“Downtown Fennville is cute, one block long and all restaurants. The restaurant is a refurbed brick with new wood touches.\nLots of vegan items in a smaller menu. Unique approaches on the included proteins.\nThey bake their own bread and include many hardy types. If you like chewy bread this is your place. The food is hearty and tasty, but not fancy. \nLastly, the service is very friendly and aims to please.“

Nestled in the middle of the countryside where good food and excellent customer service can be rare finds, Pullman Tavern stands out as a true hidden gem. I happened upon it late in the evening, hungry and with no other dining options in sight. As I walked in, the staff kindly informed me they were nearing closing time. I explained there was nowhere else to eat in the area, and instead of turning me away, they went above and beyond to make sure I had a great meal.

The bartender and the cook could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Their warm hospitality immediately set the tone for my visit, and it was clear they genuinely cared about making my experience enjoyable. Even at the end of a long day, they treated me like a welcome guest rather than an inconvenience.

To my surprise, the burger I ordered was absolutely outstanding, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and far better than I ever expected from a small town tavern. The sides were equally satisfying, and my drink was mixed with just the right touch of elegance, exactly how I like it. While this is very much a tavern atmosphere, the quality of the food could rival a dedicated restaurant.

The Pullman Tavern also offers amenities like a pool table and a comfortable, relaxed vibe. The space is spotless, the atmosphere is inviting, and the friendliness of the staff is unmatched. This visit truly turned my trip through the area into an unexpectedly great experience.

If you ever find yourself in the middle of nowhere craving a great meal and genuine human kindness, Pullman Tavern is the place to go. I will absolutely go out of my way to stop in again the next time I am in the area. Without hesitation, I give it a full five stars.“

“We were a group of 3 senior ladies, traveling from Chicago to Traverse City, who stopped at Ida Reds for breakfast. They ask you to sign in and then seat you in that order. Phenomenal is the best word to describe our food. I haven’t had French toast as my mom cooked since I was a kid….I’m 73. Don’t like pancakes but I tasted them from my friend….gosh, what I’ve been missing! My other friend had the basted eggs with ham and fresh fried potato slices…enough for 2 people and WONDERFUL! Service was very attentive. Our biggest surprise was when we were presented with our bill. Haven’t eaten this inexpensively in forever. They hit the big 3..great food , great service, and great prices! Be sure to try it!“

At lunchtime, the place wasn't too crowded; there were a few guests, some just having drinks. The waitress was attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Eric, Donna, and Diamond went above and beyond to make our visit with our fur baby Jaxon Bleu comfortable, inviting, and beyond expectations. The food is incredible. It was definitely the treat of a lifetime for our 34th anniversary trip. We’re planning a re-visit in the near future.“
