“I've lived in St. Louis for a little over 20 years and I've heard about the Capital Grill but never visited before. I decided for my birthday this year, we'd try it. I even offered to split the cost with my wife since I had heard it was expensive. Well, it was expensive, but sometimes you absolutely get what you pay for - I was blown away. We started with a giant piece of bacon as an appetizer (Nueske's Cherrywood Smoked Bacon with Korean BBQ). It was about 1/2 in thick cut into bite sized chunks and it was delicious! We moved on to soup, my wife had the french onion soup with was covered with a thick layer of cheese, I had the lobster bisque, and my daughter had the butternut squash bisque - all three were good. The lobster in my bisque was tender and flavorful. I had the 14oz KC strip, my daughter had the 10oz filet, and my wife had the roasted chicken breast. My daughter's filet was easily 12oz and it was cooked perfectly, my KC strip was cooked perfectly and very flavorful, and my wife's chicken was huge (and delicious since I ate her leftovers the next day for lunch). We ordered creamed spinach and parmesan truffle fries for the table. The sides were good but not as good as the other items. Next time (and we will be back) we will probably go with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. We split the cream brulee and the flourless chocolate espresso cake for desert and because it was my birthday they brought me a sample of the cheesecake and coconut cream pie on a plate with Happy Birthday written out in icing. I'll definitely get the cream brulee again, it was perfect and my wife and daughter loved the cake. Sometimes you just gotta splurge and when you get that urge - try the Capital Grill, you won't regret it. (And by the way, my wife ended up picking up the check - so maybe it was that expensive.)“

The only thing that was lacking was our waitress seemed a little put off being there. She was timely and attentive, but really not very friendly. This has not been the case on any other visit to your restaurant.“

My friend had the Friday Special (catfish, shrimp, and wings) while I chose the Thursday special of wings and shrimp. Both dishes were perfectly executed, tasty, and not at all oily. 10/10. “This review is for the bakery ONLY. Everytime we go to St. Louis, we stop here (We live at the Lake of the Ozarks). The mini custard pies are amazing, try the fried, sesame seed balls which are filled with two different kinds of bean custard, both are delicious.
The yeast buns are stuffed with a variety of sweets and cheeses and are killer. On the right side of the shop as you enter, there are usually a few versions of the Dim Sum they serve next door in the restaurant and they are all DELICIOUS!

I've purchased the Duck & the deep fried pork hanging in the window, several times & it's been legit. We buy half a duck because there's only 3 of us, but plenty. I always order a small order of their rice so we can eat our duck at the hotel.
It can be VERY crowded on the weekends, so come as soon as they open. There's usually only the one lady working the register and dude chopping up the duck & pork, but they're fast. A++++ It's not cheap but it's soooo worth it.“

“Lu Lu still my favorite Chinese restaurant when I need to treat my friends for authentic traditional Chinese dinner. We were there on 09-22 Sunday evening, three of us ordered beef chow fun, sweet and sour sole fish, cashew chicken, black pepper beef hot plate. The chef cooked them together and server brought them out at the same time. Lady who served us was very friendly, she even offered to pack the leftover for us so my friends and I could engaged in conversation end of the meal. We love the food, the service and the atmosphere. “I was a bit skeptical about making a purchase because their parking lot is always empty. But I said let's chance it and upon placing order and waiting the customers started to arrive. It seems as though everyone placed their order and left, so that would explain the empty parking lot. Conversated with someone I knew from the local roller skating rink and order was completed in a timely manner, say 20 minutes. I ordered the catfish & wing platter, which was surprisingly tasteful, I liked the wings the best, (seasoned well) while the catfish seemed more like tilapia but overall the meal was satisfying and came with bread, fries, pickles and onions. Overall I believe that I will make a return visit just to try out different menu items because it's close to home. I also liked the fact that it was clean and roomy.“
