“I wish I could give you a detailed breakdown of everything I ordered… but whatever it was must have been so good that my brain just filed it under “delicious” and moved on.

I remember enjoying every bite, feeling very satisfied, and thinking, “Yep, I’d come back here again.” Beyond that? Complete mystery. It’s like I accidentally ordered the “surprise me” option and it worked out beautifully.

The place itself was clean, the service was quick, and the whole experience was easy and enjoyable. No complaints—just apparently a very forgettable (in the most positive way?) memory of food that hit the spot.

All I know is I left happy, full, and already planning to come back… hopefully next time with better recall skills.“

“I recently tried this place out with my husband on a Saturday evening...we got seated right away...nice clean environment a little strange for a Mexican restaurant felt more like a bar lol but other than that we had an excellent server Andrew... very nice and attentive. ..Food was delicious!.. I got the chicken fajitas. .hubby got the pastor burrito. ..and also we shared the tres lechs cake for dessert...all in all I give our experience a 4 out of 5...we will definitely be back !“

“My husband and I came in from out of state and he made a reservation for us at Piropos, everything from our contact with the hostess to our departure from the restaurant was personable and the atmosphere was perfect for our date night the food was delicious and our waitress, Catherine, was extremely attentive and kind, as I’m in a wheelchair, making our visit one of the best nights we had on our 5 day stay in Kansas City! I would recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a classy atmosphere with the best waitstaff and food we’ve ever experienced!“

“The food was delicious, but I really wanted to make a point to leave a review about our server. From the very beginning, Tayla was attentive and kind. She made sure to give great descriptions of the food, but the real icing on the cake was how much she went above and beyond. We brought in a cake from the bakery, and the host offered to keep it in the fridge for us. Tayla brought out the cake for us to take pictures and sing happy birthday, and then took it to the back to cut it. The cake was butterfly themed, and she cut out my mom's piece to look like a butterfly. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough, but highly recommend asking for Tayla.“

“SMAXX is the place to be! Especially on Wednesday’s for $1 whole wings. My husband has tried many other food items and likes it! 🔥phillies and burgers too! “We stopped by here before seeing a show at The Music Hall. It was great because it was within walking distance and we could make a reservation. I have been to the Drum Room countless times and had no idea about the restaurant in the hotel! We decided to split the grilled peach salad, the fried goat cheese salad and a side of fries. These salads were so good! I feel like you don't often hear people rave about salads after visiting a restaurant but these were both great. I would totally order them again. Our waitress was super nice and even let us know right when we sat down that they were short staffed and that she was also helping with room service. I always appreciate when staff is up front about situations like that because it helps customers understand and manage expectations. Our drinks were rather strong and we both had a hard time finishing them, but overall we had a good experience!“

“Service was amazing. Drinks fabulous and so really was everything else just for the price we had wanted perfect steaks. Now, they were perfect on beef quality one was just a bit cooked to much. We ate it we paid for it still worth eating so, not a complaint just a point and why I didn't do 5 stars. Still would recommend as everything was really worth the journey and beef quality was amazing and the steak wasn't seasoned with anything but beef so we were over the moon.“

They cook the pork differently, giving the rice a altogether improved flavor. I went basic with the chicken wings and they are to die for. This place is a hidden gem.“
