“Old school bar/restaurant! Smell of cigs and cold beer can get any better reminds me of childhood because I was born in 70's Wed and Saturday the best fried chicken you ever ate! You get mashed potatoes and green beans. The fried mushrooms are bomb with the horseradish dip. Cheeseburger is strong! The Willy onion rings are fabulous. It ain't fancy but the food/cold drinks are the main attraction. Sits by a train track hear the whistle! Service is fast and friendly! Family owned.“

“James, our server, made it a fun evening. The food as always, was perfect. We had the caprese with lobster salad to start. Light and tasty. Then we had the 12oz Australian Wagyu, cooked to perfection and just about as good as Japanese Wagyu for a lot less. Served sliced and placed in the middle. We love Wagyu and this is a special dish. We were thrilled they had it tonight. We also had the pasta special, spinach tagliatelle with shrimp and scallops and a cheesy delicious sauce with bacon, almost like a carbonara. Not ultra creamy but super good. Big shrimp and scallops. Finally we had the Truffle Mac and Cheese which is addicting and awesome. We brought some home for our grand daughter. Napoli 2 is a great restaurant.“

“I would put myself in debt to eat this food, It's so incredible the head chef is brilliant, and the staff from the front of the house to the back make the entire experience a joy. the wild boar and polenta is writing home about worthy, and the tirimisu makes me emotional... the pizza is literally the only pizza in st louis worth eating and I'm from Chicago so I feel like my opinion is extra valid lol. there are a ton of "fancy restaurants" in St. Louis but table cloths and wine selection don't mean crap when the menu of a reasonably priced pizza joint makes your food look like McDonald's by comparison.“

“Went with the guys for a burger and beer on a weekday around five. Place was already busy but we got a table immediately. Service was very good. I had the jalapeño burger, coleslaw and smithwick beer. Burger was excellent. Jalapeños were fried and piled high I normally don't notice the bun, but that was also very good. I ordered coleslaw as my attempt at dieting. Was average. My compatriots fries looked very good. Large portions.“

The restaurant wasn’t really crowded when we got there and we still had to wait. The table we got was a high top by the bar, would have preferred a booth or other table in the dining area but all in all it was a good experience. “I went there today for an early dinner and the food was Excellent as usual. The tuscan chicken sandwich was really delicious and the homemade coleslaw also. Other dinners had a variety of specials and they all looked scrumptious. The servers and owners are great and make you feel at home. Rocky and Ted are always entertaining and there were a number of musicians in attendance which speaks well for the the appeal of great food and music.“

All the standards are on the menu, plus some very nice real Mexican options. The place is not fancy, but it is laid out well, except there is no real waiting area when it is busy. It was very busy both times we went. Service was great with a friendly staff. This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. We have had Mexican all over the U.S. and have lived in New Mexico and Texas and have traveled all over Mexico. So we have a broad base for comparison. “Ice & Fuel is my go-to spot for what I feel is the best burger in STL. The cooked-to-order freshness is outstanding. With fresh, crisp vegetables and sides, it's hard to beat. If your cardiologist is more forgiving than mine, get a side of onion rings! Drinks are cheaper than most places and the pours are perfect. The staff is always courteous and attentive. Frequent visits and you'll be remembered - that's a great part of going here. My one complaint: It is loud. Very loud. Between 5 and 7 you're probably not going to have a few cocktails and catch up with friends. If yelling people is your thing, you'll love it! Overall Ice & Fuel is a great, underrated beer and burger joint. Check it out!“

It was pretty good, but.......best ever? I knocked the atmosphere for this place down a star because the interior lighting was way too dark for my taste, but that's just me. Coming in out of bright sunlight makes it a safety issue in my opinion. I will mention that this was one of the few places I've been that really knows how to do french fries right - crunchy outside with a soft interior. The place was a little run down, but they certainly are confident, and their prices are quite reasonable.“

For example tonight they had a pinball tournament going on in the back of the bar and a wrestling trivia night going on in the front.If you're a smoker they have two smoking areas outside, one in the front and one in the back.If you like pinball they have a wonderful collection of machines and they are all .75. These machines are all in excellent condition and you can tell that Murph is a fan of pinball.Parking: Lots of spots. It's a strip mall shared parking lot. “We had our mid-winter Model T Ford lunch here. Probably 25-30 folks showed up. They have an area that was able to accommodate us all, and we had great service, even though we were a larger party. The serviced was spot on, drinks came out quickly and the food orders followed close behind. So many different dishes were served and it seemed as though everyone enjoyed the food. They did not seem to mind we sat around for a couple of hours swapping our stories. Another nice thing was they let us have separate checks, which makes for a much easier time for our group. There is more than one location in the area, and we plan on trying a different one next time.“

“This was our first visit to this restaurant. No wait for a table at 7PM on a Thursday. Nice atmosphere, casual, quiet enough to hold a conversation. Good table spacing. Very pleasant greeting and seating experience. Service was prompt, pleasant, and very knowledgeable. We ordered a salad - split - as a starter and the sirloin steak and pork and dumplings as entrées. Salad was well presented and unique. Nicely chilled. Wine by the glass was excellent. Entrées came out quickly and well presented. House cut steak was thick and perfectly rare, as requested. Delicious! Diced potato, fresh green beans and house made steak sauce surrounding the steak. Pork dish was a complex assembly of ingredients - pulled pork, small dumplings, fennel, sauce with shaved hard cheese topping. Both dishes were delicious and huge portions. Only knock was both dishes were very salty. I have seen this comment before in reviews of this restaurant. I recommend when ordering to ask for less salt. My wife is an acknowledged salt-a-holic and it was a little too much for her. Without the salt dosage this is a 5 star food rating! We will visit again.“

“Global Brew is an incredible go to spot to go to for a beer! The beer selection holds true to the name. There are more selections than you could imagine - guaranteed to find a good beer you enjoy. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with finding you the perfect beer to enjoy. I love that they're dog friendly. It truly improves the atmosphere and makes me want to come back more often! My only suggestion would be to have a food or snack selection. You're allowed to bring outside food but having small snack's available there would be nice as well.“

Idk what happened to my review just noticed it was not as I thought I had left it but crowd was easy to deal with and after avoiding people besides the ones work paid us to deal w for twenty yrs we encountered so many seemingly kinda slow adults were happy to find them friendly welcoming and not annoying. “My companion and I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience! We started with the escargot in mushroom caps which were absolute perfection. I had the beef tips with mushrooms and they were also cooked to perfection! My companion had a prime sirloin steak that was absolutely huge and he ate the whole thing because he said it was so good! We both had the twice baked potatoes which Charcoal House has always been famous for and they were delicious! The service was excellent, friendly and attentive. We both agreed that we had not had such a lovely dining experience in a long time.“
