20 Best Craft Breweries in St. Louis

Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Brewery Brewery • $
1200 Lynch St, St. Louis

“I was excited to visit here and the view of the campus made my anticipation grow even more.

There was free parking here, so that was pleasant. It was labeled Budweiser Tour & Biergarten Guest Parking Only.

My significant other and I went inside and I was impressed immediately. We walked up to the front desk to see the tour options and went with the Day Fresh Tour. This included the Clydesdale Stables | Beechwood Aging Cellars Historic Brewhouse | Bevo Packaging Day Fresh Beer | Trolley Ride. Cost: $15 21+ (Day Fresh Beer). Duration: 75-90 Min. Our tour was at 4:00 PM. They had plenty of seating, so we sat down while we waited.

The Clydesdale Stables were an amazing stop. Anheuser-Busch Home Of The World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales Since 1933 was on a sign before the entry. There was a lot of history here. I’d say Lloyd was my favorite.

The Beechwood Aging Cellars and Historic Brewhouse were both awesome parts of the tour. There was a lot to learn in each of them.

I was given a poured sample of Budweiser. The beer was crispy and refreshing.

The Bevo Packaging was an interesting stop. There was a lot going on and production seemed pretty wild.

I was given a Day Fresh Beer with the tour and it ended up being a 25 oz. Michelob Ultra can. It was a tasty beer when I had it at home.

The Trolley Ride was short, but sweet. It was a smooth ride.

At the end of our tour, we were taken to The Biergarten for a complimentary beer. I chose Budweiser and the pour was fantastic. We sat down at Table #302 for a little bit. The beer was crispy and refreshing as well.

Before we left, we stopped inside the Anheuser- Busch store. This place was big and had a lot of different items. I ended up getting a Bud Pen for $2.00 and a Wrench keychain for $2.00. The prices weren’t bad at all.

The service throughout my visit was hospitable. Every employee I encountered was kind.

Overall, I’m so glad I came here. I loved all of the areas we explored. It was worth the price and left me feeling accomplished after my visit. I would love to go again someday.

Date of visit: Jul 8, 2024“

Budweiser Brewery Experience Brewery • $

“We did the Day Fresh tour on a Thursday morning (10:30am) in June. The tour lasted about 90 minutes with several stops during the tour. We visited the Clydesdale horses and stable, fermenting and bottling buildings, sampled beer while we learned about the ingredients in Budweiser beer, took a trolley ride back to the staring place, and ended the tour with a 20oz draft as part of the tour. Also part of the Day Fresh tour, everyone over 21 was given a bottle of beer that had been bottled less than 24 hours before. This tour was great-make sure to spend time in the gift shop after the tour. So many fun gifts and souvenirs. Highly recommend!!

“Great food, great beer, and great folks in a great space. They really have it all—even a patio! Civil Life was already my favorite brewery, but they went above and beyond to take us under their wing and make everything fun and easy for us when we had one of their casks at our wedding earlier this month! They have cask beers available on draft if you're into cask beer, which is a whole world I knew nothing about but am now very much into after learning more about the cask process/taste difference from Jake, who was so eager to help and share his knowledge. Thank you, Civil Life! ?“

“Can’t say enough good things about this place!! I recently threw my husband’s 40th birthday here and it was truly perfect. The owners and staff were so incredibly kind, accommodating, helpful and just all around really great people! Not to mention everyone that came was really blown away by how perfect this space was! The inside/outside combo, how it’s super kid friendly and pet friendly was a massive bonus. Honestly nothing like this in STL. Thank you for being such a great addition to such a special milestone!“

“Our October wedding at 2nd Shift Brewing was unforgettable! We had about 100 guests and everyone who attended raved about the great drinks and friendly bar staff. We rented out the venue from 5-10pm on Saturday night and the 2nd Shift team was so helpful in the planning process leading up to the event and setting up/executing the event on wedding day. We were so glad we chose 2nd Shift for our wedding and have no regrets!“

Earthbound Beer Brewery • $

“5/5 stars for Earthbound. I appreciate how easy they were to work with as our wedding venue. Stuart, the owner, answered all my questions and met with us several times before the big day to discuss our needs. This is a small business, so you will not get an entire waitstaff or suit-and-tie aesthetics (hopefully, you already knew that). You do get real people who listen, support a small business, don't break the bank, and get to have a unique, beautiful, earthy, and urban wedding venue. Not to mention, they make great beer! #thousanddollarwedding“

“We stopped here after Paint Louis as it was recommended for its Gluten-free menu and what a great find! The cider flight was perfect as was our appetizer, main meal and dessert (hey, ya gotta have dessert when the rest of the meal was so awesome!). Alpha Brewing Company Brewery • $$
4310 Fyler Ave, St. Louis

“I recently hosted an event at Alpha Brewing, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! We used their private event room, which was spacious and perfect for our group of 20. We loved that we could use their audio system and had a TV we could control ourselves. The team at Alpha, especially Andrew, was fantastic in helping us play every detail (at a pretty last minute pace at that), from setting up the space to providing the catering through their on-site kitchen. The food was delicious and Alpha provides their own beer and seltzers, but also had cocktails on draft as well!

Communication was easy throughout the planning process, and they really went above and beyond to make sure our event was a success. If you're looking for a great brewery in St. Louis for hosting events (or just to hang out on their fabulous patio), with amazing food, beer, and services, I highly recommend Alpha Brewing.“

“I was at Rockwell Beer Company recently to celebrate my cousin's birthday. I don't drink, so I can't comment on the beer. The food, however, was good! I enjoyed The Rockwell burger along with the llama fries. The bacon jam on the burger was a tasty touch. I did enjoy the fries, but they might have had even too much sauce on them. Half of them got soggy before I could finish them, and I had to use a fork. They were most tasty, just messy. The building was cool and there were lots of TVs for enjoying sports. I'd definitely come back!“

Schlafly Bottleworks Brewery • $$

“Been here multiple times but somehow never filed a review on Google Maps. Patio is really nice and a pretty good size - assuming the weather and the temperature cooperate.

Wait staff, host crew, and bartenders are always friendly and knowledgeable. We sat in the bar area during a recent art fair that was going on in the parking lot. Plenty of seating inside as well, since it was getting hot.

My wife ordered the quesadilla. Said it was fine; nothing fancy but was presented well and tasted as expected. I opted for the chorizo burger (though I’ve had and recommend the Cuban). The chorizo burger was super tasty! Not a huge helping of fries, but the size of the burger made up for it.

My wife tried a couple of the beers and found several she liked. I don’t drink and she had at least one seasonal one, so no sense in skewing this review. Like I said, been here quite a few times and will most certainly be back. :-)“
