“Growing up in the area this bar was a fun place to go as a child, playing pool and drinking Shirley temples was the highlight of my day, Katie and Kila Bakke are always a blast to be around, as an adult going into this establishment I’ve always felt safe and comfortable, the daily patrons are always always respectful and have a lot of great conversations in them. My uncle who recently passed was one of the patrons, they honored him with the post funeral service and put his picture on display for everyone to see, the owners of this establishment are good hearted people.“

“Haggard, the bartender was amazing! The BEST bartender we’ve ever had. He delayed his smoke breaks to take our group photo and also to take our second drink order. He’s very responsible and checked every single one of our IDs. The regulars, that’s a different story by he assured us they were of age. 100% recommend, we’ll definitely be back.“

“Stopped over after doing laundry next door and felt like we were home. We were welcomed by Brent, Shawna and Kevin and made to feel like a local. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar, shared stories with them all and enjoyed our morning, bought some merchandise to proudly wear on our trip and left feeling welcomed. Great local long standing establishment. They have keno machines, karaoke some nights and horseshoes out back. Couldn’t think of any better way to start off our 4th of July.“

“Some time ago, I reached out to the Gold Bar/Western privately via their website regarding the execrable behavior of one of their bartenders. I appreciated their prompt response, their affirmation that they had observed his actions too, and that they would speak to him. Unfortunately he remains rude and churlish, to the point that my office hesitates gathering there for drinks these days. I am leaving an overall positive review because the other staff is excellent, but I really hope that this person’s demeanor towards bar patrons improves.“

“A friendly, welcoming environment, evident with friends who gather together. A stranger would feel safe to enter and might even make friends, if he or she is not rude, arrogant, or judgmental. Be nice and respectful, and it can be a great experience.“

“We always stop for chicken when we come to town. It's always delicious! We always plan for a bit of a wait for a table and a bit more of a wait for food, but the chicken is worth it. Sadly tonight we had a less than pleasant experience. We were able to get a table and order right away, things were looking great. Then we waited and waited and waited... The table that sat down after we ordered got their food. Then we waited and the table next to us that arrived 20 minutes after we ordered got their food. The waitress was friendly and apologetic and told us it would be 7 more minutes. Ten minutes later and over 45 minutes after we ordered our 1 chicken dinner it arrived. The chicken was good as always but we weren't offered any type of recompense for our wait and in fact were given the wrong ticket. Not sure where the error was made but do better Suds Hut! We will be thinking about this experience next time we are in town and may choose to go elsewhere.“
