a pizza and maybe some ribs. And tbh with you, if you're thinking about grabbing food from here, you should. It's delicious, the prices are fair, and it's down to earth.“

“Stopped in today with several coworkers and took advantage of the $10 lunch special. Brisket sandwich and fries. Fries were pretty good but the brisket sandwich is what will bring me back. Very moist, well prepared and flavorful. The price is right as well. Wish I could have had a cocktail but there’s always next time. See ya soon.“

Julie was with us every step of the way! Smokin' Steve's BBQ & Fried Pies catered our wedding and not only were we thoroughly impressed with their food, but our 200+ guests were as well! The layout of their appetizers were adorable and their dinner food lines flowed so well, allowing all of our guests to be fed in <30 minutes! They also made sure to offer accommodations to any and all guests of ours who had dietary restrictions due to food allergies. Not only are they perfect for catering weddings, but they are perfect for other events as well! We would choose their services again in a heartbeat!! 10/10 recommend! “My first time trying this restaurant. It was pretty good. I had the beef ribs and chicken dinner. The ribs and Potato salad, were delicious. The sauce is fire. The chicken was a little light skin, but it was done all the way through. The greens and mac and cheese needed a little more seasoning, but over all it was good. I'll be returning.“

“A group of about 10 of us stopped in on a Monday for happy hour - there was a nice crowd, music was playing, sparsely decorated. They have a great patio right on Woodward which is why we came, but it ended up raining. Although only one bartender was working, cocktails came out fast and tasted fresh and good. They have an interesting n/a mocktail made with homemade cordial and soda - I didn't try it this time, but it's good to know they have an option other than soda and lime. The aperol spritz looked good as did the spicy margarita. A good place to catch a quick drink.

They have an interesting food menu - sushi during the day and late night, and bbq for dinner. Maybe a little odd, but I remember when this place was Oslo and had the best sushi, so maybe it makes sense? I'll have to come back to try the food. Everyone working has also been really friendly, so I'd come back. An excellent location if you work downtown.“

“A tmi review but genuinely the service was amazing. Worst day i had, ordered a small cheese with pepperoni pizza with cajun crust (very good, gently crisp crusts and just enough cajun so 10/10) and a 2L of soda through Uber Eats, Didnt get the soda i wanted , they were out & i guess the uber guy disregarded my note on what to replace it with. I called, even though slightly tense (sorry) the guy was super kind over phone, apparently this Happys Pizza is closer than i thought so i walked to get it replaced and still was super kind, even offered a pie slice. On the verge of tears on xmas eve with the worst day but the service was so kind, and the pizza was good and good service needs to be acknowledged and appreciated so 10/10.“

“Theirs not to many places around the city that offer a good, hardy and delicious New Orlean style seafood gumbo but, I happened to be driving around on the westside and was hungry and decided to give a new place I'd heard about from a friend. The spot is called "Dem Noles Bois"...It's been awhile since I had a good gumbo. I've got to tell you, to my surprise, this was the best gumbo that I’ve had in years definitely five stars. I definitely will be back again...I want to try the BBQ Ribs, the fried chicken wings, and for sure, the fried shrimp dinner. P.s., the Banana Pudding was on point“
