“Current is great! Chef Sam has an excellent menu, and the Staff GM Justin Glover has put together is always welcoming and friendly. I go there often and am impressed at the pace Lynn consistently displays, what a firecracker. Peg also has such a comforting voice what a treat to see her. Bring your puppy to the patio and enjoy the food, the cocktails, and hospitality!“

“We parked at one end of Hudson and walked the main strip looking for a new place to eat. We stumbled on Black Rooster ?, and it called to us. There's a steep flight of stairs leading you into the cool cave like atmosphere of the place. We had wine ? and smoked old fashioneds (yum) to start. We had the pan-roasted chicken breast ? and seared sea scallops, which were both amazing. The menu rotates, so who knows what we'll get next time (and there will be a next time).Parking: There are pay parking lots all along the main strip (pay only during specific hours).“

“Colleen was a great server. We felt the ease of accommodation at some of our requests. The food choices here keep you wanting to come back and try other things. And they also have some considerably healthy options as well. I left full but not feeling fully "greased" out by an overuse of oils and fats.“

“I adore this place! The food is delicious, at least the dishes I’ve tried (I’m vegetarian so I’ve only had a few dishes), and I love that they have art and local goods to buy throughout the place. Sometimes it gets pretty busy which for me can get a little overwhelming to be in such a loud and crowded place, but that is more of a “me problem.” I always go for the grilled cheese pretzel and tomato basil soup combo for lunch (pictured) and in the morning I get the Nutella Nordic waffle!“

“Had a great first-time visit. Such a unique experience in a historical restaurant. If you were driving by, you would never expect more than a local dive bar with food. The service, food - both quality and diverse offering - was excellent. I started with a chocolate orange martini. Then, I had a wonderful gryo sandwich. I am not sure how the meat is prepared vs. the typical meat, but it was less greasy and tender. For the side I chose the Athena potatoes with feta. We didn't have a wait around 7pm on a Saturday, but I can see that the small footprint could cause a wait a popular times but well worth it.“

“Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with my sister. She's not a huge burger person and she's been telling me how much she loves their burger here. I knew I had to try it. We started with spicy Bloody Mary.... Meal of champions. It was excellent. I ordered the cheeseburger and let me tell you, my sister wasn't kidding.... It was juicy, hot, and delicious. Fries were nice and hot. Next time, I'll ask for extra pickles. Small little dive bar. Lots of locals. Staff were very nice and friendly. You order your food at the window and it comes out quickly. There's a liquor store attached to the bar... that's pretty neat. I also stopped in here before a wedding in February for a few drinks before heading to the Lake Elmo Inn Event Center. Another good experience. If you're in the area or if you're in the mood for bar food, I highly suggest giving it a try. Prices are great too! WIN WIN in my book.“

Nova Bar Bar • $
236 Coulee Rd, Hudson - 4.87 miles

“Finally made it across the river to Nova today. My visit left me in the state of "how many times were you told to get here... & kept saying...mehh... I will? Well today did not disappoint! I loved the small brunch cocktail menu, not overwhelming and some great options, the bloody with dill pickle ice was very tempting! I opted for the Knob Creek Colab Sour, it was delicious & not too sweet so I sucked it down in two sips! It paired perfectly w hanging out w buddies on the patio! I like that he patio had options of small square tables, round tables and picnic tables w umbrellas! There's a small parking lot, that if it's full you can easily park along the Coulee curb. Boomin Barbecue has residency and w the Libations for Everyone podcast recording today I opted for the Knob Creek burger, "Smoked & Seared Burger, American Cheese, Smoked Pork Belly, Bourbon Braised Onions, Pickles, Knob Creek Aioli on a Sesame Potato Bun". I'm sorry, correction: the DELICIOUS Knob Creek burger!!! The bar was comfortable and spacious, read: you weren't touching legs w the chair next to you. You can see the two bathrooms from the bar, they're not tucked away in some corner. I like that there is a garage door open to the spacious patio. I was able to have a few words w the friendly owner. I may have drug my feet to have my inaugural visit, but I am positive there will be no delay on my next visit. Thanks Nova for such a fun, comfortable and delicious afternoon, cheers!“

“My girlfriend and I recently checked out Post American Eatery for the first time and had an awesome experience! The atmosphere was really cool and relaxed, and the staff was incredibly friendly. My girlfriend ordered the Beef Ragu and loved it! The meat was super tender, and the sauce was just right. I went for the Prime Rib special, and it was delicious – cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Our server was great, too – really helpful and laid-back. We're definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes. If you're looking for a place with great food, a cool vibe, and excellent service, I'd highly recommend giving Post American Eatery a try. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back!“

“We went tonight for the first time to hear a band my husband wanted to check out. I looked at the menu on their page and found something I could eat ( being gluten free sometimes menus are limited) but I ordered the trash can Nacho's and omg they were huge. Enough for 2-3 people. Beef chicken or carnitas. I did the chicken. There were so many flavors heaped on top, they were delicious. My husband had a hot roast beef dip sandwich and he said it had a bite and was awesome.Live music upstairs at 9pm. Earlier downstairs was a piano player and everyone sang along. Yes they did Billy Joel the piano man lol. It was a fun crowd, fun atmosphere and good food. We'll definitely go again.“

“Conveniently located off the frontage road of Hiway 61, it does resemble a big red barn. There is a banquet hall/area with entry in the back of the parking lot. Tuesdays offer tacos (good tacos-self serve taco bar) & Johnny NO Cash Country band, on Wednesday its bingo. The kitchen offers pub grub as well as Heggies Pizzas. I was looking forward to an order of chicken wings, but the kitchen ran out of wings. Next time we come here to line dance, will try to get the wings again!“

“My daughter and I stopped by this Saturday after a lovely 2 hour St. Croix cruise. The rooftop bar was inviting and comfortable, as we were able to snag a part of the couch! We enjoyed a couple of apps-cheese curds and pretzles with 2 different dipping sauces. They were both delightful! They have a great Mule selection. I had the bourbon Mule, and taking the bartender's suggestion, my daughter chose the prickly pear Mule. Both were great, really refreshing and was a perfect end to a great afternoon. We both agree we are coming back! Thanks Mallory's!“

Bennett's Chop & Railhouse - Hudson New American • $$

“Booked for Mother's Day a week prior. Was hoping to find a brunch option but was unable due to poor planning. To my surprise they were serving a brunch buffet beginning at 11AM. It was fantastic and a great surprise! In the future I hope they advertise on their website that they are serving brunch on Mother's Day. Otherwise, great experience.“
