“Visiting KC from out of town and we are always on the lookout for restaurants where my kiddo with alpha gal syndrome can eat safely. Treehugger is a winner! The food was great, and it’s super family friendly. The lady who worked the register was so friendly. Really great place!“

“In August 2021, Hamburger Mary's Kansas City reported that the establishment would require proof of COVID-19 vaccination. I assumed the requirement had been lifted; however, I wanted to be sure I was prepared (I am vaccinated; my friend is not). Not to mention, I work in an academic/healthcare setting where masks & vaccination status are a daily consideration, so it's something still on my mind. Therefore, I sent Hamburger Mary's a very quick question via Facebook. Attached is a photo of the response I received. My question was in no way impolite, so I'm not sure why the business felt the need to say anything other than no. I'm not easily offended, but I also don't appreciate being spoken to in such a snarky manner for what I considered a perfectly reasonable & respectful question. I was really looking forward to visiting (and donating to a worthy cause!), but I have decided to celebrate my birthday elsewhere.“

“I hadn't ordered here in years, couldn't believe how cheap it is. Back in the day, this would've been more expensive than fast food and now theyve swapped. Had a winstead's burger with cheese and a large milk shake and I'm pretty sure my bill was around $10.
The burger had A LOT of raw onion but could easily be picked off. Only thing I wasnt too pleased with is they were cramming all the guests into one long section and so all tables had people filling them. I was alone so no one to talk to, I got to listen to a girl at the table next to me go on and on about religion and it felt uncomfortable.“

(3) overall prices aren’t too bad

Cons:
(1) soda refills cost the full price of the drink ($3.50 ish)
(2) Burger patties were tough and flavorless
(3) Large fries were sorta small for the price
(4) Fries and onion rings weren’t all that flavorful
(5) Our train delivery was missing one sandwich so we had to have someone go up to the counter to get the missing item“

“Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Our group of 14 arrived here today at the Shawnee location for lunch. We were met by friendly staff and seated right away. Once we ordered our food, it arrived quickly! We were impressed! All 14 orders were correct, served hot and fresh, and so good!! Great size portions! The service was absolutely great! Refills were quick. The atmosphere is so fun! We all enjoyed our food arriving by train. The kids had a great time. and only 2 little ones had a nugget and few fries left. Everyone devoured their food. It's definitely a must experience! We will definitely be back! ☆☆☆☆☆“

Food was delicious and seasoned well. We got a double cheeseburger combo with fries, and an italian sausage kahuna. Spent about 35 before the tip.

“The Lunch Box is a bodega with fast, friendly service and good food. I was there at lunch time and ordered onion rings and turkey club sandwich. The onion rings were homemade and would have been excellent but they were over-fried and tasted a bit burnt. The turkey club was excellent with lots of smoked turkey covered in bacon and cheese, served on toast with mayo, lettece and tomato. I will be back!“

“The orange and white makes me hungry, but I’ve learned to be patient when I choose this Whataburger. This location is open 24 hours, which is rare in the area and something I really appreciate. The fries are great, and the spicy ketchup is a perfect match for them. They make wonderful shakes, and it’s one of the few places where you can still find a real malt. I’ve also enjoyed their biscuits and other breakfast items, which are surprisingly good. The burgers are delicious and satisfying, though sometimes they feel like a slightly better version of Sonic rather than something special. What really holds this location back is the speed and communication. Orders often take an incredibly long time to complete, and it’s not well communicated. Going through the drive-thru often ends with being asked to park somewhere and waiting far longer than at other similar spots. Even so, there are things that truly stand out about Whataburger, and I’m glad to have one in the area. It’s a great place for late-night meals and hearty burgers, but the slow service keeps it off my regular list most of the time.“

“My wife and I stopped in for the first time in a few years. We were seated after a bit of a wait. It is after all a Friday night in a shopping district. Our server was bright and cheery. She had a warming smile and happy persona. we placed our drink order. Shortly thereafter our food order was taken. I ordered a flat iron steak and a baker. My wife ordered soup and salad. Our dinner was served fairly quickly. Unfortunately my steak was quite a bit overcooked, so I requested one that wasn't over done. When the replacement steak was delivered, it was a bit overdone as well. I was hungry so I kept it. The manager came by to talk to us. I've spent time in a kitchen or two and I understand a dinner rush. The manager stopped at our table and wanted to assure us that this was not acceptable. She made things right, but wasn't needed or expected. I felt bad for our server because she probably feared she wasn't going to get tipped for a fairly big check. She was pretty wrong. I tipped correctly and arguably better than normal. Our return visit ended up being a great experience. We met a couple of wonderful human beings. Had some pretty good food. And, of course, my wife and I got to connect.“

“The food was great but I wouldn’t come here on an evening of you want good service. My husband and I did a tasting tour near by and wanted something to eat before we headed back to the Air BnB. Immediately you could tell how the experience was going to be when we didn’t order drinks right away and didn’t see our server again for about 15 minutes. She was very obviously more interested in paying more attention to customers that ordered drinks right away. She didn’t give her name otherwise I would I mention here. We only got one water and she didn’t come back to us again. We went to go to the hostess to try to pay our bill, ended up stopping her as she was leaving the bar. I give 2 stars out of 5. That’s only because the food was really good. I don’t think I would come back here. Maybe during the day would be better but I don’t know if I’d come here again anyway.“

It feels good to spend less money on lunch than I normally do on food that is 10x more healthy. Tacos were good size, seasoning was great and my flavored water actually had flavor. All this for $13. “One of, if not the, best bar in KC. Spent almost an entire 8 hours with some friends out in their patio and it was a really amazing experience. I've gone many times now since I live so close, and my boyfriend swears that their burger has overtaken town topic for best burger in kc, while I think it's a close second. The service is amazing, the patio is gorgeous and so is the inside, the drinks are amazing, and so is the food. The 70s theme is perfect for me and my bf as well, since we are lovers of all things 70s. All around a truly incredible bar, I would definitely recommend!“

“Ordered this from uber eats. OMG!!!!! Everything was soooo good! Huge portions! Cooked to perfection! Idk where the photos that are on here from before came from but please disregard that other ones because this was perfect! I am a huge critic and I honestly thought I was going to be disappointed because I looked at the gogole review photos after I placed my order....and I am absolutely impressed. The quality and value here are unmatched. A certain burrito bowl and kids choice taco meal with chips and guac and a large queso cost the same to deliver as two catfish combos, a chicken strip combo and three drinks a shake and a chicken leg and mashed potatoes and gravy. The okra covered the entire bottom of the container, my daughter's chicken strip side, cheese fries came in it's own container and it was FULL. It took the driver 17 minutes to get here and the fish was still hot and the breading was still crispy e to enjoy. They didn't forget the sauces either! Also, they have strawberry Fanta.... bonus points. Again. I can't say enough. You have got to try this place.“

A vibe that will make you feel almost at home. Alicia was my bar tender, as she was for many others. I want to give her recognition for her outstanding customer service and attention to detail.
