“They got to order right, everybody was polite, there are napkins in the bag, and their service was speedy! The only negative is that the lettuce on my sandwich was all over in the rapper, so eating in the car was a little difficult without dropping lettuce (with dabs of mayo) everywhere.“

“Great place to stop for ice cream. There's usually a good crowd out, and it's a fun, sociable spot to hang out and enjoy a treat. I always look forward to stopping in.
That said, I can't really recommend the rest of the food. It's pretty cafeteria-style, like school lunch vibes. It'll work in a pinch if you're hungry, but the ice cream is definitely the reason to come.“

I have never had a bad experience coming here which is impressive considering how often that is. The consistent food quality and the people you employ keep me a "regular" customer. “I door dash all over Kalamazoo, portage, Battle Creek, and Grand Rapids and Ava is the only employee that has common sense and is the only one that actually put the order in another bag over the food paper bag that was plastic when the weather was not suited for paper bags. “Yesterday we recently visited Firehouse Subs on Westnedge Ave in Kalamazoo to celebrate our son’s birthday, his choice and it turned out to be a nice experience. He had been wanting their subs for a while, so he was especially happy we went.

We dined in and the atmosphere was standard, clean, casual, and comfortable. The food was as expected and consistent with what you’d expect from Firehouse Subs.

What really stood out was the service. The staff was friendly and attentive from the start. When we mentioned it was our son’s birthday, they acknowledged it and were very kind, which meant a lot to him. They also brought our food directly to the table, which was a nice touch.

One small moment that stood out was when I asked an employee the name of the movie playing on the television. She kindly offered to change it, even though I just wanted to know the name to watch later. It was a thoughtful gesture that showed great customer care.

“Okay so Google ask for readings on location, food, service and atmosphere. It is a Subway so I think that basically answers most of the questions. The store was very clean. The single-handedly complete did a great job and built us a very awesome tasting sub. I recommend it!“

“Jersey Giant on Centre is the only sandwich shop you need to visit around here IMO. The sandwiches are consistently great, and serving sizes are generous. You can turn any sandwich into a salad, and those are way better than they have any right to be (at least when they load it up with veggies how I like).

Local shop with Michigan roots, and I appreciate that they run a great student lunch special for a price that makes me wonder how they stay in business. A sandwich shop for the people!

The crew went above and beyond to contact me to let me know they believed my card information was stolen and was being used to place several back to back orders at their store.I hung up and blocked the first caller after assuming it was a scam (poor phone service on my end made the callers voice inaudible + I’d never lived in, near, or even been to Michigan before). The staff continued to make efforts to contact me from their personal phones, and when I finally answered again they alerted me of the theft. Because of their quick thinking and continued efforts to call me, I was able to cancel my card quickly without any major purchases going through! I stopped by the Subway inside the Walmart shopping center, and I’ve got to give credit where it’s due.
There’s one guy in there holding it down, and I respect that. Real humble, respectful, and easy to deal with. That kind of energy goes a long way.
When I ordered my sub, he made it quick and efficient, but still made sure it was done right. Fresh ingredients, clean setup—certified.
What stood out to me—because I take the time to do real reviews and record videos—I noticed more than I normally would. There’s a seating area off to the side and in the back, and when I turned around, I also caught the drinking fountain on the right-hand side that I didn’t notice at first.
That’s what happens when you move with intention—you start seeing more than the average eye.
Big respect to him for the service and consistency. I also dropped a video so people can see the setup for themselves.
If you’re in the area and want something quick, fresh, and made right—this spot is solid.

“I ate at Lees yesterday evening 8/27 for the first time in a while. The drive thru was slow when no one was inside. When I got up to the window the several of the female employees were very loudly yelling at each other. I’m guessing this is why the service was slow. The food was decent but definitely the employees need some management directive.“
