“Haggard, the bartender was amazing! The BEST bartender we’ve ever had. He delayed his smoke breaks to take our group photo and also to take our second drink order. He’s very responsible and checked every single one of our IDs. The regulars, that’s a different story by he assured us they were of age. 100% recommend, we’ll definitely be back.“

“First time in Helena, and I had an awesome time walking around the beautiful old town area surrounding this excellent bar. Very interesting and palpable history. On my way walking back to my hotel I noticed a large police presence, and was informed that there was an active shooter situation and that I should seek shelter inside. Luckily, I was next to The Gold and Western Bar, so I knocked and eventually won my way inside to safety.

Sara, the bartender, was holding down the situation impeccably. I was informed that beer was still available for sale, and that should the need arise we would evacuate into the historic basement, which had yet another safety feature of an alternative exit out onto the street.

I enjoyed good conversation with locals, I read the plaque on the wall that informed me the historical place of this bar in entertaining the First Special Services Force, AKA the Devil's Brigade of WW2, I phoned my wife to tell her I love her, and I imbibed in a delicious 2 Towns Cider from a cidery near where I live back in Oregon.

Eventually, we were told that it was safe to leave the bar, and I was given a ride to my hotel by a fellow patron who was absolutely lovely, and had been sober for many years, as verified by Sara.

“After my previous review, the manager at Haps Bar took the time to investigate the incident and made sure things were made right for both the bartender and the karaoke DJ. I was encouraged to give Haps another chance, and I'm glad I did.

I stopped in on this beautiful, relaxing Friday and had an absolutely enjoyable time. Marty was tending bar evening and did a fantastic job. Not only was he attentive and friendly, but he even helped us attempt to rescue someone's pet bird, which certainly made for a memorable night.

I also want to acknowledge that I was wrong to let the unacceptable behavior of one patron negatively shape my overall opinion of the establishment. Looking back, that individual's actions did not reflect the bar, its staff, or its management.

Haps Bar has a welcoming atmosphere, great service, and genuinely caring staff. If you're looking for a place to relax, enjoy a good drink, and spend time with good company, I would definitely recommend stopping by.“

“I love the Hub. I've been going there for years. I'm a pool player. Plenty of league nights and tournaments through the various leagues. I love the owners & staff, always helpful and friendly. Their food selection is great. My mom loves their steak fingers 🐺😎“

“We always stop for chicken when we come to town. It's always delicious! We always plan for a bit of a wait for a table and a bit more of a wait for food, but the chicken is worth it. Sadly tonight we had a less than pleasant experience. We were able to get a table and order right away, things were looking great. Then we waited and waited and waited... The table that sat down after we ordered got their food. Then we waited and the table next to us that arrived 20 minutes after we ordered got their food. The waitress was friendly and apologetic and told us it would be 7 more minutes. Ten minutes later and over 45 minutes after we ordered our 1 chicken dinner it arrived. The chicken was good as always but we weren't offered any type of recompense for our wait and in fact were given the wrong ticket. Not sure where the error was made but do better Suds Hut! We will be thinking about this experience next time we are in town and may choose to go elsewhere.“

“Growing up in the area this bar was a fun place to go as a child, playing pool and drinking Shirley temples was the highlight of my day, Katie and Kila Bakke are always a blast to be around, as an adult going into this establishment I’ve always felt safe and comfortable, the daily patrons are always always respectful and have a lot of great conversations in them. My uncle who recently passed was one of the patrons, they honored him with the post funeral service and put his picture on display for everyone to see, the owners of this establishment are good hearted people.“

“Disappointing experience, but shoutout to Bobby

I was traveling out of town and stopped at Chili’s because I was really looking forward to getting a Triple Dipper. I placed a To-Go order and decided to have a drink at the bar while I waited.

Unfortunately, the experience was pretty disappointing. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, and after the bartender brought me my drink and took my order, I felt like I was pretty much forgotten about. They were friendly and talking with other patrons around me, but I couldn’t seem to get their attention again, even when I wanted to order another drink. I ended up waiting almost an hour for my food, and when I finally got it to my car, it was unfortunately ice cold.

I called the restaurant and spoke with Bobby, the manager, and I have to say—they completely changed the experience for me. They were incredibly kind, listened to what happened, and immediately wanted to make it right. They even asked me to come back so they could personally remake my food and make sure I was taken care of.

I was traveling away from my family, and this was honestly the one little thing I had been looking forward to, so I really appreciated how much care Bobby put into fixing the situation. They treated me with kindness and made sure I left feeling taken care of.

The initial experience definitely wasn’t what I expected, but Bobby’s response deserves recognition. Things happen, and what stood out to me was that when I brought it up, they genuinely cared and made it right. ❤“
