“I saw a food truck that I had never seen before so I decided to stop. Today's menu for this Halal Soul Street Food Truck was tacos. I was greeted by a young man ready to take my order. He politely answered a couple of questions about menu items I decided to go with the Baria taco. LET ME TELL YOU! This Taco was so yummy. The shell was nice and crisp. The cheese was plentiful and ooey gooey. I would have loved to take a picture of the cheese pull for you but, the food was in my face! The brisket was well seasoned and tender and the cilantro was fresh. Of course, there was a dipping sauce and lime slice, but I honestly didn't need them. I was halfway through the taco before I even decided to give them a try. Use them or not do what you want is still going to be good. I can't wait to go back to try some of their other menu items“

“Hamtown is the best place to go if your looking for amazing soul food cooked fresh daily with expertise and a passion for cooking incredible food. Everything I've had from here has been delicious, even the mashed potatoes and gravy which may seem basic and underwhelming is so flavorful, smooth and rich, believe me the mash is not to be overlooked. Anything you order from hamtown will undoubtedly hit the soul food craving you have.“

“Friendly.Clean.Delicous. We dined in. This is not FAST FOOD. Worth the wait. Ordered Satay Chicken and Beef Pad Thai. Medium level was perfect for me. Hot Level had my nephew ?. Food portion is a nice size and price for dinner was $40. Enjoyed the music. We recommend and we will return soon. Free parking.“

“Parking is in front of the building. Soul food is very good. The greens, cabbage and yams are all very good. Mac and cheese, is good as well. I’ve tried a few things and the service was good. My only issue was the fried chicken breast dinner was decent not my favorite item. But catfish is good and pork chops were good too and my go to items. “Small take out restaurant that I was recommended by several customers who come to my beauty supply store. Finally decided to try this place out for our company lunch. The foods were amazingly good. Pick up was quick and easy. We especially liked jerk chicken and curry chicken. We will definitely do another lunch here soon.“

“AMAZING seafood boil!! I live right around the corner and have been wanting to try for a long time and am so happy I finally did! My husband is from the south so we crave that creole style food once in a while and Ms. Felicia did not disappoint. The food was seasoned perfectly. Every other restaurant that offers this style seafood boil can step aside because there is no competition!“

“The food was excellent. The wait was a little long but worth it. I had the Slimgoody omelet. They give you ample enough in the omelet. Friendly waitstaff. Reasonable priced which I was happy to see. Check it out you will not be disappointed“

“I have had food from this restaurant twice and have been overly pleased. The RIBS and Pork Chops were delicious ? including the sauce tangy yet sweet savor. The collard greens are fresh and you can tell they are largely sliced. The corn dressing and Mac n cheese is like what your big mama cooked on a Sunday afternoon after church. The establishment is small and the employees are kind I just wish some of the sides were available more. O by the way they stay busy that let you know they are doing something right. If you are looking for some great home cooked soul food this is the place ?“

“Stumbled across this place because the sign doesn't hint towards it being a restaurant. I ordered the fried pork chops with greens and dressing and it was pretty good, I do wish the greens were seasoned but other than that I will be returning.“

“Our nephew suggested this place. We’re glad he did. We started with drinks from the bar and the catfish bites for our shareable. For our entrees, we had the chicken plate, shrimp & grits, Ox tails and chicken wings with collard greens and sweet potatoes for sides. Everything came out promptly and hot. We also want to give a BIG handclap for J’Len Bailey for doing a wonderful job as our server. I want to thank him for giving us a little history lesson on the “people mover” that was a great attraction as we ate our meal. Thank you for a wonderful experience.“

“Ribs Although I recommend this restaurant, most of the time its a hit and miss with getting good food. Also, Om Saturday, July 16, 2022 at approximately 6:48pm I ordered a rib snack dinner with greens and potato salad and an extra side of greens. The 4 bones were delicious, but the greens and potato salad were horrible. The greens tasted like poison- no seasoning or meat in the greens. The potato salad was soupy.“

“Held my grandmother’s repass. This place was recommended by the funeral home. Food was 5/5. They made it super easy on us by setting up and cleaning up the venue for us. Plenty of space for a repass of about 75 people. No complaints. The owner was very nice, accommodating and professional. The peach cobbler is outstanding. The meatball are great. All of the food was good.“

“I got this off door dash and it was great I usually don’t leave reviews but they did their big one ! I got wing dinner w/Mac & yams it was so good . Wings was small but I do prefer those big steroid chicken . My mom got pork chop dinner great also . We got 4 dinners and total and they did not miss . The tenders was basic but my kids didn’t mind at all . Definitely be ordering more I pass her all time never thought to stop .“

I'd prefer 2-3 visits before providing an opinion, but it's definitely worth a try. According to staff, hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday thru Sunday.“

“listen the first time I came here I didn’t even get nothing I was just with my cousin doing a doordash order with her , was just picking up somebody order but something told me that I need to come back and eat from here. So yesterday and today I finally order some food from here and man when I tell you it is so good! I’ve never tasted Mac n cheese that actually tasted good from a restaurant , no matter where I went Mac n cheese would only always taste better at home. But this place? Oh yeah they got it down PACK the best Mac n cheese I done had from a restaurant and them lamb chops is so so good.“

“The feel of the building is low key and chill. They are located up stairs. There is a doorman that greets you when you walk in. Once you enter made it to the second level you are greeted by the server who can assist with your reservations. There is an older crowd although there was a mix when I attended. Good music. Great food. I was here for a date night and the scene was nice and romantic. The music is urban. And the staff was amazing.“
