“We went to the Little Canada location for my birthday 🎂. Our server, Jenna, was great. She was very informative and patient. She made sure we always had water, checked just enough to make sure our expectations were met. Food, as usual, was amazing. Thanks to all for making our dinner great.“

I felt like we were tucked back into a secret part of the city, hiding away for a great bite to eat. The menu is limited which is perfect for me, but also means they have worked to one the dishes on it. We split a burger after having the brussle sprouts and poutine. This was an amazing combo and the portions were generous! I would come here again and again, not for just the food but the service as well. We had made a reservation for a later time, but got there earlier. They were able to get us sat in Lora’s section. Lora was truly amazing and made the dinner that much better. Here recommendations were amazing and she was just so kind. Great conversation and truly made the dinner the much better.“

His subtle cooking techniques results in extraordinary taste and texture that the unrefined tastebud may miss. Great food coupled with great service drove my family to stop here twice during our weekend trip to Minneapolis. Here are our must tries: Cheese Curd: Lightly battered and geniusly paired with thousand island dressing which breaks up the acidity of the cheese and brings out the rich creamy cheese flavor. Bologna Sandwich: Not from your childhood! This homemade recipe marries a blend of spices that makes your tastebuds dance. Lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside…assembled with homemade American cheese, a slice of crisp white onion on toasted white bread… the best I’ve had in my life! Chicken Gizzards: Technique, technique, technique. I can only wonder the effort and preparation on the front end that makes these gizzards so, so tender. Lightly battered and minimal frying time leave these gizzard with a “cut with a folk” and “melt in your mouth” texture that I have never experienced before.“

“This place is a solid dive bar that takes you right back to the '70s. It's not fancy, just good drinks at great prices. The place is super relaxed, and the crowd is friendly and laid-back. It’s in the heart of downtown. This bar is an adults type place, though—wouldn't recommend bring the kids. If you're looking for a no-frills spot to grab a drink and relax, this is it. We had a friend with who had open heart surgery and artificial knees. your toilets are not even standard height. more like a squatty potty. She had to rock to try to stand up, you have no safety bars or handicapped toilets!!!“

Their fried pickle chips are awesome, wings great even sauceless (got dipping sauces on side), walleye fries were great, the only thing we were so so on were the nachos. Fake cheese was blah but otherwise all good! Service excellent, drinks cold.“

“We came here with the promise of some great Coneys, and we were not disappointed. Yeah the place is a bit of a dive, but that definitely adds to the charm. The apps we had (fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks) were delicious, but those Coneys... OH MY GOD!!! Absolutely delicious! I had 2 but I could've easily downed 2 more. So good, and what was especially impressive that every one of the 5 total that we had looked exactly the same. The consistency of the cook is often overlooked at other places, but not here. Top notch! Also, our bartender Jade (sp?) was super friendly and always on top of anything we needed. Very funny too. A little bit of humorous commentary made for an even better experience.

As I said, the Coneys are to die for, but I would also recommend the Reuben egg roll. I got one after I was finished with the dogs, and it was absolutely amazing!

Gopher Bar is definitely the place to check out if you are a Coney Dog fan. And if you're not, there's plenty of other options to try that all looked incredible when I scanned the menu. Also, and this is yet another reason to choose The Gopher, the prices are very cheap. I wouldn't have expected to get full for under $20 anywhere these days, but they certainly did it! I'm actually getting hungry again just typing this! 😅

“My first time here. It’s a tiny little local bar. They keep their old tradition as cash only, which the bartender explained, even though card option would’ve been nice since the atm and my bank both will charge fees withdrawing cash. Found out the hard way, but you have the option to leave if you don’t like it , no one is forcing you stay. bartender is a nice guy and made me feel welcome.“

Slow night, which was much more my vibe. Very clean establishment on my visit. Definitely preferable to the 617 bar. Don't go there. Come here instead. WB Bar has more space, they have pool tables, AND the beautiful bartender is far more polite to those who are new and aren't looking to be treated like an out of towner when they are in fact more local than some of these other snobs! 🤓☮️“
