“I love the food and the atmosphere at Yum! Everything is so delicious. My go-to is the tuna melt. Their homemade potato chips are so addictive. My daughter craves the Mac and cheese. Their nut goodly bar is the stuff of dreams. I did call them this week as I wanted to pick up a dessert for a dinner party where a couple of people keep kosher. None of the desserts are kosher which is a bummer. It hasn't diminished my love for the place but when I googled "kosher desserts" for Minneapolis, yum! came up.“

“If you had told me my daughter and son in law were regulars at this place I would have been amazed. WELL, THEY ARE! And off we go to watch Purdue (son in laws alma mater) play in the final four. In fact, all their friends (I affectionately call "the squad") is also coming. We arrive and the squad is greeted by staff and regulars. A pitcher of Hamms beer arrives as well as wings. My daughter explains, "as soon as we walk in, that order goes in." The server, Heather, is beloved by the squad and she takes great care of them and they do the same to her! ? the wings are juicy and smoky. Very meaty. Pretty darn good! Atmosphere is hearty and happy. I can see why the squad comes here! Love the staff. Love the atmosphere (God Bless America). Love the down home food and libations! Yes, looking forward to my next visit!“

We have gotten the firecracker shrimp appetizer and are never let down! Just incredible and they are cooked in a swirl shape, making a fun app. The chicken avo egg roles were much larger than expected. Very good, but the chicken pieces were pretty large and not as much shredded as expected. Service was great! Food was hot and came out fast. It was quiet and or back during this not peak time.“

“Had a wonderful dinner date here on a Wednesday night. It was still a very busy night for the resturant, meaning there were some tables that were spaced inches apart in the main area and making it loud enough that conversation was occasionally difficult to hear. The food though, was wonderful. We started with a couple of cocktails, the Mamakuna and La Clandestina, both of them were tasty, being fruity and light, in their respective ways. The first food we got was the masa & guacamole along with the corn elote, which go together in a fun mix-n-match way. For mains, we got chicken tinga tostadas and the seared scallops. The chicken tinga was a lot of savory deliciousness without being to heavy and the seared scallops were full of vibrant flavors, and surprisingly spicy with the salsa macha. And of course, we got the churros for dessert. They were fun and tasty, with the dulce de leche and sweetend cream, I definetly favored the cream, but I'm less of a sugar person.I would love to go again, but I think I will wait until the patio is open to get some more elbow room and bring down the noise level.Parking: The parking lot is very small, fewer than a dozen spots. There is plenty of street parking, but it's a busy area.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no curb on entry. The entranceway is pretty tight, it's got a straight hall to the left inside the front door, straight to the front desk. To get into the seating area is a right turn from facing the desk.In the seating area, there is very little room between tables, to the point where some of the tables are literally inches apart. There is a wide through path to the back of the building, where kitchen and restrooms are located. The restrooms are roomy but have low toilets.“

He even said at one point, "We gotta stop!" We both had the walleye taco bowl. The fish was fresh and seasoned very well. It was the perfect portion size as well. We enjoyed the 80's music being played. There was a "buzz" in the restaurant of people meeting socially and a few people for business. We loved our waitress who gave us a list of other restaurants to try in the area. The only negative thing we have to say is that the mocktail sangria was overly tart and my blueberry mocktail was overpowered with fizz.“

“My recent dinner at Spoon and Stable in Minneapolis was an experience that truly stood out in my culinary adventures. This beautifully restored horse stable turned restaurant offers a warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for a remarkable evening. The menu, curated by Chef Gavin Kaysen, is a testament to his expertise and commitment to showcasing the best of Midwest ingredients with a French twist. We started with the foie gras terrine, which was rich and perfectly balanced, and it became an instant favorite at our table. For my main course, I chose the duck breast, which was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a side that complemented the duck without overshadowing it.What really made our meal unforgettable was not just the food but the service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic about their work. They recommended excellent wine pairings that elevated our dining experience. The dessert rounded off the evening on a high note, with creative and delightful options that were as beautiful to look at as they were to taste. The ambiance, service, and exquisite cuisine made Spoon and Stable a dining destination that I can't recommend highly enough. Whether for a special occasion or a treat-yourself night out, this restaurant promises an evening that’s both enchanting and satisfying.“

“Don't play with them ok!! This gem was a great surprise that served up AMAZING food, OUTSTANDING service and a BEAUTIFUL color concept. We went for lunch and enjoyed every bit of it! Our server was Bobbie he was knowledgeable and had plenty of excellent suggestions for us. Oh and make sure you ask him to tell you a bad dad joke lol The food was plated beautifully and the flavor combos were refreshing and a total party in your mouth. We had the sweet potatoes to share then we each had an entree the Ivy burger and the BLT and finally we shared the brown butter cake. The sweet potatoes were yummy and the sauce went with it so well, burger was so moist it was dripping with juicy flavor after each bite, fries done to perfection ( I love a good fry especially one u can't eat naked without anything), the BLT had a garlic aioli that I loved and a fried green tomato sealed the deal and last but not least that brown butter cake with Marscapone cheese OMG it was sooooooooo good and all the flavors complimented each other. One of the owners Viorica stopped by the table after we were done to introduce herself and chat for a few. I thought that was super sweet!! Overall this place was FABULOUS and I can't wait to bring my husband back to try everything. Great concept, nice location and love the decor ❤️ Thanks for a great lunch!!!!“

Dinner

“This is the finest dining in Minneapolis, hands down. I went in February 2024 and everything was executed with meticulous care. Every single dish was perfectly balanced. There was nothing superfluous, nothing too heavy, nothing too acidic. The wine pairings were well thought out. Also, none of the staff forgot I was a pescatarian at any point. It was also the perfect amount of food. For the quality of the food the prices were extremely reasonable. I have been to most of the fine dining establishments in the Metro and don't think the others, like Travail or Spoon and Stable, which are amazing in their own right, can really compare to Tenant. This is where you bring a true foodie if you want to impress them.“

“My bestie and I needed some fuel after a day at the Canterbury Spring craft fair. We wanted to try somewhere new with variety. Nachos were on the mind. Stopped in around 5pm on Saturday. Parking lot and restaurant was packed. We arrived and were greeted right away. Asked if we had a reservation which we didn't, but were seated within 5 minutes. I was a little shocked as it's very rare to be seated that quickly with a reservation. Our waitress Emilee was so friendly and did a wonderful job. She brought our beverages right away. She checked in often as well. I ordered the smash burger and my bestie ordered the nachos and side of French fries with a side of garlic aioli sauce. Unfortunately, the French fries were not hot, so we asked for new ones. Smash burger was fantastic. Hot, juicy, and just yummy. My bestie said nachos and French fries (once the new ones came out) were good. Nacho portion was huge. Next time, ask for more meat and maybe not so much queso, but overall tasty. The dessert menu had both of our favorites- key lime pie and chocolate cake. Of course we had to order it, but we asked for it to go. Let me just tell you, I wish I would have ordered dessert to start. Chocolate cake was amazing (sorry, forgot to take a photo). So chocolatey and the frosting amount was perfect. Key lime pie was good too. It was like a whipped version which was tasty. During our visit the manager stopped over to ask how dinner was. You don't see that too often so that was nice. Restaurant was big. Seating is also available outside as well. I thought it was neat how there were umbrellas on the ceiling- unique. I'd like to come back and try the pizza and more chocolate cake.“

Didn't like the pop music, but that I'd what you get when you go to a restaurant in the city.I had the burger with no tomato, no secret sauce and avacado. Massive burger, came with fries and lettuce and pickles, had to put them on myself. Couldn't finish the whole thing but was AMAZING. Burger cooked well, no overdo on the sauce or anything like that. “Came to Char Bar for the first time for happy hour on Saturday with Kim T. Char Bar is a speakeasy on the inside of Butcher & Boar (through the glass doors). We arrived around 4:45 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crazy busy, we were one of a handful of tables. The hour menu was pretty good! A good amount of food and drink items ranging between $6-10. I had the Chicken Sammy ($10), Kim had an Arby's style 3 Way Beef & Cheese sando ($17), and we split the Curly Fries ($6). I also ordered two of the non happy hour burgers to go ($8/each). I really liked my sandwich a lot, chicken was perfectly crispy, the slaw was savory and sweet, Polynesian vibes. I would absolutely get it again! Kim liked her sandwich but she said the sauce was too much and soaked the bottom of the bun, the curly fries were fine. I had a dragon tattoo cocktail, serenity pineapple rum cocktail, and a frozen rum & cherry coke slushy. Drinks were boozy but pricey! Loved the menu showing the drinks very cute and visibly pleasing. Update: Butcher Burger ($8) was sensational! It's no Parlour Bar burger but it's sooo good, tasted gourmet and traveled well. Fun fact: the restaurant group over Parlour Bar also owns Char Bar! I liked the pickled onions and the chipotle mayo cheese sauce, good solid burger for a good price!“

“My expectations were probably too high walking in. The food was good, not as outstanding or as interesting as I would have thought. The grilled sea salt oyster on the way in was tasty. They brought us well prepared chicken, some sushi small bite, and other things I can't remember a month later that were enjoyable. The cake was dry and not worth the calories (or cost). The dietary restriction I indicated was missed but they were able to adjust in the moment. The atmosphere was lovely upstairs. We ate in the covered outdoor area at a shared table.“

“I come to and enjoy Brasa consistently enough that I should finally write a review. The short: service is consistently friendly and helpful, food is consistently good, great gluten-free option with (thus far) no cross-contamination incidents, and a very casual atmosphere. All of my friend group have different favorites: the egg sandwich, the pork bowl, the chilaquiles (my personal favorite.) Every protein comes in different forms: a plate, a sandwich, or a bowl. Most options (except the sandwiches and a couple of sides) are gluten-free. Quick run down of what I've tried: * Chilaquiles with red sauce (the GOAT): the red sauce is such a great flavor and pairs well with the smothered chicken. Their pickled jalapenos and an egg on top makes it a perfect weekend lunch dish. * Egg sandwich: the red sauce reappears on this, to great effect once more. Otherwise it's a simple-but-great egg sandwich served with their tortilla chips. * Fish sandwich: not bad, not my favorite. Flavors are not as punchy as the other options I've had. * Mac and cheese: delightful and simple, thick cheese sauce, no complaints. Crispy yuca, fried plantains, sweet cornbread, also all good. Really, the menu is full of great options. Their beverages don't disappoint either, the coffee and tea are very nice quality -- tea always comes out with a great color and flavor (not bitter at all), coffee pleases even the pickiest coffee nerds in my friend group. Also: no tipping, service fees are built into the menu prices.“

“I enjoyed my dining experience here. There was an approximately 10 minute wait to be seated. We sat at the bar. I liked the seats because we could see the food coming out of the kitchen and the hustle and bustle of the wait staff right in front of us. My order was correct and the food was hot and tasted great. The pancakes are HUGE! Though I do not eat gluten, my date said his pancakes had a lot of blueberries and the taste was great! I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was noisy and music was playing overhead. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it. The staff was attentive and kind. I highly recommend this restaurant ?“

“I am from Chicago, but the food and wine in this delightful place was the best Mexican food we have ever had. It was surprising that it was not crowded. It is probably because it is known as a pancake house but I would call it American Mexican Fusion restaurant. There is even a party room where we plan to host a gathering . There is a karaoke machine too for those interested.“

“In the past, I’ve had great experiences here. I’ve brought several friends for their first visits. Food and drinks are great, always; tonight was no exception. Tonight, however, we had such negative experiences with staff. Our table wasn’t ready as reserved. It happens, usually no big deal, but they told us it would be just a minute and they’d let us know. it was 15 before I went back to the host table to ask about it and no one seemed to know what I was talking about. At the time three people were behind the host desk and I had walked by three servers chatting on my way in). Because of this, we lost one of the people who was going to join us. Another member of our party had to get to work (the reason we had reserved a time) and by the time our table was ready, he didn’t have time to order an entree. To be fair, we did have two people who were supposed to join us not show up and I understand that’s frustrating, but we were the ones who DID show up and had (or tried to have) an app, entres and multiple drinks. Besides the app coming late (with the entree, even though I asked a second time about it before ordering the entree), one of the entrees we ordered was wrong, but we had given up on anyone caring by that time. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the hosts and our server. I think he actually may have rolled his eyes more than once. I felt like I was somewhere that needed table turnover or at a dive bar where polite service isn’t really an expectation, but there were open tables near us and we didn’t complain about our late table or app. And we communicated about our absent party members as best we could once we knew. Usually, we tip really well because we’ve worked food service and understand it’s hard work and stuff happens. We understand EVERYONE is short-staffed right now, but we are still paying for a babysitter and nights out are precious, even when expected friends have things come up or don’t have time to wait for a table. If I want someone to roll their eyes at me, I’ll stay home with my teen and do it for free, thanks. Sincerely, it doesn’t take much to satisfy us (a couple weeks ago we tried Colita for the first time and our table was over an hour late, but the staff were polite and did their best to make our experience pleasant and I didn’t feel like I was a burden despite the extremely busy restaurant) but tonight after waiting, then a couple attempts to flag down the server so we could get home to relieve the babysitter, my husband finally had to go look for the server for a box (for the wrong entree that we didn’t finish) and the check. I know staffing is short right now and customers can be super-rude, but we aren’t rude and this was too much. No matter how good the blueberry smash and location on the lake are, I don’t think I’ll be back, and definitely not with friends. And I don’t think the two people who joined us as first-time guests will be back either - they were already skeptical about leaving the cities but I said it was worth it. Not tonight, it wasn’t.“

“My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner here in April 2024. I thought the menu was well done with lots of fun sounding options, some unique to the restaurant. The ambiance was reminiscent of a 1920's speakeasy in a subterranean space with a hip vibe. The waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was very good for bar food, but still bar food. All things said, I would recommend this place for casual dining.“

She had excellent timing - knew when to pop in for refills on drinks and waters and overall had a very positive attitude and vibe. We had the Burgers and fries for dinner, and they were amazing! The French Fries are addictive. The only bummer was the limited menu. Everything we had was great. We would have loved more food offerings. “This is one of our special occasion places! The food and ambience is always so great. If you have friends visiting from out of town, this is the place you want to take to impress them. We like the bar side, but went for a date night recently and ate on the dinner side. We had an impromptu four course meal that was curated by our server. We took out time and didn't feel rushed. Every server and staff seem to be in a good mood and polite, whether they are bringing you food, cleaning your table, or passing you on your way out. I definitely recommend going about an hour before sunset. PS the setting in the former monk's quarters is beautiful.“
