“Been going to this place since it was in Ann Arbor. The food is great with some of the best fish curry and naan around. The balance of flavor and spice have always been on point. Just like the place in A2, the food is clearly the priority as the environment is nothing special. We were bummed when they closed shop in A2, but excited to see it resurface close to home. Looking forward to many future visits.“

“The staff was great. My sister and I loved everything that we ordered. The hummus was perfect with the bread it is served with. We got a couple strawberry smoothies that were so fresh. The meal was so fresh with quality ingredients. My sister and I are still talking about our meals days later. The garlic sauce paired great with our meals. My sister got the cubes beef kabobs and I got fahsah chicken. They also have a kid friendly menu we got my niece chicken nuggets and fries. Will definitely be returning.Parking: Plenty of free parking around the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu is clear on the first inside panel of the menu.“

“Eating at Chennai Express is the closest you’ll feel to being in Tamil Nadu in Southeast Michigan.I’ve eaten at Chennai Express a couple of times now, and it’s always been an excellent experience overall — great food, great service, and to top it off, it feels like home. They’ve got a solid menu of options, including all of your favorite South Indian dishes as well as a few other non- standard options. I love the Mysore Masala Dosa here, but their curries and Biriyanis are excellent too.The interior is pretty simple and straightforward, but there’s something to be said for a no-nonsense approach to good food. Santhosh is always really nice — helpful with the menu for those who are less familiar, and especially makes you feel like you’re back in India if you speak Tamil!Pro Tip: they have a weekend special menu that’s only available on Sundays! It’s featured lots of authentic and rare dishes in the past, so I’d recommend checking it out on Instagram to see what they’ll be offering for the coming Sunday!Overall, definitely check out Chennai Express if you’re looking for good South Indian food anywhere remotely near Plymouth, MI!“

“What a fantastic meal!! I mean top-notch! From the delicious tandoori wings to each and every slice of pizza ordered, my family and I were pleased. I honestly loved the food. The service was quick and accurate, so there were no complaints there. The staff were super nice and very welcoming. I was only in the parlor for a hot second, but it was nicely laid out for a small space and very inviting.A little on the food: We started off with Tandoori wings (5pc) and veggie puffs for an appetizer. Both were excellent. The wings had that great tandoori flavor and were cooked excellently. As for the veggies puffs, we loved them. That said, I wish that the parlor offered a mint or tamarind side sauce. Please consider it! ? Still, they were great without. As for the pizzas, we ordered three different kinds, and all were amazing. I can't tell you if one stood out over the others, as all of them brought something to the meal. Whether it was the spiciness of the stage chicken, the zing of the chili paneer, or the subtleties of the vegetarian korma, we enjoyed them all. I, for one, cannot wait to order again. Will be back and have already recommended it to others at work.Think about a side mint or brown sauce!Vegetarian options: Tons of options. Vegan too.Parking: Plenty of parking. It is located inside a strip mall.“

“At the owner’s recommendation I had a lamb sandwich, which was delicious—super flavorful and had a nice heat/spiciness to it (which can be hard to find around here sometimes!). The owner is friendly and has an interesting story. Overall fantastic value (the price makes it possible to tip well :) ) I’ll definitely be back and look forward to trying other things on the menu!“

“I am a regular at this place to say the least for last 9 years, so I have seen the place transition from a compact 15 table seating to the what it is currently. All vegetarian restaurant and excellent tasting food. You would like each and every item on their menu. All the chaat items are really good. I would definitely recommend to try it if you're fan of chaats. Dahi puri is my go to. Bhature have become less oil over the years but taste of chole has gone down. Pav bhaji is nice and so is puri bhaji. I am not a fan of sambar here, even if I get dosa, I stick to masala dosa and eating chutney and bhaji. Dabeli is also a good option. Mango lassi and Faluda are great but very sweet, if you’re on diet, skip it.As of 2024, they have launched lunch combos which is a great business idea and so is for customer. You can try a meal and chat item for $15 with some dish restrictions.Wait time is usually around 30-45 minutes on late busy Saturday evening, other than that day it's pretty manageable. Service staff is very friendly and even in busy times they’ll make sure you have a good experience.Abundant parking available. Place is clean and has sufficient seating.“

“I really want to give Raja Rani 5 stars but am so frustrated with their website that I’m tempted to give one star. Our food was outstanding but I caution you to not use the Online Ordering tab on their website. Unbeknownst to me and with no notification, when I clicked the online order tab on the website I entered my order on DoorDash. There was nothing on the page to indicate DoorDash. When we picked up the order we were told it had been placed via Door Dash. The prices were ridiculously inflated. An example: $3.99 for an order of raitha instead of $1.99 as listed on their menu. Each entree was at least $5 more. All told we spent an additional $25 above and beyond menu prices. So frustrating and disappointing.. Please fix your website!!“

“The service here was absolutely unmatched! We were treated like we were personal guests in someone's home. My friend and I went here and ordered takeout and sat at one of the tables while we waited. We changed our minds and decided to eat in the restaurant so we informed the woman at the counter. She immediately grabbed our food and began unpacking it for us at the table. We told her we could do it, but she insisted, stating that "we are her guests so she can serve us!" She even brought our dessert back to the kitchen to keep it warm until we were ready. Such kind and considerate staff. Very friendly atmosphere and the food was phenomenal!“

“Ordered half tray biryani for pick up, and I must say, the taste was on point. The quality of the ingredients was evident, contributing to the richness and depth of the dish. The spices were perfectly balanced, adding complexity without overwhelming the palate. However, the aftermath wasn't as pleasant - dealt with some heartburn later on.On the upside, the place was spotless, and the service was quick and efficient. The efficiency of the service was commendable, with my pick-up order prepared and ready right on time.Overall, A decent spot for a flavorful meal, but watch out for the heartburn. Just be mindful of potential digestive issues, and you're in for a truly memorable dining experience.“

“I went to Pakwaan for lunch today and was happy to see they had a lunch buffet. I love being able to graze across a range of Indian dishes, and the buffet allowed me to do just that. There was a wide assortment available with all of my favorites included (tandoori chicken, butter chicken, naan, paneer masala, and much more). The spicy noodles were amazing with just enough flavorful heat to light up your taste buds but not so much that you're in pain. There was even a delicious mango dessert. The price was what you'd pay anywhere in Plymouth for lunch, if not a little less, and the assorment was amazing. We were seated quickly, hit the buffet, and were easily back to work on time. If you enjoy the variety offered by a fresh Indian buffet, definitely check them out for lunch. If you have something particular in mind, check out their menu. Highly recommended!“

“Great Indian restaurant, and if you haven’t tried Indian food before I highly recommend trying it. We had Tandoori Chicken, Momos and Cardamom Cheesecake. The cheesecake reminded me of “Shreekhand” - which is a traditional Indian dessert popular in the state of Maharashtra. I’m originally from Maharashtra, so when I had the first bite it took me home- so thanks to the Chef!! I really loved this interesting take on cheesecake. Momos were just perfect! Tandoori chicken was well balanced with spices. Overall it was good experience and I’ll definitely go back to try some other dishes.“

“I've never been treated so rude. 1 of the 2 men working COMPLETELY ignored me and took the white guy's order behind me. Only after seating him did he barely acknowledge me and ask if I was Doordash or what I ordered. Mine was online, I drove 20 min out to get there and it still took another 20 min to get my food. I will never spend money here or any other Indian restaurant again. They've ruined it for me. You're just as brown as me and treated me so poorly. Shame on Namaste. I wish I could give it a 0.“

“We organized our kids first birthday at their restaurant. We used the space to put up some birthday backdrop and balloon decorations but the highlight was their food. All my friends loved the food. Gulab jamun, rose milk and onion samosas are my favorite from this place. We often get catering done from their restaurant because they can prepare quite a lot of dishes which might not be in their menu also.“

“Went there for the first time the other day. The food was excellent!!! So glad we have some options in Ypsilanti. There haven't been too many Indian-style restaurants around here. I got the mutter paneer and my partner got the shrimp sampler. Everything was delicious and the owner was super friendly. They seemed pretty busy for carry out so it looks business is doing good. I hope they stay around for a long time!!“
