“I booked a reservation for two on a Saturday night at 6:00 PM. If we didn’t have a reservation, I don’t know if we would’ve been seated. Upon arrival, we were seated within 3-5 min. and were greeted immediately by a server, whom I can’t recall his name. I had the Steak & Frites with a glass of Sangria, while my boyfriend ordered a Ribeye. We were pleased with the quality of food, especially for the price you pay (approx. $45). We were also pleased with the live music not far from our table, which was just the right volume. Wish I would’ve gotten pictures of our food, but I was too hungry! We will definitely be back next time we’re in Holland!“

“Father's Day and server was very accommodating to move us to an outdoor table with shade. Despite being told over phone when we made reservations, there were no Father's Day specials which was disappointing.. Tomato soup with Borsin cheese was excellent. Another member of our party had fish chowder and said it was amazing. Fish tacos were disappointing.. soggy taco shells and despite all the interesting Toppings somehow lacking much flavor. I wouldn't order tacos again. Beach House Burger was enjoyed. Veggie Burger needed much more flavor.. was very dry and bland. Needs sauce or at least mustard. Beet Salad was good. Lemon Cake was nice but too sweet. Pistachio Creme Brulee was inspired. Overall food was average but good and we'll come back. It was lunchtime when we dined and would like to see what the chef does with breakfast and dinner.“

“The food here is always awesome. We came on Sunday and Zara was our server, as well as Joshua visiting the table, it was busy for how bad the weather was, but everything still came very quickly. I had the chicken sandwich with ranch and bacon and it was so good! Thanks Applebees!“

“We recently dined at Public Restaurant and we were thoroughly impressed by several standout dishes and cocktails.

The Southern Shrimp Beignets were a delightful start to the meal. These savory beignets, complemented by hot honey, blue crab, and pimento cheese, offered a blend of flavors that set the tone for the evening.

The Public Prime Cheeseburger was a testament to classic comfort food done right. Served on a pretzel bun with a choice of cheese and accompanied by hand-cut fries, it was both satisfying and flavorful.

The Maple Basted Scottish Salmon was paired with butternut squash, whipped goat cheese, bacon-onion jam, and finished with maple brown butter, each bite was a delightful combination of sweet and savory.

The Midwest Wedge salad was refreshing and delightful. Topped with buttermilk ranch dressing, candied bacon, red onion, tomato, and crumbled bleu cheese, it provided a crisp and flavorful balance to the meal.

Public Restaurant is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual and special occasions. The attentive service further enhanced the dining experience. The waitress came by to refill our waters several times throughout the service (even if they were slightly less full).

“This place has always been the heart of Holland , considering the Dutch background. The pies are always delicious as well as the morning glory muffins . Mhm . Simply to die for . Pigs in the blanket are always fresh . The cloud bread the should mix the herb & cheese together to create a new kind . Or add some extra cheese inside before they cook“

They do happy hour from 4pm - 7pm and there are some great deals on drinks and food. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Arielle is our favorite bartender. Tip her well!“

“Decided to take a quick day trip up to Grand Haven with a few friends, wandered around the gorg town for a bit before we decided to stop into Kirby. It was probably one of the best decisions we could have made. Even with the wait time (which was only 30 mins) they made it extremely easy. We were able to shop around town while we waited for our table to be ready. That’s not even the best part. The food was absolutely amazing I highly recommend the Margarita pizza, and Rosemary fries. The drinks were delicious and very fairly priced. The cherry on top was our amazing server Grace who even in a busy restaurant gave us 5 star service. Grace was kind, patient and probably the funniest person we met on our trip. I would highly advise the owners of this amazing restaurant to give Grace either a raise or some type of bonus, employees like that are hard to come by and should be cherished by all.“

“So I always hate to leave bad staff reviews, but sometimes I have to tell it how it is. The staff was ok for bar staff, when they did come by or you get service it was ok. Getting service was tough, you would sit for a long time with no one coming by, and you will have to flag them down. The food that I ordered was forgotten, and I did have to say "hey were is my sandwich?" And my second drink. I got a friend "oh sorry" and such, and truthfully I'm ok with it I'm no Karen about that. Maybe management needs to hire more help, or help them with a bit more training/insight, but it is what it is for a hotel bar. The food selection is bleak at best, I have a feeling it's due to the kitchen equipment that is available. The worst part was the morning breakfast time, my wife went down at 6 minutes past when breakfast was done. Grabbed coffee and went to have grab a bagel that was still sitting there on the buffet, only to have a teenage boy yell at her to leave it, because breakfast was over. I get yes it was over, but it wasn't a special request, no prep needed, just a bagel in a plactic bin, but nope leave it lady.“

“The service was great I wouldnt ask for more me and my fiancee was eating there and I seen something on my fiancee plate like the plate was dirty so I called my waiter (Nick) over and I told him I was like it looks like my fiancee plate is dirty is it possible for me to get a new one . He said sure I will transfer your food to a different plate . He ask if that was better and I said yes and thank you so much for doing that .

“Russ’s offers an American based restaurant with a Dutch spin to it. It’s been around for many years, and I have fond memories from both dining there and working there during my early college years. The food is very good value, salads are fresh however, they tend to be iceberg lettuce based. Desserts are fresh and made at their own facility. I recommend it as a novelty. It’s very popular with tourists to come to the area for a bit of a Dutch experience.“
