“Betty's Cafe is a shining example of how a smaller family owned restaurant can not only survive, but also thrive. That's not a status that is easily earned in today's seemingly unstable economy, and with the potential ripple effects of post Covid, that have taken the breath and life out of countless small businesses, not to mention a fair amount of larger well known entities. One visit to this little down home Eatery will speak for itself. The service is usually very prompt, and flavored with a friendly smile. All of their culinary offerings are prepared and served with a genuine effort and desire to give the customer an honest home style meal that is delicious, and looks like it came straight from your mom's or grandma's kitchen. The prices are a decent enough value, that won't break the bank. They have figured out the secret, which isn't really a secret, and that is to treat folks like family and friends, and to give them a plate of honest home style goodness, that echos the feeling and flavor of home. This cozy and quaint little Cafe has been serving up tasty comfort for now on 36 years, and they show no signs of slowing down. A big ?YUMS UP? for Betty's Cafe, destined to be a Saint Joseph landmark and legend.“
“This store is really the best coffee shop in town. The owner is so incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about everything she sells. They have tons of not only great tasting drinks but a bunch of really tasty pastries in quite a few flavors too. Breakfast here has become a routine I look forward to! Do yourself a favor and try the lemonades if you aren’t a coffee person! They are also super yummy and refreshing. All in all I’m glad toe beans is here and I hope they stay for a long time.Vegetarian options: They have a good selection of fruit pastries and I love them!Parking: There are parking spots lining the streets and it half a block from a free parking garage as well.Kid-friendliness: They have some really cute little stools for kids to sit and play on as well as a bunch of kids stuffed animals and toys to keep them busyWheelchair accessibility: There is a flat entrance here and ramps on either side of the block,“
“Oh my word!! I am originally from Los Angeles, living in Kansas City now. We came to St Joseph's to just visit. Going back to my "oh my word" comment. I just had the best pumpkin bar ever. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. They did not skimp on the bacon.“
“Everything is made from scratch and WOW, the quality, presentation and taste are all incredible. Belle Epoque is a cozy, ambient restaurant with a beautifully gourmet and unexpected worldwide menu that’s a wonderful addition to St Joseph. The breakfast and brunch menus are full of variety and the lunch and dinner menus are showstoppers! A concise cocktail and wine list finish off this absolute gem of a locally owned family business. I also LOVE that they’re open 7 days a week.“
“This was a casual place for lunch. We had the soup of the day- cauliflower soup, the Apple Spinach Salad with grilled sourdough bread, and a chocolate croissant to share. Staff/Chef were super nice and attentive. Weren’t too many treats left by the time we arrived. Great part of town.“
