“I like many of you, like using the review score when making purchase decisions. I never just look at the score. I look for the number of reviews and I try to find helpful reviews to give me more incite into what I may be getting into. My wife works in a business where the reviews really matter for bringing in new customers. She often talks about the long-time customers who keep returning but have never left a review. Those are really the voices that should matter more to people who want an honest review of the company they are looking into. Unfortunately, even though I like looking at reviews, I seldom leave one unless I'm very satisfied with the company or really disappointed. In both cases, I leave my emotions aside and tell things as I experience them. This means that if everything wasn't perfect, I don't ding them for minor stuff. I give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have those days when we aren't at our best. When I read bad reviews about restaurants that I frequent often, I wonder about the person leaving the review. I feel that they are either competitors with malicious intent, someone who didn't try to listen to resolve whatever issues they perceived to be happening, or simply someone who's looking for a reason and is too hard to please in the first place. So with all that out of the way, let me get to the Lim's Star review. I love Chinese food and it's one of the first things I looked for locally when I bought my house 10 years ago. There are several in what I would consider my drivable area. Lim's Star is in my top 5 or higher depending on what dish I'm looking for. 10 years means I've been coming there since before the current owner. Do I miss the dinner rolls? Not really, since I get better quality food and personalization of meals on request. The new owner knows us on sight and remembers what we like to order. He even allows us to modify the ingredients to our liking. He is very friendly and will engage in small talk to get to know his customers better. We eat at or buy takeout from Lim's Star at least once a month, sometimes more. Has everything always been perfect? No, but I really can't recall the last time I was dissatisfied with my order or service. Based on my long review, I'm hoping you can tell I have had many enjoyable meals from and experiences with Lim's Star. Seriously! If you are on the fence or willing to try something new in your area, start with a dish you know to compare. I doubt you will be disappointed in your comparison. Mark J.“

“First time trying Ah-Ha and was very pleasantly surprised. The crab & shrimp boil was delicious but the cajun seasoning could have been spicier. I was thrilled to find marinated pork belly as the pork in my noodles (pork and vegetable option). This was a "need a towel, not a napkin" kind of meal - messy and great! We will definitely be back.“

“Beef broccoli is the best around. Not a huge fan of the sweet and sour sauce but I'll definitely be back to try the orange chicken.
Edit: the orange chicken is delicious. I asked for the sauce on the side and an extra sweet and sour sauce cup and they only charged $1 for the extra sauce (picky 2 year old) portions were huge as well.“

“I have to say, the last time I was at Hong Hua was pre-Covid, and it was amazing back then—so when I saw a TikTok saying they were open for lunch again, I knew I had to go back. My buddy sent me the video and I was like, “When are we going?” So we finally went, and let me tell you… this place is STILL absolutely incredible.

I ordered the almond boneless chicken, and it was phenomenal—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and everything I hoped it would be. The egg drop soup? Oh my God, easily some of the best I’ve had. And the egg roll was delicious, crispy, and packed with flavor.

Hands-down, the food is fantastic and the service is truly top-notch. Hong Hua continues to be one of the best spots around, and I’m so glad they’re serving lunch again. I’ll definitely be back!“

The broccoli and beef is to live for, the egg foo young is perfect and you can't go wrong with the sweet and sour chicken! The wonton soup is the best in the downriver area, even though this place is not part of that exchange. Our waitress is so sweet and has kept up with everyone. This building/atmosphere is clean and friendly and just beautiful. Tjere is plenty of room for an intimate meal just for two or a large gathering. We will be most happy to make the 30 minute drove back again!“

“My friends and I love going to Jiang Nan Noodle House. My friend from NY was visiting and recommended we try this place. One of the best Chinese noodle place in my opinion. I like their Veggie Flat Noodle dish. The broth noodle soup can be a little less flavorful. My other favorite dish is the mung bean noodles appetizer. I do see a lot of Asians eating at this restaurant, so it does mean its good! (They also play Kpop songs, and I heard my favorite Girls' Generation song Mr. Taxi last time I was there) Service is okay!“

“I just picked up a carryout. Oh my!! My husband gave his pork chop suey a 10/10. He actually said it was the best pork chop suey he’s ever had from a restaurant. I have to say my shrimp with sizzling rice was an 11/10. Superb. We are both pretty discerning about food. And to have us both pleased, it was great! I can say I’m not that much of a fan of Chinese food, preferring Vietnamese, but this was such a pleasant surprise. I will become a “regular”.“

“China House Inn has become our go to Chinese takeout spot. We love TenYen but it's a little bit further of a drive and the good is close to equal. Delicious egg rolls, good shrimp fried rice, and most dishes have been tasty. The almond chicken gravy is bland and the Mongolian beef wasn't the best but we love the sweet and sour chicken, general chicken, and Szechuan chicken. Very nice workers too.“

“I had an amazing experience at this Chinese restaurant! The egg rolls alone are worth the visit from downriver! They were crispy, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome the moment you walk in.

The restaurant was spotless too, which made the whole experience even better. It’s clear they take pride not just in their food, but in their service and atmosphere as well.

“Food tasted great. A little too spicy for a Chinese place. I asked for medium. No on in front of me in line it still took them 12-15 minutes to make my food. Atmosphere is dull. They need to paint in there. Bring color and or decorations“

“Tried this place after my go to Chinese restaurant closed down and this place absolutely blew my old restaurant out of the water! The chicken was so flavorful and crunchy, not that rubbery chicken you get from other places. The egg drop soup was absolutely perfect as well with crispy chips to go with it. The quart of Spot packed full was good except broth zero flavor like water. Chicken Egg Foo Young nothing like ever had weird crunchy patties with very small amount of gravy. The very good Rice and a mega amount. Egg Roll spot on Wonderful. The bad absolutely worse ever Pupu Platter Chicken Wings dry, Crab Rangoon Yuk, Shrimp heavy batter couldn't taste Shrimp. Ribs just ok, Spring Rolls a winner and what they call Teriyaki Beef I know as Balamaki was great. I'm willing to give them another chance to change my 3 star rating. Great effort by cook just not up to par with dozen other Chinese restaurants in the area.“

Went back there because the only place that I had found where I live now, and the Chinese food was really good, closed down shortly after covid. “Best wings in town. I got the Krispy Chinese-BBQ wings with the delicious Asian sauce. Best wings hands down.
My other favorite dish is the sesame chicken which is delicious and fabulous every time. The Cholent was amazing. I will be eating from here again.“
