“The food was good as usual. The fried green tomatoes and crab cakes were so delicious we couldn't get a picture before they were eaten. Keyonte was the worst server ever. We placed our order upon arrival. However, she acknowledged hearing it but gave no valid reason for not putting it in. We had to request silverware multiple times. The royal reds were delicious as usual. However, Keyonte let the shells sit on the table for an extended amount of time despite there being little room for the oysters. We had to ask her to remove them. We asked her 2x for a to-go box. Finally, as we proceeded to self serve, Keyonte offered and delivered a box that was obviously too small for the oyster poboy and the check for $144.“

“To be fair, I've only had one dish here but it keeps me coming back! The red beans and rice is the best in the whole metro area. I'm not even a big red beans n rice fan, but that's how good this dish is. The staff are very friendly and personable. Food comes out hot and fast. Really unique mardi-gras-style atmosphere. “I absolutely love Valley St Fish, when I have a fish craving this is my go to place. The only thing I dislike is that this place has probably been in business since before I was born and they have don’t no upgrades to the building or parking. You would think with all these centuries of being in business they would make some improvements to the place. You also have to have life insurance to park and cross the street to get to the building as traffic is horrendous. Other than this it’s the best fish place in the city.“

“The food is always great. But the catfish is over priced. They take a catfish filet and cut it in 3 or 4 pieces and sever it as a large catfish. I been in other states where the cost of living is much higher than Ms, I be getting 3 whole filets for the price Penn's charge!“

“Absolutely loved everything I ate here. The oysters were priced super reasonably and were fresh and delicious. I got the Cajun pasta and was surprised by the depth of flavor. Service and atmosphere were both perfect when we stopped in around lunchtime and the food came out quick. If we are ever passing through again will definitely swing back by.“

The 16oz ribeye was mediocre, the rosemary potatoes were ok needed more seasoning, and the broccoli was over cooked and floating in butter. The blackened gator tacos( a signature dish) were chewing and flavorless. Overall the restaurant was nice and quiet. Our waiter wasn't very friendly and acted like he didn't want to be at work. Other than bringing our food out he only checked on our table once to see if we needed anything or refills for our drinks. Definitely wouldn't go back!“

“Got a chicken on a stick dinner and a catfish dinner with fries and hushpuppies. The chicken on a stick was a nice size and good. Catfish and hushpuppies were really good. The fries were the seasoned kind, which were also good. Food was cooked to order, so it was a 10-15 min wait.“
