“I'm so glad I found this establishment due to Restaurant Week - We already can't wait to return! We loved our food - the flavors were amazing! Staff was so friendly! Service was top notch! The birria was sooo tasty - and we loved the Mocktails! Best churros in town!“
“Fantastic, wonderful and delicious.Vegetarian options: The jackfruit arepa is amazing!Dietary restrictions: Very good gluten free menu.Parking: Parking is the ONLY issue. They have a very tiny Parking lot in front of the restaurant, lots of street parking.“
“I love that the menu is made up of both tapas-style options and full entree dishes from the Caribbean + also New Orleans- some of my favorite flavors! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful. Both the cocktails and NA drinks are fantastic, and the ambiance is a welcome addition to North Loop + the Twin Cities-- festive, fun, relaxing, good vibes.“
“We had to make some last minute changes and reach out to El Jefe to see if they could assist us with our grooms dinner. Everyone was amazing through the whole process and very accommodating. The food was incredible and served fast. Even with the 100 degree weather Miguel made sure we had a great time. Thank you El Jefe!“
“This is such a cute cafe with amazing food! Counter service with self serve water. The staff was very friendly and speedy with my food. I highly recommend the pork. It was soo tender it just fell apart. The seasoning was subtle with just the right amount of saltiness. The rice and beans were bland but were a good carb to soak up the juiciness of the pork. The sweet plantains were perfect in every way. They had beautifully crunchy bottoms from being fried. The arepa con queso was good. There is a sweetness with the butter and maybe in the corn masa itself. Its very dense and rich, i would recommend splitting with a friend if possible.“
“The food is very tasty and for the price is about right for the size of the dishes. The service is not as quick, but they will treat you the best they can. There is not a parking lot (or at least I didn't see it)so street park it is. Definitely worth to give it a chance and try a good Ecuadorian food/experience ?“
“Calling all tequila connoisseurs! Not enough vegetarian options--I think just one taco option as of today's date--but it's still a very good place. Tastes authentic. Cozy but city vibes. Bartender was good company. Tequila is also great to look at and taste.“
“Maria's was a fantastic little local spot to grab breakfast! Despite the front room being almost full, service was great and our food came quickly. We got Pablo's omelette, Penelope's plantain pancakes, and Maria's Colombian huevos pericos...and pan de queso, obvi. Everything was fantastic. We clearly had to take some of it to go. We'll be back!“

“We were visiting from VT for the World Cup and we so psyched to find this restaurant walking distance from where we were staying. It was so good that we came back the next night and got takeout for our last!! Best fish tacos I have ever had! Ecuadoran vegetable plate was delicious and the cauliflower soup was fabulous. We never had room for dessert but got the panne cotta to go and it was amazing!“
“It was my first time there and I loved it. We did a walk-in on Monday and had a wonderful experience from top to bottom! Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere is homey and unpretentious. The food was fantastic! Especially the Aguacate - I can’t stress this enough, get the Aguacate!!Drinks were good as well, plus they have Modelo on tap! Cannot wait to go back and sit on the patio this summer!“
“We went to dinner on a Friday night, it was easy to make a reservation and they had plenty of openings. My friend is very gluten free and the menu was very gluten free friendly without extra charges. Most of their meals are made with corn. The food was amazing. We all sampled everyone’s meals, the tacos were delicious and very filling. We shared chips with guacamole and yuca fries. They were amazing! Their margaritas were large and delicious. I will absolutely be back!“
“This is a fun and nice place to visit. They have lots of Ecuadorian baked goods, as well as a small menu to eat. There is limited seating, but it's nice if you want to grab some authentic Ecuadorian food or treats.Parking can be hit or miss, as it's all street parking along Central Ave. But, there are lots of other fun shops and restaurants nearby, so it's perfect if you can't find parking in front. The staff has always been very nice and accommodating every time we've visited the store. They also have other non-food items for sale, such as hats, shirts, and dolls, to name a few. It's definitely worth stopping by and tasting what they have to offer.“
“The tacos are amazing! I really enjoyed the shrimp one. The beef tacos were good it was dry and the chicken wasnt dry. The dessert was decent. The meat pie is good. Would recommend it again. I went during happy hours and it was a good price. But the food is amazing! Would recommend it. The service was good and the ambiance was nice.“

“This is a good authentic latina resturantIt serves food dishes that you would expect to find in northern S. AMERICA like Colombia ?? Ecuador?? and venezuela ?? area.I was very happy to eat food made with Plantain. The flavor of the foods, how its seasoned is like you would get the flavor at a local latina restaurant abroad. It is located in a decent part of Minneapolis, not downtown, but not a bad area to park at and walk. Not that all of this was on the menu but i am a fan of plantain dishes like patacónes, bolón de queso, tigrillo, platano frito ect and i am happy that I was able to order something made from plantain. The restaurant has nice booths with coat hangers on the side, the seat is comfortable. The music was nice, happy and goes perfect with the food and culture of what this resturant is representing.I was able to order a Maracuya drink that You don't find at a lot of latino restaurants. It's a good resturant; the kind of place that you can request something that may not be on the menu and they can figure out how to make it for you, if I plan to eat out again for this kind of food I will go back.Kid-friendliness: There is a section with kids menu.“
“I initially visited this place when it first opened, and my experience wasn't impressive enough to make me return. However, with the positive reviews accumulating over the years, I decided to give it another try. I'm pleased to say that this time around, I was very satisfied. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the wait staff was attentive. Although the dining room was loud during our visit at a peak time, I won't let that deter me from returning. I'll simply choose a different time for my next visit.“
