“This place is amazing. Great food made fresh, and the employees are nice and polite. Only downside I think you'll run into is that its always busy, probably because its so good. Definitely recommended to bring the family. Get the beef pot roast platter on sour dough bread with instead of a roll.“

“The Shelbyville Tavern has some of the best food around. It's just a small bar and grill in Shelbyville with very good service and very nice people. They have the best potato skins around and you can get them with ground beef on them which is something I've never seen before and it's delicious. They have a huge variety of deep fried appetizers that are all delicious. The drinks are great too. Very strong and worth every penny!!!“

“So we came in after our daughter’s softball game for some food and hopes of watching the White Sox game. Kylie was our server and she was amazing, very friendly and outgoing. She tried to get the game on for us but didn’t know how to do it. She came back and said her manager came in and she is taking care of it. So as we are sitting there, what I assume is the manager, comes over and in a very condescending way says the game is over and they won. My boyfriend is a big fan. I said “oh did he grow up in Chicago?” Again she said rudely comments “color matters.” We asked for the white Sox game and never got it. Food was good, service from Kylie was great, interaction with the manager should have not been that way.“

“The servers & kitchen staff at this location are true gems! My son has food allergies, which require lots of questions, cross-checking ingredients & special requests. We’re not the easiest customers to work with, as our orders generally aren’t quick. They were completely accommodating & showed us so much patience. They even went as far as printing off a list of ingredients for my son to see if he could try something new, which he could! 8 years old & never had a fried pickle until today, he was SO happy! They absolutely did not have to take the time to do that but as a mother, I am so so thankful for it. You made both of our days & we absolutely will be back!“

“I've always been a steak and shake fan but over the years it's gotten honestly gross and stated like frozen food but OMG eating is today after months of debating against my bf but wow did they blow my mind I think they changed their food because food doesn't taste like this anymore! It was so flavorful and doesn't taste toxic or fake or anything! Definitely became an even bigger fan of steak and shake keep going 💪🏽 you have a new loyal customer“

“Although I do agree of the overall rating of the buffet being 3.7 stars, I do think some of the reviews were a bit extreme. Come to this buffet with the expectation for buffet food and I think you’ll enjoy the experience more. My boyfriend and I came after experiencing a Vegas buffet and wanted something like this in area. This was the closest to where we live. Considering the market price of prime rib and crab legs, we felt the price was fair.
The service was excellent.
Food wise, the crab legs needed little forks , it was difficult to dig the meat out but the overall taste was good - it was just messy and work.
My bf said the prime rib - although medium rare -was a bit dry.
The pizza despite being from a pizza oven was not good but I didn’t expect much, the cheese bread however was perfectly cheesy and gooey.
We skipped the salad bar but I did breeze past it and it looked fresh.
The Asian section and Italian sections disappointed the most. The Alfredo wasn’t good and was the only vegetarian option and the Asian could have benefited from sushi rolls.
We overall enjoyed the American/Chefs/Mexican sections.
The guacamole and beans were flavorful. My boyfriend enjoyed the chimichangas and we both loved the mashed potatoes (wish I had gotten a plate of them) there was also a baked potato with a build your toppings section that looked good. The Mac and cheese disappointed me though. Too dry.
Desserts - I truly saved the best for last. We filled a plate up of one of everything so we could sample it all. The strawberry mousse was so light and fluffy, the espresso cupcake (which was my fav) was rich and flavorful, and my boyfriend devoured the strawberry cheesecake. Every bite we had of the desserts was enjoyable though.

I’m not sure if we would come back, maybe on a non crab leg day, but I did truly overall enjoy the experience.“
