50 Best Vegan Restaurants near Saint Charles

“I absolutely adore this place, and I’m completely shocked something like this exists in the St. Louis area! I had the vegan croissant and it was extremely delicious, very close to the vegan croissants I’ve had in France. I also got the cheesecake and it was absolutely amazing. It didn’t have any of the weird flavors some vegan cheesecakes have, and probably tasted closer to dairy cheesecake. I also had some macarons, but they seemed like they were a little older. There weren’t many in the case during my visit, and I saw a photo from someone else a few days after my visit that showed a full case, so I could only surmise they were less fresh. The flavors were good, but they were a little hard. Overall, this place is clearly a winner. The outside and the inside are decorated in such a nice and beautiful way. When I lived in St. Louis a short time about 20 years ago, I would’ve never imagined a place like this could have existed in the area. I can’t wait to stop by again next time I find myself in the St. Louis area.  Updated from previous review on 2026-05-12“

“Had resv for 4:00 on a Sat, got there at 3:25 asked to sit at table to get drinks, told we could, then someone else said no since r resv wasn’t until 4:00. Said we could sit at bar but all tables in bar were taken! Freezing cold inside, put 7 of us at a table that would hold 10-12 people had to scoot down to other end to try and get warm. Food finally arrived way later than those around us! No one in the rest. hardly but we couldn’t sit at a table till 4:00. Not very friendly about it! Food not impressed with! Will not go back, done!“

“This is the best restaurant! It’s very small inside and not fancy, I’ve always gotten my chicken korma and Naan to go. I found this hidden gem about 3 years ago, the ultimate comfort food that is rich and savory. The people who work there are so kind and I was more than happy to support their restaurant through Covid! And now I want to order some food, lol.“

Always good food and service, can be a little wait sometimes for food and wish there were more gluten free and soy free options(reason for 4 stars for food) but overall it’s nice to go, lots of overall options for vegan food. You won’t be disappointed.

They’re slowly growing and adding more options when it comes to food, drinks, their house made vegan ranch is good also which I believe they still sell by the bottle but you’ll have to confirm with them.

“First time visit today (12apr2024), out of state visitors for the day (IL), happen to be in the area. Ordered togo: Chicken Shawarma plate Beef Kafka plate Chicken Shawarma Sandwich Humus with Chicken Shawarma 4 extra peta and 2 garlic sauce While waiting, the place had a nice feel, music, etc. After a small amount of time we were offered Coffee. To those that dont know with these style of coffee it can be bitter to the normal pallet. This is a mix of coffee and tea I believe was told at this location. My SO, which was their first time trying this, is not a fan. Having tried some out of state (MI) before, it was little better than I have have in the past. VERY Hot in temp, so you will want to let cool some. The ChkShawm sandwich was good, SO didnt like as much but I enjoyed it. We both enjoyed the rest of the order, so much that my SO over eat some and was hurting. It was tempting to do the same. The Chicken was very good and juicy, not dried out like once place we tried few months ago. Rice was very good, the one plate's rice might have needed just a bit more cook time as a very small amount was still a bit al dente. Glad we ordered the extra garlic sauce as it didnt come with any of the other plates. I didnt look or ask if that was normal, some places do, others dont and we end up emptying out any garlic sauce we get anyways from places like these.We always order extra garlic and petas. We dont get over to this area much and next chance may be in 6 month or a year from now but will have this marked s a fav to revisit when in the area again! Totally plan to order from here again without a doubt!“

“we came to this space for a rehearsal dinner and it did not disappoint! The staff was great, the space is super charming, classy, and clean and the food was delicious! we had chicken parm, chicken marsala, veggies, rolls, and mashed potatoes all of which were absolutely amazing! I would recommend this space for a rehearsal dinner if you have a party near 30-40 people!“

“I go to the Shack at least once a month. I was there recently and received excellent food and service. Jennifer was great server, nothing was too much trouble. She helped move all of our coats and bags in order to change our seats. She was cheerful and helpful. I bring my out-of-town guests here often. The menu includes healthy,creative, delicious entrees, and as well as gluten free options.“

“We love Sushi and Wasabi Sushi Bar did not disappoint. We didn't know until we finished ordering, but we ordered all three of the special Flaming Plate rolls. And the presentation was great. While there is still some disagreement on which was best, it is unanimous that they are all good. With indoor and outdoor seating and amazing service this is a great spot to satisfy the Sushi fix.“

“Met up with a friend today at one of my favorite brunch spots, First Watch. We went to the one located on Streets of St. Charles. Their fresh food, juices, and eclectic menu makes it so you can always try something new. They have specialties each month, and I suggest you go before the end of February and try their barbacoa chilaquiles breakfast bowl!! Today I had the morning meditation juice and the barbacoa chilaquiles breakfast bowl. The breakfast bowl was a party in my mouth! The braised beef barbacoa mixed with the eggs, beans, and other seasonings. My friend opted for the Italian Inspired omelet. You can put a reservation in online prior to arrival on busy days (like Saturday). The wait was not long this morning, and the food makes the wait worth it. One thing I like about Fresh Watch is the continuity across the chain in that regardless of which restaurant you choose the food is always good and fresh. Great service. Stop in and check them out…try something new!“

“I had the best experience ordering 4/1/26.
I ordered a gluten free calzone on DoorDash and added steak to it. They called me and said hey just letting you know the steak marinade has soy and we wanted to make sure that’s okay. I told them it was not and I asked if they had another protein, they did and I added that and all is well“

“We had our son and daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at Mellow Mushroom and boy, did we choose a great place! They had us all set up for 25 people beautifully when we arrived and was quickly introduced to our amazing server, Katie. Between her and her crew of helpers (for lack of a better word), we were taken care of so well. Tara, the bartender also tended to us with quick and excellent service. The general manager Ahmad checked on us several times to be sure we were happy and everyone was taken care of. Food and drinks were quickly and deliciously served and enjoyed. The atmosphere is so fun and upbeat. I don’t think we had one problem (except us being 7 minutes late - so sorry about that!!). Total for the Order was $41.72 Charged to VISA Debit Card Ending In (4360) I recently moved away to Iowa in the past 1 year so anytime I come into town in Saint Charles to see my parents which is often I always get Salt N Smoke in Saint Charles, MO I wish I could get it from Delmar if it was closer because I have never had a bad experience at that location ever, however Saint Charles is a different story. When I got to my parents I noticed all of the food was cold, not even slightly warm, I was really confused on how that was possible because I arrived at Salt N Smoke in Saint Charles before my order was finished. I ended up warming up both dinners because I did not want to waste food but still could not get myself to finish the meal mainly because there was something very wrong with the chicken almost like it was spoiled, my girlfriend was trying to be polite and ate everything to her regret, 1 day later she told me she had the worse stomach pain she has ever felt and it was so bad where we had to rush her to the E.R Hospital at Great River Health Center in Fort Madison, IA where we currently reside. After waiting 2 hours, doing blood tests and urine samples the doctor came to the conclusion that my girlfriend had gotten "Gastritis" which is a bad stomach inflammation which the doctor recommended it was caused from the poultry at the BBQ place she ate which was Salt N Smoke on Saint Charles... Tried to write them via Email no response, they will be hearing from my attorney.“
