“Fun spot to get some flights of beer. Great drafts, fun design inside, gorgeous patio and the friendliest staff here. The staff member who helped us order was patient, he asked us about our visit, chatted with us while we constructed our flights, he was super personable and fun, and that made the experience all the more memorable. We loved the beers and ciders we tried. I’d recommend you try their sangria and seltzer too. We didn’t try any food.“

“WOW this place is impressive. Stunned!Mac greeted us with casual warmth. Real cool. Danielle served is with courtesy and fluid skill. The hard, low seats (very thin padding) make butt-pain set in quickly, and the hard surfaces without sound dampening reflect noise. Except for these factors the environment/aesthetic is cozy and delightful. When I saw the prices I was impressed (having tried other Saugatuck breakfasts). That explained why lots of older folks were here; it's the only affordable breakfast we've seen in Saugatuck. I assumed portions would be small, but nope! Omelettes are large and packed with goodies, pancakes are full-size, toast is cut thick, french toast is full-meal portion.Real butter, good jams, and creamer are on the table which was appreciated. We kinda tried everything. Muffin was great, both pancake types and the french toast are all excellent, bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly, loved the Denver omelette. After gorging, drinking coffee, and taking enough home for another entire meal (for both of us) we STILL came out with a bill of just $43.We will be eating here EVERY time we visit Saugatuck - maybe even daily!Parking: Parking will be more difficult when the town is packed. But this restaurant is at the far end of the bustling shop area, so not as bad as the restaurants right in the middle of it.“

“Great restaurant I highly recommend it. Chris and Chuck are great owners and take great pride in their business. We loved our sandwich and salad and so glad we stopped in during our visit to Saugatuck. The pizza looks amazing and the place was crowded. They also have a bar and a liquor license. Highly recommend.“

“Our service was great and our food tasted great but the portions were small. My husband got the 1/2 Perch dinner which was two pieces of fish and maybe a half handful of fries for $18. I had the Gorgonzola salad and it was delicious but again on the small side for $14. Great atmosphere.“

“I have been to The Southerner several times. I have waited minutes to hours for a table, and it was all time well spent. The whiskey selection will satisfy your fussy uncle, and the food will change your life. However, today, on day 1 of Pride, they have outdone themselves. Today, Queen's most underrated song, Radio Gaga was played loudly and fully while I sat at the bar drinking some Golden Blanton's. Life is good. Eat at the Southerner.“
