I’ve only been once, but wow, low lighting, a little moody, very date-night energy. Whether it’s a first date or you’ve been together forever, it just works. My go-to is the lobster roll (don’t overthink it, just order it). Also… prepare yourself for the desserts. “Made the reservation on short notice, on a Friday evening.\nThe hostess at the front desk could not have been more accommodating, especially considering that we had two infants in tow.\n\nService was very slow, entirely due to how busy the restaurant was (last Friday before Christmas), but also very courteous. My fault for not inspecting the itemized bill closer i would have expected staff to share that a 21% gratuity was already included (not to mention an additional “administrative “ fee was also included) before I added an additional 20% gratuity.“

“We were here for dinner over the weekend and everything about this place was phenomenal we tried multiple things off of the to share or not portion of the menu and loved every bit of it. The whole grilled fish our waitress mentioned rotates depending on what is available fresh and it was cooked to Perfection and probably our favorite thing all weekend. The cocktail menu is unique and everything that we had the opportunity to try was delicious I highly recommend doing the cocktail flight to anybody who doesn't have a favorite spirit. Staff was incredibly friendly and knew what they were talking about if you had questions. To those looking at going here reservations are a must!!!! Great atmosphere as well“

“We had a fantastic date night at Joan’s! Highly recommend! The food was incredible. Perfect pacing, portions, wine pairings, and the flavors have you closing your eyes to experience each bite. “-Vinai MN- My friend and I wanted to try Chef Yia's restaurant due to being homesick and wanting hmong food. We were met with such great service and sat where we could see the work area. Chef Yia was so kind and started us off with a complimentary appetizer, rice Curry balls. We ordered and the food came so fast. As soon as I took a bite, my eyes started to get teary because it tasted like food from home. I started fanning myself to not cry which Chef Yia saw and asked if the food was too spicy. We then started to explain that we were not from MN and were feeling a bit homesick and how the food reminded us of home. Chef Yia then said, here let's do this. He returned with a pot of beef soup that consisted of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, beef and green onion and white rice and shared that this dish was one of those dishes that we would eat at gathering and events. We we so shocked and so at loss with his kindness and compassion. We both took a bite and immediately lighted up. It tasted like my mom's cooking 💓. As we were nearing the end of our meal, Chef Yia told us not to stuff ourselves too full and surprised us with a complimentary dessert which further awed us. We were so lost at words for Chef Yia's kindness, generosity and comfort. We chose the Lava Cake and it was soooo good! I normally don't like sweets but we devoured this 😋. 1000/10 would recommend.“

“My waiter Addison was great and very attentive. However, the short rib sandwich was over cooked and over priced. On line there were a couple of items that I didn't see on the actual menu while at the restaurant. We were given the lunch menu at the front door, this really confused me, later Addison eventually figured it out. The rest of the experience was nice. The comedy acts were funny, except for the second to last guy, that totally bombed, as part of his act was to call all women bitches. He was poorly prepared, and otherwise was not funny at all, and should not be invited back.“

“Our daughter hosted her wedding here in October 2025. We enjoyed a beautiful outdoor wedding on the terrace and then guests enjoyed the lobby, bar area, ballroom and terrace for an evening of fun, laughter and dancing. Guests commented it was the best wedding food they had ever had (appetizers and meal) and that the portions were large. We’re still hearing fun stories of the day from family and friends. “Came here for a date night and the patio did not disappoint. You're sitting on this pretty cobblestone street right on the river with the skyline across the water — honestly one of the best views in the city. We split the flatbread and the cucumber salad, both really fresh and light, and the cocktails were solid. Service was a touch slow when it got busy but the vibe more than made up for it. There was live music too. We'll be back, ideally before sunset next time.“
