“Two nights ago , my wife and I dined at Al Shallal, a Lebanese family owned and operated restaurant. We were warmly greeted by hostess/server Nourhan and offered menus. My wife ordered an absolutely delicious falafel plate that was accompanied by a marvelous tahini sauce and rice. I chose the perfectly spiced and prepared mixed grill (beef kabob, chicken tawook and beef kafta served with a pungent garlic sauce and rice. Our order included, as a prelude, a choice of salad or soup. We opted for the homemade (all items we ordered were made from scratch) chicken lemon soup: shredded chicken, and rice in a deeply flavorful lemony chicken broth (yum). Our servings were generously portioned and absolutely scrumptious. Following the meal, we ordered homemade, once again, baklava and a small pot of a cardamom infused Lebanese coffee. Food heaven. Nourhan was an absolutely wonderful server (daughter of the owners who were the chefs). We have dined at many Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian restaurants. Al Shallal, in Dearborn Heights , Michigan ranks at the very top for quality, price, taste, presentation, authenticity and service. Thank you Nourhan and family.“

“My daughter & I ordered a Kaffta wrap & Gyro. Both where phenomenal!!! I have ate there previously, the food is excellent, fresh, made right in front of you. The charcoal is what makes it for me... The restaurant is the cleanest it could possibly be, bathrooms included. I can't say enough about the service, I believe I dealt with the Husband/Wife owners, they are awesome people. They will give you a great experience with a smile. I can't say enough about this place, if you don't try it your missing out, support the mom & pop industry, they give you more than any chain business can provide. I'll keep coming back. “This place is amazing! And not just the food… The family owned atmosphere and the people running it our amazing. While I was waiting for my takeout order, I started talking to the two owners, their two adult sons, whowho were all having dinner… I commented how good their homemade chicken wings smelled and looked. Before I knew it, I was being forced to eat their chicken wings, dates, and the specialty drink that they were having for their dinner. I can’t wait to go back! The food is so good and the people were better.“

“Great beautiful place with great ambiance. Three people in my party ordered the Branzino - from what we could eat it was delicious - however, it should have been fileted. I have never seen or had so many bones in my mouth from any fish. Wondering if it was really Branzino. The three of us could barely eat the fish, it was almost impossible. You would think that such a good chef would do that to make sure we didn''t get any bones stuck in our throats. Otherwise, all the other food was great -just don't order the Branzino unless they filet it.“

“We've eaten here a few times recently and every time has been delicious! We have loved everything we've tried so far. The complimentary spicy garlic sauce with the bread is so good. The salad is so fresh and we love the dressing and pita chips in it. The hummus is great. The chicken schwarma sandwich is yummy and a great lunch deal. But we usually split the platter for 2 when we are both eating here because it lets you try multiple things and gives you way more food. we always have leftovers so we get to eat more of this amazing food later on. All the meat has been juicy and tender. We love the rice with the almonds in it. Everything is just delicious! Can't wait to come back. I want to try other things because they have so many things that sound good but we also love what we get already so it's so hard to switch it up! lol Might have to try something new next time though just to see what else we like. “I orderes through DoorDash and figured I'd give them a shot. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich, small tabouleh, and medium fries as they didnt have an option for small through DoorDash. I dont know if something got lost in translation or if its genuinely like this everytime, but the tabouleh and fries I got would be large or extra large at most other places. The tabouleh was the best ive had from outside the home. The fries are fantastic, and the chicken shawarma came LOADED.“

The Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was to die for and the garlic butter was the bomb!! My wife got the Shish Tawook and Fattoush salad. We estimate that we have ordered from Alex Kabob around 50 times. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes to pick up because of the demand.“

“I think this was my second time dining here, but Shish Kabob Express hasn’t disappointed me yet. It has a fairly basic but comfortable interior, and the staff is professional. Service seemed quick, and the food was quite good. I got the vegetarian combo, and it came with a lot of different items. The quality seemed decent, and the quantity was high. I ended up getting a second meal out of it. It’s a great option for meals.“
