“A Californian and a Texan walk into a Midwest Taco joint… and are pleasantly surprised! Fun concept Tex-Mex menu with unique choices of sauces, meats, toppings, and shells to choose from. They have flights of special dips and signature margaritas, allowing for a fun and creative tasting experience starting with apps and drinks. For the mains, you can either build your own or taco/bowl/burrito or choose from one of their signature pairings from a large menu. They have several meat and non meat options to choose from, and our server Colby did an awesome job helping us navigate the menu to create a great Taco Tuesday experience. He took great care of us and made the fun but large menu even more approachable and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend trying it out, just keep in mind that if you are from CA/TX and like things SPICY, that the spice level on all items is geared towards a midwestern pallet aka on the milder side.“

I got the chorizo hash with scrambled eggs, and she got a breakfast sandwich. The wait wasn't too long, and you could see when you walked in that they were making everything fresh and to order, so you are definitely getting food right off the grill. I got the food and took it home. The hash was amazing and seasoned very well, the chorizo was tasty and the eggs were perfect but the potatoes were the best. She loved her breakfast sandwich. Danny, our server, was newly back to work at Pronto and I've never seen a server work so hard to accommodate people and ensure we were well cared for. the entire staff and clientele were so kind and encouraging. Jim Brady’s in Royal Oak is hands down one of the best group hangout spots in the area. The location alone is unbeatable—right in the heart of the action, bringing together a lively mix of people and that unbeatable Royal Oak energy. Whether you’re posted up at the bar, grabbing a booth inside, or soaking up the sun on the outdoor patio, there’s always plenty of seating and even more good vibes.

Now let’s talk about the real reason this review is being written: the grilled octopus appetizer. As someone who’s traveled to more than 15 countries and spent time off the beaten path in Italy dining alongside locals—not tourists—I can say with complete confidence that this octopus is a 10 out of 5. Perfectly grilled, tender with the right char, flavorful in all the right ways… it instantly transported me back to the cobblestone alleys of southern Italy where seafood is sacred.

My best friend Janessa is a burger girl through and through (and yes, Jim Brady’s burgers are excellent too), but if it were up to me, I’d have five plates of grilled octopus in front of me every time I come. I haven’t found a single restaurant in the U.S. that even comes close to this level of grilled octopus perfection. If you’re even thinking about going, do yourself a favor: order the octopus—you’ll never look back.

“My wife and I go here a couple of times a week, every Tuesday for sure for Taco Tuesday. They always have a unique special taco that is delicious (it was a take on a Big Mac this week). While primarily a brewery, we're whisky drinkers and they even have specials on cocktails during happy hour. All the food and drinks are fabulous and consistently cooked well, but the draw for us are the staff! Everyone there are always super friendly, always remember us, most have been there for years (or decades in some cases!), and we always feel like Norm walking in in Cheers. Last thing I'll mention is the 432 TV's (ok maybe not that many). If you enjoy sports, they always have games on and no matter where you sit you'll catch the action.“

“Went here for a pizza and garlic bread after hitting the Zoo all day and the food was perfect. The pizza and garlic bread had that slightly charred crust you find at good pizza places, and the food was served quickly. Pizza had plenty of toppings and a nice amount of sauce. Great price, nice atmosphere, the two workers were friendly. Will definitely come back here just for the pizza even though I live 30 minutes out.
Edit: There's paid parking on the street and the lot behind the restaurant. But since I went here on a Sunday, the lot parking was free!“

“This restaurant serves authentic lamb gyros. Need I say more? If you are into gyros, then you know there are “blends” with beef, which I do not eat. It’s refreshing to find genuine lamb. In addition, their team is consistent. Everything, including the rice pudding, is always fresh and filled with love. Don’t hesitate to stop in for lunch or dinner.“
