“Amazing! We stopped here for our first time for pre-event drinks with our friends. We anticipated having one cocktail and being on our way, but were instead treated to something more akin to an experience! The GM greeted us and took our order and made sure we got to try more than just our drinks. A whole story about finding someone to re-tie my husband’s bow tie turned into a hilarious challenge for most of the staff. Even to the point that the assistant GM was going to drive to Von Maur while we finished our drinks (we declined..but wow). What kind of place does this!? Our cocktails were amazing, the charcuterie plate was delicious (the jam, honey, and cheese…just wow). But most of all, the staff made everything so memorable. We’ve never experienced anything like this! We will be back soon for a full dinner. Thank you for making our night so enjoyable!“

“I wanted to take a moment to shout out an amazing restuarant located in minneapolis called Nolos Kitchen & Bar! As most of you know by now my girls and I had planned to fly out to california for my bachelorette party and winded up with a cancelled flight first thing in the morning at 4am thanks to microsoft. after we arrived to the airport and stood in line for 4 hours we were told that the next flight wasn’t available for another 24hours at 6 am the next day. We decided to go get breakfast while we figured out our next move and what we were supposed to do for the next 24 hours. We arrived to Nolos in pretty low spirits but that was quickly turned around when we met our waitress. Not only was the food PHENOMENAL, but they went as far as to make us my favorite cocktail (which wasn’t even on the menu!) As we sat and enjoyed our breakfast we talked about where we should go/what we should do/ and about how tired we were because we were only running on a couple of hours of sleep. We were at the point of even contemplating piling back into the car to take a nap when our sweetheart of a waitress approached us and informed us that they had a basement bar that didn’t open until 5 pm that night. She proceeded to tell us that since the basement bar didn’t open till later the owner offered us their full basement as a safe haven for the day for us to get some sleep/ hang out in until we were ready for our next move. The basement had a lounge room for all my girls to pile in and get a few hours of sleep as well as whenever we wanted a drink or snack we could go right up stairs and order as needed. AS WELL as it was fully stocked with arcade games and a photo booth to keep us occupied.Ontop of everything they even covered 50% of our food and drink tabs😭 Nolo’s genuinely saved us that day- and i could never be more thankful that we walked into that restaurant that morning. We were met with nothing but kindess and generosity. If you want to go somewhere with kind people , AMAZING food, fun cocktails , and overall an amazing atmosphere I would HIGHLY reccomend Nolos Kitchen & Bar in minneapolis. I promise you won’t be dissapointed ! Thank you NOLO's Kitchen staff for going above and beyond !!!!“

“The other week, I was in the northern metro suburbs and started to get hungry. I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good).\n\nThat said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food.\n\nA friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef.\n\nI chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT.\n\nAs it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time.\n\nThat kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. Plus, I promised to return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.“

We have had the pleasure of having Riley and Iza as our servers on many occasions and I can’t stress how kind and accommodating both of them are, I have celiac disease and they are knowledgeable about the ingredients and the process of the food so that I am safe when eating there. Including the double checking and making sure that my food is gluten free, and with very limited chance of cross contamination. Both do a great job of making sure the food is good and arrives at an appropriate time, while being friendly and kind and connecting with us as patrons. I would recommend pub 42 to anyone and everyone and tell them to request being seated in either Riley or Iza’s section to guarantee them the best of service available.“

“Always a top food choice at mn state fair and worth the 5 to 10 minute wait in line!
Ive been getting this corn on a cob ladt 40 plus years and so greatful for tjus option at the fair.
Only thing I can think of for improvement is to offer outside the fair and in winter months/not just late summer“

“Located in a beautiful space on the first floor of the IDS Center. I stopped in for a happy hour and I'm so glad I did.

Happy hour aside, I would come back just for their hummus (and a beer). I generally don't care for hummus but this was noteworthy.

Their smash burger was my ideal burger. It was simple but with classy ingredients.

I definitely recommend sitting at the bar, they have a frost rail that keeps your drinks ice cold. Maybe it was that rail, but even their water tasted especially great.“

“I was in town at an educational event and a friend recommended we meet here for dinner. Well it was so close to my hotel that and the menu looked amazing so I went for breakfast after landing. I am sad I only had time to eat here twice. Breakfast I sat alone at the bar and there was live music - so great. The bartender Ness gave me great recommendations and I’ve never had a better breakfast in my life. Huevos Rancheros, Virgin Bloody Mary, and a side Lemon Ricotta pancake (thanks Ness, I DEF needed to try it) Dinner time I was still full from breakfast (even though I couldn’t eat it all - portions were great) so our server Adam helped me decide which dessert I would have. The caramel pecan roll was out of this world! The atmosphere was top notch, love that it’s employee owned and just had such a great, uplifting and cool vibe. I told my daughter this morning that if I ever came across a dirt cheap flight to Minneapolis- I’d go JUST to eat here again. Flawless….“

“It has been a while since coming here under the new Ownership. I am glad I chose to reinvestgate. I ordered the Sothern fried steak, which came with hash browns and toast with coffee and water. The steak and gravy was one of the best I have ever had. The hash browns were good yet could have been browned a little more. The coffee was rich and did the job. Our Server was prompt and tentative. Great attitude. The price was an expected value, especially with the Senior discount. I am already planning a return trip to try some of their South American cuisine. I recommend giving this quiet place a try.“

“I was staying in the University of Minnesota and this place was a life saver when I did not want to eat in the dining hall. Their falafel sandwich was genuinely some of the best falafel I have ever had and their fries were undoubtedly the best fries I have ever had. The service was super quick and we got our food in under 10 minutes consistently. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant had a great atmosphere to it. Would strongly recommend if you are in the area!“

“Had a really nice late Saturday lunch on the patio overlooking the river and Mill City ruins. We were served quickly and attentively. The pulled pork sandwich was very tasty and the side salad was fresh. The Curry Bowl was good too. Nice atmosphere. Spotted four or so different wedding parties doing pics. We took it as good luck because it was our wedding anniversary. If they could just not have street parking in front of the patio so the river view was nicer.“

“Our dinner at Nordic Village exceeded our expectations. For the price, I figured this would be a one time splurge as a gift to my wife. I was so blown away by the food, ambiance, and service, however, that I could be easily persuaded to make this an annual outing. Four Seasons is really on to something with this seasonal offering.

We were there for dinner on Christmas and the food was phenomenal! Every single dish, every sauce, and every flavor was well thought out and exceptionally balanced. I loved that nearly every dish was a new experience for both of us. I could not pick out a favorite but the highlights were the first Smorgasbord , the Dopp I Gryta, the Mains and the Dessert. ;). Yes, everything was a highlight.

Venison tartar - yum!
Venison stew - OMG!
And that cake!!!

Not only was the food outstanding but there was plenty of it. I started getting full after just the smorgasbord but powered through to eat everything served.

The ambiance was very cozy and well thought out. It definitely gets you in the holiday mood.

This review would not be complete without a shout-out to our server, Maria. She was perfect. Somehow she always knew exactly when we needed another drink and when we were ready for the next course. We never felt like we were waiting and we never felt like we were rushed. She was so friendly without being overbearing. Again, she was perfect and we thank her (and the hostess, chefs, etc) for working on Christmas so we could have such a special experience.“
