“I only had a sandwich and some mozzarella sticks but those were good and other people seemed happy with their meals - but mostly here to say the atmosphere / service at this place is unmatched. Amy & Heather who I got the opportunity to have as bartenders and servers both times I came (and they’re sisters! How fun) both went beyond the call of normal service. This place was the closest nearby spot to an emergency vet I took my dog to after an attack. I was obviously a bit solemn when I came in the first time for lunch and immediately they asked me if I was okay and both came around the bar to hug me when tears started welling and listened to my story and showed so much care and compassion for my poor doggy. When I came back a week later they recognized me IMMEDIATELY and asked how my boy was doing and were overjoyed when I said he’s healing well and getting stitched up today. I also wanted to come back to get their names just so I could be sure to mention them by name in a review because they certainly deserve it. Outside of that, clearly they (and the rest of the staff here) have compassion and familiarity with mostly everyone who walked in the door. They impressively remembered names, usual orders, and asked specific questions about peoples’ lives (and I was sitting at the bar for a long time while I waited for my dog both times and got to witness LOTS of interactions) - all were overwhelmingly positive. I love love LOVE this place. I live in Detroit and rarely come to the suburbs unless I need to - but I might have to start making Mr. Joe’s a regular stop ❤️❤️❤️❤️“

“Veronica was our server & her customer service was exceptional. We never had to ask for extra napkins, or fill ups on drinks. And when we requested things, she promptly provided them with a smile making us feel we were her only customers.
The food was also point on. This is one of the best Applebees in the area.

Kid-friendliness: Tuesdays are kids nights.“

“My waitresses had the vibe like she didn't wanna work today. Never came back to ask if I needed anything else i had to flag her down to ask for something else with my meal. I'm glad they don't do like Floods & add a automatic gratuity. I still gave her a few bucks but, check on yo customers & let them know off rip what do or don't come with their meal like Alfredo don't come with bread or meat automatically u have to purchase it smh!“

“As far as carryout goes, this location is quite decent. We've been a few times and our order was perfect; I'm glad they're here, as Southfield could still use places like Friday's.

We've gotten apps, entrees, salads, etc. and we had no complaints. The portion size of Cajun shrimp pasta is huge, so that's definitely appreciated. My Million Dollar Cobb was pretty huge as well. Fresh ingredients, good dressing, happy me. The potato skins were freshly fried and delicious. We will probably continue to get carryout here often. Thank you to the cooking staff and management for holding it down here.“

“Food was good and service was acceptable (nothing special) but you had a group of 5 guys leave your restaurant last night somewhat bewildered after your waitress Katarina made it quite clear she was not happy with the 20% tip we gave her. Apparently, our stay of about 3 hours eating and drinking was excessive. We may not be back.“

“We held our private event in the enclosed patio at Firebird in Troy. The patio was heated and decorated to look like a lodge. All of our guests felt like they were in a homey environment. The food and the service was impeccable. Our guests were so pleased at the attention to detail and the promptness of the serving staff. The event manager, Jenna, made the entire planning process easy and stress free. She helped us set up our buffet menu and was there day of assisting in decorating and making sure everything was in order. I would highly recommend hosting a private event here and plan to do so myself for future events!“

“This place has great food, better then some pricier restaurants I've been too.

Parking: The parking here can be tricky the parking lot is really small so you either have to fight for a spot or park at one of the trip malls nearby and walk over which isn't too far.

Kid-friendliness: Kids like it here, and I've seen kids sports teams go here.

Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult if you are in a wheelchair. I've seen people in the electric wheel chairs struggle to get through. The furniture is large and not easy to push out of the way for someone whose mobility is different.“

“I had such an incredible time doing Bingo and Bruch that I would be willing to visit every week. I absolutely loved it and I'll be back. Eveything was superb. Only thing we wanted was to stay longer for another game. I had breakfast because it was brunch and it was quite tasty. You can go wrong pairing brunch with a Mimosa.“

“The old locker room is where I met my husband of 35 years now, but the new locker has a great vibe as well. “The Hideout shocked me, i drove by for many years and figured it was a hole/little bar. When I walked in the interior was very nice. So the business end of the review, i had a cheeseburger with grilled onions and it was so darn good I was shocked. I came back the following night it was so good hoping they could replicate it, im not here for the drinks but the cheeseburger! Once again the chef comes through with a home run. Ill be back tomorrow or the next day, its that good and its of tremendous value, im not sure how they do it. The place is a gem!“

“Well, this is your typical somewhat hole in the wall bar, although a little more upscale than that.

The food typically is pretty good. The service not so much.

I probably should have given a little higher score for atmosphere.

My two biggest issues. The relatively minor, but annoying.
First, for most things other than fries there's an upcharge, about three bucks. But they don't tell you that typically, even when you ask
The other problem is they have begun charging a credit card surcharge. They are required by law to post notice of that, prominently displayed, and to let you know about it. But they don't do it.
Those two things are off putting.
Overall, though, reasonably good place.

Then we stopped at The Coach Grill on the way home and I had the absolute best corned Beef Sandwich I have ever had anywhere! The Burgers were prime meat and delicious! Best ever! “Not really much of a sports bar person in the past, and I have lived in Royal Oak for years and just started coming here. The service is always really great, but because it’s so popular sometimes it can get very busy, it’s a great place to watch a Lions game hockey game, etc. The staff is always been extremely personable, and the owners are almost constantly there. Definitely a place that cares about the product they are putting out, The pizza and the cheese sticks are delicious. I will literally die if the cheese sticks ever go away. Definitely an old school bar where you can actually speak to people and meet new people pretty much at any age group. Definitely not the norm for downtown Royal Oak.. Some of the other reviews sound like they’re probably from people who aren’t used to being in public.. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.“
