“The best Indian food In Michigan ,loved it and recommended to others“

“Two nights ago , my wife and I dined at Al Shallal, a Lebanese family owned and operated restaurant. We were warmly greeted by hostess/server Nourhan and offered menus. My wife ordered an absolutely delicious falafel plate that was accompanied by a marvelous tahini sauce and rice. I chose the perfectly spiced and prepared mixed grill (beef kabob, chicken tawook and beef kafta served with a pungent garlic sauce and rice. Our order included, as a prelude, a choice of salad or soup. We opted for the homemade (all items we ordered were made from scratch) chicken lemon soup: shredded chicken, and rice in a deeply flavorful lemony chicken broth (yum). Our servings were generously portioned and absolutely scrumptious. Following the meal, we ordered homemade, once again, baklava and a small pot of a cardamom infused Lebanese coffee. Food heaven. Nourhan was an absolutely wonderful server (daughter of the owners who were the chefs). We have dined at many Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian restaurants. Al Shallal, in Dearborn Heights , Michigan ranks at the very top for quality, price, taste, presentation, authenticity and service. Thank you Nourhan and family.“

“I went to the Middle Eats on Eureka Rd in Southgate after the gym. My doctor put me a pretty restrictive diet due to my diabetes. I admit I was kind of apprehensive walking in because it’s been a real chore to stick to it when I have to eat out. I walked in and a young lady named Kayla R was at the counter. I apologized to her saying I need to ask questions about my order and I’m on dietary restrictions. She was incredibly nice and understanding. She asked me what I could and couldn’t eat and even made suggestions on how to make my meal that would comply to the restrictions. She even said she could make a phone call to find the exact ingredients of the sauce if I wanted her to. I was so impressed. In the end I got a bowl that complied to the dietary restrictions and it was very good. The other employees were also making suggestions and when I apologized for being a pain they all said they were happy to help. This wasn’t my first time there and it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t express my gratitude on how they all went totally out of their way to accommodate me. Thank you Kayla and staff!“

“Al Chabab is THE BOMB 💣!! We were looking for some good Mediterranean food, and this might be my favorite 🤍 We tried Muhammara for the first time, and I fell in love ✨ Muhammara is hummus-like dip made from red peppers and spices. It’s a tad spicy, it’s kind of sweet, and it’s SOOO TASTEY!! We also tried the Lamb Mansaf. Everything was amazing, the service was amazing. I felt at home at Al Chabab ☺️
UPDATE: we came back the next day for more!! This time we tried the Al-Chabab Cherry Kabob and it did not disappoint!! This is seriously some of the tastiest food I have ever tasted 💛💛💛“

“First time went for Iftar with the family and amazingly everything was on point mashallah. We heard mix reviews from our friends and family but honestly we didn't taste anything better than this place in michigan. For the buffet they had various options to choose from and the price was really affordable. We tried the best zilabi on town. My picky eater son finished everything which means it's really good. “The atmosphere is really nice! I came in with a group of 15 and the server we had was super friendly and accommodating. The food came out quickly as well. I had the broccoli soup and fries for an appetizer and both were amazing!! They have a delicious sauce that comes with the fries as well. For dinner our group purchased a platter and even for 15 of us it was ALOT of food and we had so many leftovers. At the end, the servers were so kind and patient and took photos of our group.“

The food was really good and was made fresh, I was greeted at the door with smiles, the place was very clean and best of all the price of all of this was only 25 dollars. I was very amazed it was this good of a price because we don’t see that anymore nowadays. “Came in for the first time with a major pregnancy craving for some Lamb Shawarma. The gentleman behind the counter was incredibly kind and helpful, double checking how much spice I wanted, and letting me know it would take about 15 minutes as it’s made fresh. Took the food home and everything was absolutely delicious! The lamb was tender and well marinaded, the seasoning was flavorful, and the vegetables and garlic sauce complemented everything wonderfully. Between the great service and quality, I will definitely be back again for this hidden gem!“

“Balqees was a beautiful experience, fasting all day for Ramadan this place hit the spot. Greeted by the most lovely staff, I was seated in very comfortable chairs, surrounded by the most awe-inspiring Yemeni art pieces. Beautiful Yemeni outfits and jambiyas adorn the walls with decadence and flair that bring one’s presence to the motherland of the Middle East. Mashallah I felt like I had a small glimpse into heaven, joyful energy with families all around just enjoying the evening to the fullest. I had the Lamb Haneeth which really filled my taste buds with tantalizing flavors one can only describe as truly satisfying, invigorating, captivating, breathtaking, and utterly wonderful. To think there was an entire menu yet undiscovered I come to realize this was only the beginning of my adventures towards absolute joyfulness, happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment through exploring the decadence of Middle Eastern cuisine. “Fantastic manaeesh. We ordered half zaatar/half cheese, sojouk and cheese, spinach and cheese, meat, and keshk, all extra toasted, and they did not disappoint. The manaeesh were a great size (we ordered all regular), topped very generously, and ready quickly.

We also got two cups of tea with the order, and the total came out to $30, which is surprisingly affordable for the quality, size, and topping generosity (especially compared to what Houston offers).

The sojouk tasted exactly like the ones in Lebanon. The spinach was fresh, which made a huge difference. The zaatar tasted authentic, and the cheese was actually good (not plasticky). The meat mixture was very moist with no gamey smell, and the keshk wasn’t dry at all. Overall, everything tasted fresh, well made, and truly authentic. As a very picky eater (especially when it comes to Lebanese food as I’ve has the real deal plenty of times) highly recommend.“

“In Detroit for 2 nights and was looking for a spot to eat around my hotel - luckily I found Bucharest through Google Maps. The food was really good - I got the salad with chicken shawarma - the portion was insane! I didn’t take a picture but there was so much chicken (and I got the “small” size) It was really tasty and juicy and with the side of garlic sauce it really hit my cravings. The bartender (I sat at the bar) was super nice, friendly and awesome yet respectful and in general everyone out here seemed really welcoming. Prices were very fair and affordable (got 2 drinks as well)
Overall a very good and tasty experience and I’ll definitely come back here on my next visit to Detroit. Keep up the good work!“
