“This is the first time I have ate at this place since the late eighty's and early nineties with my Mother. She loved the food here and the owners. Since I moved back here 9 years ago I have not gone back.
What a huge mistake on my part. Yes the place is a little bit old and dated, so is the interior decor, but its as old is the building(1984)
But everything was clean and it worked, ve friendly and knowledgeable staff.
So please don't judge the place by it looks outside and in...it will definitely be your loss.
The service was outstanding and the food was incredible. Plus good portions sizes for the money. One thing I got was the special house fried rice. Yes it's a very common dish. But they elevated it to something absolutely delicious, juicy vegetables ,tender meat and shrimp,flavored great, and the rice cooked perfectly.
If you enjoy great Asian food and great service for fair price. Check it out, and you decide.

“The Mapo Tofu at Wheat is outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and healthy. Though the tofu portion was a little smaller than I expected, the taste more than made up for it. Truly the best Mapo Tofu I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend Wheat to anyone looking for authentic, delicious food.“

“Pleasantly surprised!!!! We have not gotten takeaway from Panda Garden for quite a while now because it seemed that it was getting more and more expensive while the quality was getting worse. But last night we decided to give it another try, and we were impressed. The menu has expanded, the online ordering process is easier, the prices are appropriate, and the food was great! NY style Chinese food that's super nice for a movie night on a cold evening. We will put Panda Garden back in our rotation for takeout nights!“

“Celebrated Chinese New Year with friends on Sunday at Lunch time. We were the only table but they were very busy with takeout orders. We ordered Happy Family, General Taos Chicken. Seafood Delight, Chicken wings, steamed Broccoli, noodles and pork dish and shared. All of the dishes were very good and the waitress took time to take photos for us.“

“We received the best service from Mariah this Sat. It was a party of 25 guests, she serviced use with 100% customer service. the food was great and we were leaving a funeral which was a bad day for all, we left feeling a littler lighter, due to the our server. She is a GEM.“

“Fabulous spot for traditional dim sum brought on carts!! Went there on Sunday for lunch and it was packed. But the wait wasn't too long. The owner was so kind and offered vegetarian dim sum options for my wife. The rest of us enjoyed shrimp dumplings, shumai, and so many other goodies all washed down with piping hot jasmine tea. Felt as good as the dim sum of San Francisco! What a gem. My heart and belly are so happy! Plus, they scored a 98 on their health inspection... I will always support a restaurant that maintains a high health inspection score. We will be back!“

“Peony had been the go-to spot for a while and the food is great for take out and normally on-point with their service. However, something is wrong with their system because the last few times as it seems to be “losing my online order” meaning I have to wait an extra 20 minutes. Nothing major would just recommend they upgrade their ordering service to minimize these minor, but recently consistent inconveniences. Would recommend calling to place order.“

There were some reviews that knocked the restaurant for atmosphere, this place is literally high end quality in a relaxed, causal atmosphere. It feels cozy, the dated feel gives it an authentic-seeming vibe. And to be honest, when you see the majority of the clientele are Asian and spending Chinese at their tables, I feel the food must be pretty authentic too.“

“Some awesome food! I got the general tso chicken and man, it was amazing. The broccoli and rice was perfect. The eggroll was awesome as well! I took a break from my jobsite to come eat and I am very glad I did. The only thing I could find wrong is the size of the plate. It was over filling. They need bigger plates. I will certainly be back if I’m working in the area.“

“I have been disappointed with the food at every other Chinese place since I have moved to NC in 2018.. but this place was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, spicy without being too over the top. Chicken was crunchy and not soggy. Crab Rangoon was quality. Absolutely thrilled with our meal. And my fiancé and I are super picky.
