“The worse service I ever experienced. Was there and ordered 2 burgers. Received 1. Waited another half hour to receive the one for my mother that has dementia. She asked "what is going on" . There was a couple sitting behind my mother in a booth also. The man told the waitress that it was the worse steak he ever ate. "Was like chewing gum" . It doesn't stop there. Took over half hour for my mother to get her margarita. I asked when Will that be served. My mother is not a drinker. Then....omg...I requested water and a box to go for the burger we didn't get to start with...well that took along time also...the people sitting behind me in a booth was waiting on the return of their credit card.....the staff had no clue where that was...then another waitress brought them more food which was to go to another table.....then the waitress brought me a bill ticket that was 12 dallors and change for some one else.....that took more time finally to pay our bill. Our waitress said she had been off 3 days...hard getting back in the swing of things...dammmmnmn. will never go back there again.“

“This was an interesting place, so the food and custard tastes great, and the cheese curds are absolutely godly.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Service was genuinely really nice! The employees were really friendly and helpful. AND the employees wear their own goofy costumes on Halloween, my favorite being the cashier rocking the cute shark onesie! 🦈
The employees are quick to prepare and deliver my food and I never experienced mistakes on any of my orders!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As far as atmosphere, could be better. Country music is always playing in the background which is not for everyone, but the place is incredibly clean, like you never get that icky feeling like you would with a McDonald's place.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall this place is really nice! go here every week (mostly the drive through) and it's been consistently tasty and reliable.

“My wife and I went on a little road trip to Hastings just to see what was there. We got lunch at the Walldorff. Such a great place! The food was quite good. She got the Monte Cristo with cole slaw and loved it. I got the Cuban which I enjoyed. We also got the Pretzel Nubs to start with and they were almost perfect. The only thing I would change about them is the cheese they came with wasn't very spreadable. It had great flavor though! As did the course ground honey mustard. For dessert, we shared the skillet apple crisp, which was amazing! We will absolutely go back again!“

“I have loved this place since I was a teenager in the 80's. We used to go here at lunch while working for my dad and sit with other contractors and locals to eat and talk. Fast forward almost 40 years and it hasn't changed. And that is a great thing!
The place looks exactly as it did back then and still serves great burgers, fries and shakes. The food comes to the table fast and hot. The shakes come in the metal container they were mixed in along with a smaller cup to pour into. The fries are cut on site and are crispy and hot and delicious. The cheeseburger is an actual burger and doesn't look like it was sitting under a heat light.
The staff has always been know to be friendly and efficient.
I'm glad time hasn't changed this little place. It can be a little noisy and crowded, but the food is worth it!!“

“Food was decent. A some good menu items for sure. Some were just okay. Atmosphere is amazing! But the service was not good. We went for lunch on a weekday at 1-2:30pm. There was maybe 1-2 other tables there at the time & 1-3 workers. Although I think 1 staff was bartender & 1 was kitchen staff that we saw. Nice guy was our 1 server but he wasnt busy at all but hardly ever checked in on us. Took forever to get waters. Then menus. Then to take our orders & get the check. We were 3 people who ordered a very simple burger, sandwich & tacos. We were there almost 2 hours in total, most of the time waiting for something. Hoping it was a 1 off experience bc its a Very lovely & convenient location to meet.“

“One of my favorite American food restaurant. The selection is great something for any of us. Homemade bread and pastries top notch. Favorite ruebarb pie hands down. My favorite are the breakfast selections. The staff have always been helpful. No complaints. We drive 40 minutes to get there although there are restaurants within five minutes from our house. I say yes go. I saw a comment about the clientele being unfriendly. That's a development that has increased since 2016 and not limited to the Grove Cafe. Love this restaurant.“

“Great little hidden gem in the whopping metropolis of Freeport, Michigan. The owner and his mom were very welcoming the first and only time there. I'm not from here and they made feel at home. The food is great and priced reasonably. Great way to meet new friends.“
