“If you are looking for a recently remodeled bar/restaurant and white tablecloths, this ain't your place.

However, if you're looking for a place that is quaint, plays Marvin Gaye and Tony Bennett, has real coney dogs that initially were perfected by Greek immigrants over 100 years ago in Detroit, and other amazing dishes the Gopher Bar MUST be on your bucket list. The food is scratch cooking and the quality shows. The prices are reasonable, however, don't think you'll be paying by credit/debit cards as cash is the only form of accepted payment. Every time I go I usually get the same thing Coney dogs, fries and a Coke.“

“Fun dive bar. The bartender was very nice and helpful. He obviously is very familiar with his regulars. For us that have never visited his bar before, he was sure to let us know up front this is a cash only establishment. It is nice to know so we do. It look like fools scrambling for a atm at the last minute.The beer selection is just right. They had plenty of offerings in several spectrums of beer. The liquor offerings are very plentiful for this level of bar.We will be back again and I hope to enjoy the Harbor Bar more often.“

“This was our first time here. We went to use the sports simulator bay and there were some issues. Dion came over and went above and beyond - not only fixing the bay, but putting us up in the other one until the one that was registering better was completely fixed. He then made sure we enjoyed ourselves and were not worried about the time limit nor the time wasted.

Dion was very pleasant, personable & very likable. Definitely would go back during a time he is working (weekends on the simulator side if you want to go and tip him at the bar ?)“

“We recently got married (October 2024) and Lake Elmo Inn catererd our wedding. It was absolutely AMAZING! We had the prime rib carving station and the walleye as well as the duck soup and salad. Our guests are still talking about the food. We decided to upgrade to the "LEI Experience" which means each of your guests get a warm hand towel, an intermezzo sorbet, and a chocolate covered strawberry!!! We were over the moon with the service on the night of the wedding and all our communication with LEI throughout the process. Special shoutout to Kayla G. who was the most patient, professional, and kind event manager! She answered every single one of my (many) questions and she did so with a smile! On the night of the wedding, we were SO impressed with how fast the servers were able to get to each of our guest tables and keep the flow going. It was seamless, seriously. We cannot recommend Lake Elmo Inn Catering enough. They've total pro's and just know that you'll be in good hands. “White Bear Bar gets a bad reputation because they try to keep order and riff raff out. This game is beyond difficult! I really like Angie the bartender and all the waitresses are gorgeous and offer good service even during adverse times and bad customers. Pool is always fun and trivia. No decent food but free popcorn n pizza but its a bar not a restaurant. Security is always really good and I've never seen any conflict not get resolved promptly. People whine about getting kicked out, these arw the people that cause issues and i appreciate this. Always has good beer.“

“Tonight, we listened to an Orchestra playing Final Fantasy music. It was an amazing experience. The staff were jovial, good natured, helpful and so much more. The drumsticks as a food item were simply divine. We were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary a little early and the venue was everything I could have dreamed for it.“

“Amazing service, informative wait staff, and an incredibly intimate environment! Their 3 course menu is put together beautifully. They have very delicious soups we tried the duck soup and the mushroom soup, both were delightfully tasty. They have the most divine lamb chops! All the food we had was flavorful and cooked to perfection. They make an amazing homemade ginger ale that has that perfect bite of ginger to it. The restaurant is small but cozy and there are wonderful views from the windows. Our waiter Bryant did an amazing job explaining the menu options and telling us about the off menu specials. They have a Sunday Date Night menu as well and I assure you that you won't be disappointed by anything you order. Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a place to have a romantic dinner!“

“My wife and I have been coming here 20 plus years and this was our 12 years for our annual Family Christmas party. Great place to eat and visit with family and friends. Best steak and sea food anywhere. Had our annual family Christmas party in there last night and we all had such a great time. Our waitress Aja is the best. She looks after your every need and is the friendliest waitress we have ever had dining out. This is the second year in a row we have had her. Aja helped make it a perfect night as did the staff. I special ordered king crab legs for my sons to go with their steak and they were perfect. Looking forward to additional visit at Porterhouse and hope to have Aja as a waitress again.“

“We went to the Dog House so my husband could participate in the dart tournament they have every Friday night (7:00 sign up, 8:00 start). We ate before hand. My husband had the Dog House burger and said it was good. I had the nachos with beef. They were OK. We are from Texas and our idea of nachos is very different. I should have known they weren't going to be the same. Anyway, during the tournament many people came up to say hi and introduce themselves as I'm guessing they are regulars to the tournament and we were new. They were all very friendly and helpful. The owner was very nice and so was the guy running the tournament. They are known for live music and the band was awesome. It was worth the $6 cover. I would have thought there would be more people there, but with the state fair going on and it still being summer, people have other things to do. I'm sure it is busier in the cooler months. We will definitely be going back.“

“Neumanns is just awesome. Decent food overall, really great burgers and fries. Staff is friendly. You might go in there and see and see 3 - 80 year old ladies chatting together and some 20 somethings at the bar and a total mix of ages in between. Has the feel of a biker bar, but friendly and welcoming. A true hometown bar.“

“Low key, laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Staff is friendly, though there are few staff. We have gone there numerous times. Pretty good food. This was our 1st time not ordering a pizza. Salad was good. Meatball sandwich was not bad but not great. We enjoy coming here. Older crowd with fun music, meat raffle and Bingo nights.
