“It use to be be a favorite restaurant. After the renovations it has changed. I am stating from a top notch restaurant now everything has changed. Quality, wait staff, noise level. Everything was wrong when we went there. I know they have to factor cost and profit and this is what was best. Not for us, won’t be back“

“This is one of my favorite places to eat when I go downtown. The food is excellent and I love the atmosphere. The outdoor dining option is small, but very nice. It's on Library Street so there is not a ton of traffic. Parking in the Z Garage right around the corner is convenient and you can scan a QR code in the restaurant lobby to get your parking validated.“

“Went to Ciao last night for a birthday/Valentines Day dinner. They had a set menu for the night. Every single thing we ate was beyond delicious!! The plates were so pretty to look at and even better to taste. So much love went into each plate! The Gorgonzola gnocchi melted in your mouth. The meat (on the short ribs) fell right off the bone…don’t even get me started on the cheesecake and chocolate creme brûlée!!! 😍 Mia, our server went above and made the night so much better. “Charming. An old school Italian restaurant in a charming part of Grosse Pointe Park. A family friendly restaurant without being adult unfriendly ?. I went with a classic lasagna and it tasted like I was a “made man” in the Corleone family or something. Heaven! Atmosphere was classy without being stuffy. Midweek dinner and not much of a crowd so we were seated right away. I think my favorite part was tomato sauce that was used in the lasagna.“

“I’m going to call this a hidden gem because “The Hill” is kind of a sleepy business district if I’m being honest. Cafe Nini is also on the opposite side of the street from the majority of the restaurants The Hill has to offer.

Make no mistake, this cozy little Italian restaurant is one of the better restaurants on The Hill. The wife and I went for our regular date night and were definitely not let down.

I had the fruitti di mare and the wife had fettuccini alla carbonara. Both were excellent. Can’t wait to go back and try something different.

“We went there for our 21st anniversary dinner since we got married there 21 years ago. Great server and great food. The fried calamari was light and came with the best marinara. We tried the suppli for the first time and it was great. The tableside Caesar salad was the best I've ever had. We ordered the chicken parm and gnocchi for our entrees and loved them. The chicken parm portion was huge. We will definitely go back.“
