“Great food friendly staff“

“The food was excellent , hats off to the chef , this son and Mom were sitting next to us their chicken dinner looked fab, will be going back for that , my friend and I had burgers , onion rings and chips the rings were cooked perfectly. Prices for the food were fantastic , not expensive at all. Loved all the Hamm's Bear stuff, my dad retired from there . Great place keep up the good job!!“

“We came here with the promise of some great Coneys, and we were not disappointed. Yeah the place is a bit of a dive, but that definitely adds to the charm. The apps we had (fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks) were delicious, but those Coneys... OH MY GOD!!! Absolutely delicious! I had 2 but I could've easily downed 2 more. So good, and what was especially impressive that every one of the 5 total that we had looked exactly the same. The consistency of the cook is often overlooked at other places, but not here. Top notch! Also, our bartender Jade (sp?) was super friendly and always on top of anything we needed. Very funny too. A little bit of humorous commentary made for an even better experience.

As I said, the Coneys are to die for, but I would also recommend the Reuben egg roll. I got one after I was finished with the dogs, and it was absolutely amazing!

Gopher Bar is definitely the place to check out if you are a Coney Dog fan. And if you're not, there's plenty of other options to try that all looked incredible when I scanned the menu. Also, and this is yet another reason to choose The Gopher, the prices are very cheap. I wouldn't have expected to get full for under $20 anywhere these days, but they certainly did it! I'm actually getting hungry again just typing this! 😅

“Dog 🐶 Friendly Patio! Wing Wednesday was tasty 😋 Jaime catered to our dog Buddy and us. Wings were just as we ordered-Crispy/Saucy 🍗Live music was wonderful and took our requests 🎶🎤🎸We played bags, giant Jenga while Buddy the GSP was chilling in the shade. We will be back soon“

“A group of 11 on Friday evening at a lovely round table set a bit into a nook. The food and drinks were great, as was the service. It’s a visually lovely place. Unfortunately, the noise was so overwhelming, I left with a headache, and disappointed that I hadn’t been able to hear beyond each of the friends seated immediately next to me. I don’t routinely spend this much when I go out to eat, but am happy to when all the features align. Because of the noise, the Saint Paul Grill will not be a choice next time.“

“We had a table of 12 people at Red Rock Bar & Grill on Easter Sunday (3/31/24). The food was very good and we enjoyed having a private dining room for our family. Our servers ( Mimi and Aiden) were not only good at their jobs, but very likeable and engaging with our group. We had family from Eau Claire, WI, Spring Valley, WI, Somerset, WI, Wyoming, MN, Inver Grove Heights, Woodbury and Cottage Grove, MN in our group. “A classic Saint Paul neighborhood bar, with simple grub yet so affordable, a mix of Asian and American. All served as takeaway but you can eat it there if you want and the portions are gigantic. There's bingo two nights a week, a Friday afternoon meat raffle, and pulltabs/etabs. Locals are the majority of the clientele but for all its grittiness, it's a safe place with patrons who care about the establishment! Watch out for the parking lot. It's a dirt lot minefield of potholes that will destroy your transmission of you go faster than 1 mph.“

“I love this bar, I come in and spend money all the time. I buy drinks for people and always tip the bartenders and servers. Today I came in looking to conserve money because I’m getting hit with school loans. I ask the bartenders if I could just tip a dollar and hang out and he says no. I ask my buddy Dave if he can cover a soda but he’s tapped. So I oblige and go to my wallet and pull out a 5 to pay for a half order of fries. The bartender denies me service and accuses me of getting the money from bar partrons. This is MY money that I earned and here I am willing to spend it in order to follow their rules of no hanging out without spending money.

This man damn near lost me as a customer. I’ve spend hundreds of dollars at this establishment over the last few months.

I still think this is a great bar and the other staff are fantastic, the food is great and people are generally friendly( as friendly as Minnesota can be).

This bartender will never receive a tip From me again. Pissed off that I’ve tipped him in the past.
I just played pull tabs since he literally denied me service.
