“Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“

“We love Torchy’s! We have been to many Torchy’s Tacos in different states but the KC location is our favorite! The food is always amazing. We drive up from Springfield about once a month to shop and eat at Torchy’s! The employees and management are always so friendly! Highly recommend!“

“🚨GUACAMOLE CHANGE! We’ve been coming to Ponaks for 30 years. The guacamole has aways been one of our favorites. Today we ordered it and immediately noticed something was different. We asked the server and he confirmed that they have changed their recipe, and it’s for the worst. They’ve added “filler” by putting pico and other ingredients into it. It’s not even close to what it was. I hope they don’t start changing their food and Margaritas!!! There is a reason people keep coming back year after year! Please dont mess with perfection Ponaks!“

“I went to Senor Tequila yesterday with a good friend of mine. The food was very yummy and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere was very cool. “We skipped the food as we stopped in during the taco festival, but holy awesome service Batman! Victoria (maybe Veronica?) and Brie were awesome bartenders. Very fun and personable. Kept us in margaritas 🍹 and were an absolute joy! Looking forward to going back.

“Tatema is a little hole in the wall restaurant, but let me tell you, their food is incredible! I am generally a person who doesn't like mexican food (at least the american version of it), however when I got tacos here for the first time, they were truly life changing. I have yet to branch out to any other food item, but their tacos alone are absolutely delicious! I would highly highly recommend you go there! I have introduced a handful of my family members to Tatema and they instantly loved it! The staff is also very friendly and it's a great place!“

“Been coming here for the past 40 years. My Mom celebrated her birthday this evening and it was the just the BEST. We had enchiladas (the sauce is so unique and dark - just wonderful), tacos, flautas, rice, the trio of dips. If you are in KC, give it a try!!!“

“I really like this place and the fact they have a drive-thru. I am generously offering 4 stars though, It's far too expensive for what you get in my opinion. The employee who took my order at the store was very busy but seemed like he didn't care to answer my questions and just wanted me to be done ordering. I heard the car in front of me order guava juice, which I didn't see on the menu even. Their menu is honestly really large and complicated, which, is good? But I'm not sure, considering it's trying to be fast food chain, which I didn't realize there are atleast 10-15 locations in the metro. This means it might be too complex when you have low-quality employees who are just trying to work, not caring about providing excellent service. It's disappointing the menu isn't thorough of what they have either. The food was completed very quickly.

I like that the food seems to be almost somewhat restaurant quality, with the fast food aspect to it. Once again it's too expensive still. I ordered two burritos, cowboy fries, and a pineapple juice. It cost me $47. That is insane to me. Also the burritos were large but not extra large and came with nothing else, I am assuming they were around $10-12 each. Hard to say since their menu is so complex, the items advertised on the windows I don't even find the burritos I ordered with pricing nor does it pop up on a screen, so you dont know any information until the cashier just says your total. When I go out to eat, I would much rather have smaller portions anyway, and get to try more new foods, and if I want more of something just be able to order more, instead of no choice but getting a large portion and a large price. As was the case with the cowboy fries, $14 for them and it was a pretty significant amount of food, that I also didn't really realize I was ordering, aside from the price... I would've liked a half or third order of what they gave me and at half or third of the price. They were pretty. Good but for me 4 stars. I also got cheeto burrito 4 stars.

The Diablo burrito though, ill give 5 stars, I really enjoyed it, the asada was delicious, whatever sauce was on it was great, but it wasnt really spicy at all, which is so weird when its the Diablo burrito... the cowboy fries were much spicier having jalapeno on top, so was their red and green sauce packets they include very spicy, 3stars on the sauce packets tho didnt care for em. Dont seem to be house made. Sealed plastic packets.

Pineapple juice was 5-stars too. Delicious. Overall really enjoy this place. But the prices are just too high, and the menu is hard to order.“

“This place is amazing. The birria burrito is delicious. There is something for everyone, including my extremely picky eater (chicken nuggets and fries). The music had us dancing in our seats, well it was partly the music and partly good food happy wiggles. My family of 5 ate for under $100 and we all took leftovers home. Totally worth it. Support this local restaurant because you'll be adding it to your favorites after the first stop in. Also, there's a drive thru for convenience if you're eating on the go.“

“Stopped into this gem for lunch and grabbed a carryout order. I ordered inside at the counter and the woman behind the counter was helpful and kind, answered any question I had. I waited about 7 minutes for my carryout order, 3 asada tacos, add onion, with a habanero salsa. This place is fantastic. The tacos were 12/10, delicious. From staff, to seating, all the way to the food, everything was great. I will be coming back!“

“The enchilada con queso is next level. You have to get three but it’s worth it. Queso dip with chorizo is really good. Ribeye tacos slap HARD. Overall it’s worth it, flans a crazy goer as well.

“Red Bridge is my favorite Barrio but Brookside is close second mainly because of limited space. Service and food has always been spot on which keeps me coming back! I've brought friends and they agree.“

Reasonable prices and solid customer service. Recommend making it a stop if you’re bar hopping and want so good eats.“

“I love their menudo!!! If you want a delicious and flavorful menudo buy them from this place. It doesn't have that stinky smell when you eat it. Some places don't know how to clean and cook it well. I also got lime ice cream and it's so flavorful!!! The only thing that a lot of people didn't like is that there are big flies all over. I know it's everywhere but maybe they can do something about it. But other than that everything is awesome. I'm going back to this place again“
