“The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. It's wonderful to get a true representation of other cultures. I would eat here two to four times a month. The staff are nice, the menu has so many options. They have savory, slightly sweet options. I did mot have spicy this time but... I want to. They have a bar but I did not have anything but I would love to see what cocktails they have. They have a flavorful tea, I needed sugar but boyfriend had as is. The vegetables were amazing and the chicken feet were a new experience but I now know, enjoyed and plan on eating again. They have small plate offerings so great for families, meeting, get together, dates and more. It is pretty accessible. The parking lot is a little tricky but I have seen much worse and if you have a walking disability would say the sides of the entrance don't have as much of an angle. The bathrooms have enough room for a wheelchair. I would rate the bathroom 8/10. Chinese Broccoli was juicy, tender and flavorful, Dim sum was great, the dumpling/buns are both must haves and next time we go back I will want more of each.“

“When I was younger I used to eat at a local Chinese Restaurant, hanging out with friends after school and eating there with my family. The food is exactly the same as I remember, delicious as ever. The restaurant in my town where I grew up has closed down a long time ago so coming here brings back childhood memories. Not only is the food at a great price but every bite holds memories.“

“I've ordered carry-out from May Hong before and it's always been amazing. It's ready when I've walked through the door and piping hot, plus tasty. A personal favorite is the Sesame Chicken. Egg rolls are also delicious!

However, a friend and I decided to dine in two weekends ago. There may have been a rush before us that had just left, but there was only a single clean table available, and one staff person handling all the orders and cleaning.

We ordered, and I waited half an hour--no exaggeration--for a bubble tea. I decided to try something new that night, the honey chicken. No real taste of honey to be found. Stick with the Sesame or Sweet & Sour Chicken since you can't go wrong with those.

Also, the booths? A group of people left behind me and new people came in. Every time someone moves behind you, you can feel it and it's quite jarring when you're trying to eat.

The staff person we dealt with tried her hardest, and she was very, very nice, just severely overworked.

May Hong is still worth ordering from for the food, but keep it to carry-out. Dining in isn't the best experience.“

“I have been a customer and have enjoyed delicious meals since it opened in 1985. We had moved away 20 years ago and whenever we came back to visit we would try to go to Shin Shin whenever possible. Staff have always been very friendly and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed in a meal. Last night my husband and I had a dinner date there. We were not disappointed. Just a suggestion though: I would recommend having more combo meal options as the ones on the menu are not very good. I don’t like chicken fried rice, I prefer noodles. I also don’t like to get the soft drinks or the spring/egg rolls either. I once asked if I could replace the rice with noodles because i didn’t want soft drink or the egg roll but i was told that it would still be an upcharge. Even though, it would actually level out the pricing. I just don’t want to order every single item alone. I wish that we could choose what we wanted instead. I go to Multifood and grab a huge container of food for 15$ that I could eat twice, and get whatever I want. Just don’t want to have to spend 40$ every time I eat here because I have to order everything I like separately. If there is a change I’ll definitely be back as I said the food itself tastes great, and I always am always pleased.“

“I tried Summer Palace again after a long time away and like it a lot. I think the spring rolls are great. They are very accommodating in giving us hot mustard on the side. If you haven’t been back lately, give them another chance! We like the sweet and sour shrimp and wonton soup, too.“

The vegetables used in the dish were fresh, i wished they were cooked a little longer but they had a nice crunch. The fried rice was freshly cooked and had the right amount of soy sauce taste to it (definitely wasn't the bulk food store fried rice different places use) and you could see egg that was used in the cooking too. As I ordered carryout I can't comment on how the staff was, but my food was done by the time they said it would be.“

“This place is my newest favorite Chinese food spot in the Detroit area. It's not traditional Chinese food, it's the Chinese food I grew up with in my home town. The fried rice and lo mein have fresh ingredients and it isn't greesy just to be greesy. I'm particular about the noodles used in lo mein, this place has the right thickness of noodle. Their egg rolls are delicious, crunchy on the outside soft but cooked on the inside. Some places fill an egg roll too much, here they are just perfect. ABC chicken was all white meat, had fresh broccoli and two breaded breasts sliced with a side of gravy and fried rice. I'm excited I found a Chinese food place that has exactly what I want. Just keep in mind, your picking up food in a restaurant maybe 2 people are working in, so don't be impatient or disappointed they don't have tables to serve you at. Just be greatful 15 minutes was only 15 minutes.“

“Can't say I do not enjoy their food...I do. I order from here on a regular basis and at least 2-3X a year order enough to feed 15 of us. BUT... the Menu on their website, online ordering, shows almond boneless chicken with lettuce... it does not come with lettuce unless you pay an additional 2.50. Scallions are normally part of the dish... not here. Paid 1.50 for scallions and got maybe 10-12 little pieces. So Almond Boneless Chicken on menu for 13.99 plus 4 dollars to be prepared with what is usually standard in ABC. Also ordered a large Wonton Soup... which normally comes with soup noodles... was told I had to ask for them and would've been given a sample bag or could pay another 1.50 for the bag I have always gotten WITH the soup... Times are tough, I get it. But at least prepare the dish the way you present it on your own website (raise the price accordingly if necessary) and make up your mind on the soup noodles. Sad to say I'll be looking at other options in the future.“

“Stop by there Wednesday January 7th. 2026 at 9:15 p.m. I went to this location because the other location on Gratiot and Roseville in MI couldn't make me any super greens at 5 minutes to 9:00 p.m., closing time for this location is 10:00 p.m. I drove to the Sterling heights Van Dyke location near 16 Mile and arrived there at 9:15 p.m. and they set me up with a warm plate of super greens along with the rest of my order. It took them less than 2 1/2 minutes to produce fresh super greens. The question in my mind is if super greens is a side item along with chow, mein or rice and the Roseville location was running low on both of those. How were they going to service the rest of the customers for the next hour without any side items available for their entree item?“
